I’m 64 the age Macca sang about. When I grew up it was known as a high trust society because we were so homogenous as a country back then. It meant you could go to the store buying a pack of cigarettes or something else while leaving your car or bike unlocked outside the store. And lo & behold, it was still there when you exited the store, Peoples homes was only locked while being away on work or whatever other errand. My parents only locked the door shortly before we went to bed on the evenings.Today nobody would even dream of leaving their doors, bikes or cars unlocked at all.
