Quietly and with little fanfare Russia has embarked on a massive expansion of its armed forces.
Earlier in March it launched a recruitment campaign with the aim of enrolling 400,000 volunteers. However, this was not to replace “heavy losses” in Ukraine, as some in the Western mainstream media have suggested.
As respected commentators like former UN Weapons Inspector and US Marine Intelligence officer Scott Ritter, and retired U.S. Army colonel and military consultant Douglas Macgregor have pointed out, Russian casualties in Ukraine have been a fraction of the 43,000 claimed by the US Defense Intelligence Agency.
To add to the allure of signing up, the new recruits will earn a minimum of 160,000 roubles ($2,700) a month, which is almost THREE TIMES THE NATIONAL AVERAGE.
Moreover, the 400,000 volunteers will be in addition to 500,000 new conscripts who are being called up under tightened draft legislation. That makes a combined total of 900,000 in addition to Russia’s current army of 830,000.
Meaning that Moscow intends to MORE THAN DOUBLE the size of its army by the end of the year!!
To put that into perspective: the British Army currently fields 112,000 soldiers. So Russia will expand its ground forces by a factor of EIGHT TIMES the size of the British Army!!
We are not talking about an incremental increase but a massive expansion of Russia’s army, which leads this writer to suspect that something far bigger may be in the works.
Why else would Moscow embark on such a massive expansion of its army if it weren’t preparing for a much bigger conflict?
Regardless of who is right or wrong, we need to understand that the war in Ukraine could be about to escalate dramatically and irrevocably. Ed.

Russia has tightened its conscription law before a widely anticipated Ukrainian counteroffensive in the coming weeks, including introducing electronic military draft papers.
The lower and upper houses of parliament rushed through legislation that will make it significantly harder for Russians to dodge the draft while automatically banning registered conscripts from leaving the country.
The changes were pushed through with little public debate, fuelling speculation that Russia plans to announce a second wave of mobilisation, something the Kremlin has repeatedly denied.
The Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said the changes were intended to improve the military registration system and “have nothing to do with mobilisation”.
“When the special military operation began, you and I saw that in some places we had a lot of mess in the military recruitment offices,” Peskov told journalists on Wednesday. “That is exactly the purpose of this legislative initiative: to clear up this mess and to make it [the system] modern, effective and convenient for citizens.”

This is a hard one to work out.
A step change escalation leads to a nuclear exchange. The SMO is legal, as in, Russia had every right to head off the Nazi forces which had escalated shelling in the Dombas, and the threat to Russia, and especially Crimea.
The only reason why the Russians are doubling their army, is that they believe NATO is going to attack Russia. The maybe an air campaign, followed by a ground and sea invasion. NATO has substantial forces in Poland, and they also have large hardware stores which the US delivered about 5 or 6yrs ago.
Prepping tanks, and planes for UKraine, is a good cover for bigger war preparations.
As the Russians have said previously, they will use tactical nukes in the first instance of NATO aggression on Russian territory, and that includes the Dombas and Crimea.
Bitch Nuland has leaked top secret military information about Crimea and it’s role in the UKraine war. Of course, she was given permission to leak, and she said we (the US) and UKraine are hitting these facilities in Crimea. I doubt this is true, but it does escalate.
This all ties in with many elite Russian comments that both the US and Russia are going to clash on the nuclear level.
Me, I can’t see any off ramps, I can’t see any desire to build off ramps, and it’s a long way to January 2025. If Trump survives, and wins, then the US deep state needs to act sooner, rather than later.
If we recall what Merkel and Macron admitted to, that the plan was always to attack Russia, then if Russia didn’t quite grasp this scenario before these statements, they do now, and this is probably the reasoning behind the Russian military doubling of its ground forces. Also, Russia appears to have stopped using it’s hypersonic weapons, maybe for an all out attack.
Russia has the military advantage, so hypersonic weapons take out all important sites in NATO, some being tactical nukes, and then fire there main nukes. The idea being they also have the best missile defence systems, and most NATO missiles will be intercepted or they’ll fail, due to old age. Most US missiles and nukes are very old.
So the Russians, at the very least, expect a bigger ground war.
Russia is being given no choice. All their calls for peace have been rebuked, including Sergei Lavrov’s call this week at the UN. In the US recently Biden said, “There’s no such thing as someone’s else’s child. They are all our children.” That sounds to me like preparing the public for conscription. Of course, all children are born equal but their children are more equal than others. That draft won’t include theirs.

I gather that you, too, expect that the big showdown will not begin until the end of this year. This is also the time that the revolting Zelenski is postponing his ‘offensive’ to. But his offensive is impossible: Ukraine has not anywhere nearly enough soldiers left to mount an offensive. So as you say, what is to come at the end of the year will be something much bigger.
I wonder if NATO boots on Ukrainian and Polish ground, and fighter planes amassing overhead, will be the picture. Will they be over Russia too? And will President Putin’s moves be defensive only? That is highly unlikely, in the light of what he has already said (not to mention what Medvedev has said only days ago!) His will be retaliatory strikes, primarily at England. So a pan-European war, or World War III? Neither is an amusing prospect.

It’s difficult to give an exact time window for the Russian counter-offensive. However, judging from what Alois Irlmaier said, I suspect that it may commence before the end of this summer. Certainly the Russians seem to be preparing for something.

Proving the machines are rigged in a totally corrupt election system where you do not have the courts on your side in the first place, and everyone in the system who could provide evidence is either paid off or intimidated, is a very difficult thing to do. In a defamation action the defendant has to prove the libelous assertions or have some kind of qualified privilege based on reasonable belief. The last thing the US establishment would allow is for their totally rigged election systems to be found also to be rigged in the computer counting process by shifting the voting numbers.
This idea of simply “trusting” the top-down controllers in control of the machines is little different than the foxes running the lotteries appointing a trustee to oversee the draws in the lottery henhouses in place of actual public scrutineers and the public able to observe the draws. For elections, unless there is total continuity with real people representing each candidate in each polling station acting as scrutineers counting each marked ballot first from the ballot boxes and before they are swallowed up in any machine, and those numbers verified and sent in from each polling station to their candidate headquarters, there ought to be NO TRUST in the system at all. Secondly, until the election spending together with the influence of the mainstream media is neutralized there ought to be NO TRUST that we even are living in a “democratic” system, which clearly, we are not.

That fits: Porn dancer Zelensky has postponed his much publicised ‘counter-offensive’ to that period, probably hoping to excite more US largesse in the meantime.
Putin is certainly not amassing a 900,000-strong army to put down a Zelensky counter-offensive. Colonel Macgregor and Scott Ritter have, surprisingly, not yet shed light on what purpose the enormous Russian army is to serve. Neither have any of the usual pundits. That makes me very edgy.

It is always refreshing to look at the Chinese perspective, so I compared the BBC Report to The Global Times.

Please read the whole ‘Global Times’ story – it will probably take you approximately 24 times longer than the BBC Newscorp’s ‘non-tabloid’ piece of prose aimed at the average eight year old’s level of intelligence, but concludes in bracing and hopeful fashion –
