This is FLASH TRAFFIC: Konstantin Gavrilov, the head of the Russia Delegation to the Organization for Security and Coorperation in Europe (OSCE) has just publicly thrown down the nuclear gauntlet to the collective west, in an official statement:
Gavrilov said that he has been instructed by his government to announce “We know that the Leopard-2 tank, as well as the Bradley and Marder infantry fighting vehicles, are armed with uranium-core armor-piercing projectiles, the use of which leads to [radioactive] contamination of the area, as happened in Yugoslavia and Iraq.
If such shells are delivered to Kyiv, we will consider this as the use of dirty nuclear bombs against Russia, with all the ensuing consequences.”

It is a fact that the US and NATO do have Depleted Beryllium and Depleted Uranium ammunition which is used as “armor piercing” and “bunker busting” projectiles. None of these projectiles causes a nuclear chain reaction, so there is no nuclear blast from them. HOWEVER, when these particular projectiles strike their target, the metal used to make the projectiles (Uranium and/or Beryllium) is so dense, that it punches through whatever it hits. AS THAT HAPPENS, layers of the projectile disintegrate into highly radioactive powder which then travels by air, polluting entire areas for decades.
In Afghanistan, when the US used such weapons against the hideouts of Osama Bin Laden, the projectiles went through hundreds of feet of rock in the mountains and shed layers of radioactive material as they penetrated. This radioactive powder then polluted the groundwater for miles inside Afghanistan, leading to contaminated wells, which then lead to horrifying birth defects in almost all pregnant women who drank the water.
These effects have been deliberately concealed from US citizens by a compliant US media, but they occurred AND ARE STILL OCCURRING to this very day.
Russia has just thrown down the nuclear gauntlet to the West.
The probability of a now-Nuclear exchange – and outright nuclear war — just got very, VERY, real.

In Iraq, whenever they built a base, they had to bulldozer the top couple of feet, to remove the contaminated ground. All water had to be flown in. Countless Amerikan military were contaminated and went home to have children with birth defects, and many went on to develop cancers.
By international law, the US, and others are supposed to keep accurate firing data of all shells and missiles. So in the Balkans, the US has failed to provide this data, and I think this is the case elsewhere.
While these tanks and shells are a factor, I don’t think it changes very much. These two trains are on a collision path and there are no sidings. Europe has sealed its fate, as if it has this death wish.
If America does put its tanks in Ukraine before Russia ends the war and bankrupts the west, this concern raised by Russia suggests there may be a different approach towards US (and UK?) tanks than those of other countries. Others will need to be put out of action but US tanks will need to be quickly toasted, hunted so they can be destroyed while mostly fully armed, so that much of the radiation leak from DU ammunition can hopefully be contained by exploding within the hulk rather than fired around Ukraine.
One only need look at the Fallujah Babies to see what an atrocity use of this ammo is, so it may be that Russia is threatening to destroy these atrocities with small nuclear weapons, thinking it better to have larger clusters of manageable nuclear wasteland than countless thousands of tiny islands of it.
Iraq is contaminated for all future time by the uranium dust, from the tank shells in the 2003 war using depleted uranium. The ultra-high density of DU means that is vastly more ‘efficient’ with greater range and penetrating power than other tank ammo. Notice how there is no discussion at all about this in the Western media – the war is effectively going ‘nuclear’ and no-one even mentions it.
Doing this meant (in the Iraq war) was that other non-DU tanks are effectively just sitting ducks because of the vastly greater range achieve using the ultra-dense DU shells.

U-238 has a radiological half life of roughly 4.5 billion years. This means that a single curie (unit of radioactivity measured in disintegrations per second) is a very large volume (think very large room volume). The smaller the volume is for a curie of a given radioactive substance, generally, the more biologically dangerous it is. By contrast, a curie of Co-60 is barely large enough to see (vastly more radiologically dangerous). The point is that U-238 is very weakly radioactive and a curie of U-238 would probably be enough to produce many, many thousands of tank rounds. Additionally, U-238 is very dense and what is known as an alpha emitter. An alpha particle is a helium nucleus (high charge, low biological penetration). As such, it is only a biological problem if inhaled or eaten in quantity because it must be in direct contact with actively reproducing tissue to create damage. The dead layers of skin on your body provide adequate shielding from external alphas. By contrast, continuous occupation of an unventilated concrete basement could result in exposure to Rn-226 (a gaseous alpha emitter) that may lead to a radiological dosage that would amount to the biological damage equivalent of smoking many cigarettes per day. Rn-226 has a half life of about 4 days, making it a vastly more dangerous alpha emitter by volume than U-238. U-238 is not a gas and, due to its very high density, would be expected to eventually sink into soil which would provide increasing shielding against low-penetration alphas and decrease its likelihood of being inhaled. Lastly, the biological half life of uranium is about 15 days. So, unless exposure is extreme and/or continuous, the vast majority of the isotope will be eliminated by bodily functions in 3 months.
Uranium is also a toxic substance. I could find little definitive LD-50 (50% lethal) info. It appears that uranium is vastly more dangerous for its toxicity than its radiological properties. However, it appears that a large bodily intake (inconsistent with tank round exposure) is required for grim effects.
It may be the plan to turn the bread basket of Russia into Ukrainium.
The west knows Ukraine is lost, so now the plan is to poison the soil.

