I don’t think the Trump-Zelensky spat was staged. Maybe it looked a bit stilted, because although Zelensky was annoyed, even angry, he knew he was limited in what he could say and how he could behave not so much because he was arguing with Trump, but because he was in the White House arguing with today’s most powerful political office which had supported him for three years. Not only that, the truth was the argument used against him and the only counter he had was lies, and it’s unwise to get snotty with lies.
