Kourtney Kube – ABC News Feb 19, 2024

After months of requests from Ukrainian officials, the Biden administration is working toward providing Ukraine with powerful new long-range ballistic missiles, according to two U.S. officials.

Late last year, the U.S. began to supply Ukraine with Army Tactical Missile Systems, known as ATACMS, but so far it has provided only the older medium-range ATACMS. Now, the U.S. is leaning toward sending the longer-range version of the missile, the officials said, which would allow Ukraine to strike farther inside the Russian-held Crimean Peninsula.

But U.S. funding for arms shipments to Ukraine remains uncertain because of opposition from former President Donald Trump and his Republican allies in Congress. Last week the Senate passed a $95 billion foreign aid package for Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan. But it’s not clear whether or when the GOP-controlled House will vote on the measure or whether it would survive the vote.

Blood soaked sun loungers on the Crimean beach that was showered with fragments from a US-supplied ATACMS missile strike.

Well the additional funds for Ukraine were approved and as a direct result more than one hundred sunbathers on a Crimean beach were showered with shrapnel from a ATACMS missile intercept over the weekend. Of those initially injured 4 are now dead.

The Russians are understandably angry because what occurred in Crimea yesterday was a clear war crime, funded by U.S. taxpayers. Moscow has vowed that there will be consequences.

It’s anyone’s guess what exactly those consequences will be but the Biden administration is paving the way for outright war with Russia and its allies, China and Iran. Ed

Ukraine’s deadly attack on Sevastopol: As it happened

RT.com – June 23, 2024

Kiev has struck the Crimean city with US-supplied ATACMS missiles, killing four people and injuring more than 150.

The city of Sevastopol in Crimea, Russia came under a massive Ukrainian missile attack on Sunday. Kiev’s forces used several US-made ATACMS equipped with cluster warheads in the strike, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.

Most of the missiles were shot down by Russian air defenses, but one, which was also hit, veered off course and detonated over the city. The missile’s “warhead explosion mid-air led to numerous civilian casualties,” the Defense Ministry said.

According to the Russian authorities, at least four people, including two children, were killed in the incident. More than 120 civilians, including 27 children, were injured.