As for Russia and new Russian lands, no shells from these tanks or planes are going to end up in these areas.
The tanks will take 2/3 months. By then, the UKrainian Nazis will be a tiny fighting force.

All the countries which centrifuge uranium for enrichment produce DU. There is always a great amount of lying, coverup, and limited hangouts when governments talk about their own DU use because of the shame and criminality factor involved in conducting permanent terrain contamination. There is after all a Geneva Convention America signed that bans poison gas weapons such as uranium smoke aerosols. That shame and criminality’s why the Navy only admitted 250 odd DU rounds used on Vieques targets or Pohakuloa Training Area admitted to a few DU spotting rounds while making no mention of 50,000 acres of no man’s land contaminated with DU pellet ICMs.

The first use of DU on battlefields was by Israel (“the special ally”) using American munitions in 1973, and those muntions were anti armor penetrators fired by tanks.
The white hot combustion signature of DU munitions is caused by an extremely high rapid oxidation temperature of around 7000F. DU penetrators fired by tanks ignite right out of the gun barrel and leave high temperature combustion tracer signatures, seen in the Ukraine video in the second link.

Of course Russia is never going to tell the truth about its nuclear weapons capability including DU. No nation using DU ever does. Russia’s uranium imported by the US was not included in Ukrainian war sanctions against Russia. There is thus enormous confusion of who’s playing whom, due to the complexity and lying of the entire situation in Ukraine.

I should have said, “Messiah Schneerson ALLEGEDLY said…” because this speech was quoted in a letter to the editors of a newspaper. It might have never happened, but Makow ran an article on it. Most people who have read it think it sounds like the plotline in Ukraine, whether or not it is authentic. How else to explain why this war seems entirely built on deception and ulterior motive.

The nuclear materials expert Galen Winsor drawing on his first hand use of nuclear materials argued their proximity to humans was over egged. Further, that the “name of the game” was “heavy metal” futures. He argued that these radioactive metals were very valuable even when their primary used had passed. He is on YouTube, doing among other things, swallowing radioactive metals as well as recounting swimming in the radioactive waters of nuclear power stations he worked with.

There was a feeling if I remember right that “Gulf War syndrome” was somehow associated with radioactivity. It is more likely that it was the various jabs given to soldiers.
Galen Winsor was of the opinion depleted uranium rounds made tanks obsolete. Weapon systems are very expensive and therefore profitable for some. Ostensibly showy strength might have “comforting” and propaganda effect; to wit, the Red Square parade of tanks and missiles. In boxing the winner is the best fighter and not the one that often looks like a body builder. Tanks might be considered the “body builder” boxer compared to the uranium rounds. One has to wonder how long makers of plate armour carried on selling even after the arrival of muskets… Weapons and soldiers therefore might be symbolic of power than power itself. How effective would the monarch’s processions in London be if protection was really afforded by the clowns in fancy dress? What I’m suggesting is that even supposed “current” weapons systems — perhaps aircraft carriers — are no more than symbolic if countermeasures against them were really appreciated.
There is something disingenuous about describing a weapon as a “nuclear dirty” bomb that by its own omission if looking under the surface is no more than high explosive seeded with radioactive material. The man on the Clapham omnibus will repeat this fear meme without investigating its etymology. “Dirty bombs” are not mooted so often now as they were twenty or thirty years ago when “Peak Oil” , “HIV/AIDS”, and the coming “ice age” were popular mindspace viruses. Just goes to show these “tools” can be taken off the shelf, dusted off, and used once more.
There is another “nuke denier” like myself posting here who has suggested a “dirty nuclear” bomb could be spun as a “nuclear bomb” if accompanied by improved photoshopping, but the suggestive use of words in framing the narrative is useful too.

Much of the UK’s armoured capability is based at Lulworth in Dorset. There is a range there for firing too. A range that much of it is a no-go area thanks to DU shell firings in years gone by.
They know exactly how toxic this stuff is. The radioactive half-life for DU is 13000 years I believe.
