A Ukrainian missile strike on a Russian military wharf has injured at least 24 people and caused damage to warships. Moscow has pledged to restore the ships, while Kiev has hinted that it used British-made weapons in the attack.
Here is what we know about the incident so far.
Kiev strikes Crimea
The Wednesday morning attack on Crimea involved ten cruise missiles and three naval drones, the Russian Defense Ministry reported. The Russian military managed to intercept the unmanned speedboats and seven of the missiles. Those that reached the Sevastopol Shipyard damaged two ships.
The ministry did not identify the vessels, but said later in the day, after the fire caused by the strike was put out, that both can be restored and put back into service.
Russian media outlets have claimed that the damaged assets were the ‘Rostov-on-Don’ Kilo-class diesel-electric attack submarine and the ‘Minsk’ Ropucha-class landing ship.
Casualties
The strike injured 24 people, according to Mikhail Razvozhaev, governor of the city of Sevastopol, which constitutes one of Russia’s federal subjects. He described the condition of four of them as serious. The blastwaves also shattered windows in nearby houses and damaged rooftops, the official added.
Unconfirmed media reports claimed that two people may have been killed in the attack. All the victims were reportedly employees of the shipyard, which is a major military facility primarily involved in maintaining Russian warships.
Missiles
It was not immediately clear what weapons Ukraine used to hit the facility. Russian officials did not identify them.
Nikolay Oleshchuk, spokesman for the Ukrainian Air Force, acknowledged that Kiev was behind the attack. He thanked military pilots for a “wonderful job” and said the Russian forces experienced “a storm.”
The UK has provided dozens of Storm Shadow air-to-surface cruise missiles to Kiev to support it in the armed conflict with Russia.
Sky News cited a Ukrainian and a Western source, neither of them named, as confirming that those weapons were indeed used in the strike.
Kim Jong-un visit
The attack on Wednesday came hours before Russian President Vladimir Putin met North Korean leader Kim Jong-un. The visiting head of state, who rarely travels abroad, pledged his support for Moscow in its fight against “imperialism.”
The Russian military regularly reports Ukrainian attacks inside Russia, including territories that Kiev recognizes as being under Moscow’s sovereignty.
Last month, The Economist published a detailed account of Kiev’s semi-clandestine drone program and the rationale for launching kamikaze aircraft against targets deep inside Russia, including the capital.
“The headline-making strikes on Moscow are intended to have a psychological impact,” the outlet said. But some operations “appear to be PR projects designed to bring a prototype to the attention of procurement bosses, rather than having military value.
“The strike was coordinated by the British intelligence service MI-6”. Not a single MI-6 employee was harmed.
The Russians aren’t coming clean with what they know, and to be expected.
Where were the drone boats launched from? Where were these cruise missiles launched from?
Me, I believe MI6 and the SAS are upto their necks in these attacks, but don’t expect the Russians to tell us what they know, given the Russian nuclear power station threats posed by MI6.
I said this a very long time ago, and I said it with a heavy heart, because I think Putin in one of a kind, a very special person with extraordinary geopolitical skills. I’ve even said he’s the closest we had to Jesus. I’m not saying he is Jesus, but he’s the nearest we come to seeing such figure.
But alas, no one is prefect, and Putin’s strengths, are some of his weaknesses.
Putin still has hope for a relationship with the Nazi West, and in this, he is majorly mistaken, unless he wants Russia to be a wasteland plundered by the City Crime Cartels.
The first major mistake was the softly, softly SMO. As I said prior to the SMO, Russia should’ve done ‘shock & awe’, and on the 6th day, no surrender by the Nazis, then two tactical nukes used on two random Western UKrainian cities/towns, and two everyday there after until unconditional surrender.
Of course, at the time my idea must have seemed looney. However, today UKraine has lost over 400,000 Nazis, countless thicko sheeple, and Russia has probably lost 50,000 men. This doesn’t even come close to those who’ve sustained horrific injuries, and many injured Nazis were shot where they fell.
So my two nukes looks positively mild, when these towns would have notice to evacuate, so maybe 20k dead. This was a good deal, and most of UKraine would be intact.
I believe we are at a tipping point. Putin will be under enormous pressure to act decisively against the UK. If he doesn’t, then there’s a very high chance that Putin will be forced from power, and a much more aggressive leader installed, who will carryout a nuclear first strike against the Nazi West. The time between Putin being removed, and an all out strike against the Nazi West will less than an hour, maybe minutes. No one but a very small group will no what is going on.
MI6 training and probably aiding UKraine special forces inside Russia with the purpose of destroying a nuclear power station, probably with a nuke, is grounds for using nuclear weapons, but even so, a new hard-line leader wouldn’t give a crap about the current guidence for their use. The peramiters for use have been exceeded. Not only attacking a Russian nuclear power station, but possibly breaking open a nuclear Russian ship/sub, or the release of nuclear munitions.
As for the British Nazis, it’s just a question of time before the UK is turned into a radioactive crisp. Putin has rejected peace talks, so things can only get worse. Said it before, if you’re in the UK, think seriously about your personal situation, and tying up your personal relationships, because there’s going to ZERO notice when Russian nukes hit the UK. 99. whatever, has no idea of the peril they’re in.
