This pic is not from Bulgaria. Bulgarian gypsies do not wear kerchiefs, shalvari or burkas. Men don’t have beards. They dress as everybody. Seems the author of the vid has assembled pictures of different gypsy slums from different countries.

Bulgarian gypsies are not that bad, actually. Unlike in Czech / Slovakia / other parts of Eastern Europe, most of them work for a living. Of course you’ll often find them outside churches and mosques, even supermarkets and restaurants, begging for small change. But I’ve also flown in premium class where Bulgarian Gypsy passengers (working in Germany, apparently) wore Louis Vuitton and ordered pricey refreshments.
True, there are housing projects all over the region that gypsy residents have wrecked beyond description. But that’s – in large measure – the postwar communist governments’ stupidity, trying to “reform” a nomadic people and lock them inside multi-storey concrete boxes. Before that, gypsies roamed the countryside and made a living by pilfering but also dealing in small trades – repairing crockery, things like that.

In Britain, there are very few genuine Romany gypsies. Of those that there are, most are recent arrivals from Eastern Europe. The vast majority of those that claim to be ‘gypsies’ ( the authorities prefer the softer label ‘travellers’ as they think that is less revealing), are in fact Irish. They are the scum of Ireland – filthy and criminal.
