The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has ranked Russia as the world’s fourth-largest economy based on purchasing power parity (PPP).
PPP compares economic productivity and standards of living between countries by adjusting for differences in the cost of goods and services.
In its World Economic Outlook published on Tuesday, the IMF said Russia’s gross domestic product (GDP) in 2024 amounts to 3.55% of global GDP in terms of PPP, outperforming Japan, which has 3.38%.
According to the report, Russia ranks fourth in terms of PPP after China (18.8%), the US (15%), and India (7.9%).
The latest figures show that the world’s leading economies by PPP now include three BRICS countries – China, India, and Russia – the report authors noted, pointing out that Russia’s upgrade has been driven by Western sanctions.
“Today we have to implement aggressive import substitution and establish our own production. Therefore, Russia’s fourth place is quite expected,” the head of Macroeconomic Research Center at the Financial University, Evgeny Balatsky, told Rossyiskaya Gazeta.
“In recent years, Russia overtook its European competitors – one after another – the UK, France, Germany, and now Japan,” he added.
Earlier this month, Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said the share of the BRICS countries in global GDP, as measured by PPP, has been growing steadily to reach the current figure of 36.7%.
IMF data shows that the global GDP share of the G7 countries (Canada, France, Japan, Italy, the US, UK, and EU) in terms of PPP has been in decline, dropping from 50.42% in 1982 to 29% in 2024.
The IMF has also boosted its 2024 growth forecast for Russia and now expects the country’s GDP to grow 3.6% this year, an increase from its previous projection of 3.2%. However, the Washington-based institution cut its estimate for next year’s growth from 1.5% to 1.3%.
The IMF has linked the downgrade for 2025 to “private consumption and investment slow amid reduced tightness in the labor market and slower wage growth.”

I believe I was saying this on here two or more months ago, and considering Nazi Amerika, and China are soaked in debt, and that Japan now ranked 5th is also a debt black hole, Russia is the No1 economy. It will never be the largest, 2nd, or third largest economy, but as an around package, it’s very impressive, and 3 of the top four are BRICS nations.
Where is Nazi Britain? Probably 10th or lower. Simply put, there’s no reliable data, not that I trust data, but one can use it to extrapolate the truth.
Even before the SMO, Russia spent no more that 3% of GDP on its military, but it still out spent Germany, France, and Nazi UK combined, and if we factor in the waste, corporate greed, corruption, and folly, there’s a case to be made that Russia on its own, is more than a match for Nazi NATO.
Recently, Russian military spending had jumped to 7% of GDP, and this does pose some big problems in the future, assuming there is a future.
At some point, this will need to be wound down, and rams will need to return to the economy, but this doesn’t look like anytime soon.
Talk of negotiations? How can the Nazi West find the money, plus interest for the money they stole from Russia?
Compensation for Russian dead, and damage? The withdrawal of NATO from Eastern Europe, and a treaty with financial penalties, for the dissolution of NATO.
This is just the tip of the berg.
36 per cent, so there must be a third bloc that is roughly a third, making it just like Orwell said with the phoney eternal war
Gee… looks like those US/UK ‘Axis Of ZOG’ sanctions are really working… at least for Russia!!!
LMFAO!!!!
Nothing says were sticking it good to the Anglo-Zionist anal satanist globalist NWO scum…
…more than an IMF upgrade…
All this means is that the food and ticky tacky Russians buy is the fourth most affordable for the people in the world based on their coin.
However, the world bank in considering GDP per capita in relation to the international (US) dollar puts Russia quite low on the totem pole.
“GDP per capita, PPP (current international $)”
https://data.worldbank.org/indicator/NY.GDP.PCAP.PP.CD
World annual per capital GDP in US dollars is $23,009.8
Russia is $44,103 so not a poor nation, but it is 52nd of the world bank totem pole.
As for national GDP Russia hardly is in the ranking of any or the real power elites. It has a GDP of only $2.18 trillion. The US is over $23 trillion. China is about $18 trillion. Germany is $5.8 trillion. The UK is $3.3 billion. India is $3.5 billion.
Why then the IMF PPP hype as if Russia is some kind of major economic power? It cannot afford to sustain this very contrived war in the Ukraine unless it is using the war to sell a new range of battle-field tested weapons on the world market and while opening up new markets with China and other Asian nations for its gas and other resources. Regarding the international banking cartel and its machinations for a global digital currency, what this placement of Russia on the imaginary IMF PPP totem pole signals to my very suspicious mind is some agreement for a multi-polar globalist order with Russia being one of the power blocks, and also likely pointing to some earlier deal regarding carving up the Ukraine even before the war began.
“Multipolarism appears to be nothing more than the consolidation of globalism”

“Why doesn’t Vladimir Putin fire all the Globalists in the Russian government? Rurik Skywalker asks. Because Putin is a dedicated Globalist himself.”
@mr.Fred b.excellent info…. another question? What does russia produce? Does it have an industrial base? Is russia an industrial powerhouse like germany? exporting its premium goods worldwide.
A Military Industrial Complex requires an industrial complex.russia is neither industrial nor complex.they are simple.they can not even set up a domestic automobile industry.russia relies solely on its petrodollar revenue.just like the su. relied on cuba for its sugar staple.the dumb russkies occupy the greatest land mass on earth.what have they done to exploit all that richness?nothing
@Liar
Russia is mainly a resource nation and it probably would like a chunk of the rich Ukrainian farmlands in addition to various mineral interests in the nation. In any case the Exposé article is revealing.
We have to remember that Russia played the role of a major multilateral participant in Covid doing its own military coordination and lockdowns, and then flogging its Sputnik vaccines. Neither Putin or anyone in the Russian government will blow the whistle on the fact that the entire plan was made in the West and mainly in the good old USA. However, it was definitively a globalist plan and in hindsight the powers running the US certainly did not want a loose cannon on the throne while they were orchestrating the greatest global crime in history, nor would they tolerate Putin to do any whistleblowing on the Covid operation.
Following up with the planned and provoked war in the Ukraine we see that it also came from the same folks who gave us Covid, the vaccines, and the global-warming fraud. Russia, however, is no match either for the economic or military powers of the West and that is another reason why we ought to be looking to the conflict in the Ukraine as being orchestrated for globalist power-block ends, and even as a pretext to divide the nation up between Russia and Western interests, after it is completely bankrupted and deconstructed, and/or see the conflict as a pretext to create the mother of all fears of a nuclear WWIII to usher us into their globalist control grids.
“World annual per capital GDP in US dollars is $23,009.8
Russia is $44,103 so not a poor nation, but it is 52nd of the world bank totem pole”…….take a 50/50 cut for the oligarchy =22.000 ,like the us figure abovementioned.
They failed to mention that Russia has virtually no debt. They have lots of Gold, produce lots of Gold, along with oil, LPG, gas, coal, Titanium, wheat and a deep & vast array of other natural resource assets. Not to mention, the baddest military on earth with the most cutting-edge weaponry. I’d move to Russia if it weren’t so cold. They also have some of the most beautiful, long-haired women on earth. A white, Christian nation.
People spend a lot to get a holiday in the sun, which the “poor” countries have every day, so if you factor in the heat and light, poor countries are the rich ones. Maybe Iceland needs reparations
@fred b. Thanks for your concise reply.
