World War III has started. I hope that more Americans are starting to understand that the war in Ukraine is not a battle between the forces of Kiev and the forces of Moscow. Ukraine is a mere proxy. Russia is fighting NATO and Russia fully understands this. Russia realizes it confronts an existential threat and is conducting itself accordingly. It appears that most Western leaders think Russia is bluffing and, if faced with enough international pressure, will back down. It is that kind of stupidity that makes global war a looming possibility.
Up to this point, Russia has confined its military response to hitting Ukrainian targets and engaging Ukrainian and foreign mercernaries on the battlefield. But recent decisions by the U.S. and NATO countries to send more weapons and vehicles to Ukraine in a desperate bid to stave off Ukraine’s defeat on the battlefield risks a dramatic expansion of the conflict beyond the borders of Ukraine.
As Helmholtz Smith notes in his latest post, the United States and Europe are scrambling to provide a new batch of weapons and vehicles (depleting their own resources in the process). It carries an air of desperation and the progress of Russia in the Donbas during the last weak is exacerbating their fears. I think Putin and his team of military leaders understand precisely what is at stake and are taking very visible steps to show they are preparing for the worst. The PANTSIR is surface-to-air missile and anti-aircraft artillery system. Russia has several models, with the PANTSIR SM the most capable deployed system in its inventory. Russia is prepared for the possibility that Ukraine, with the encouragement of the U.S. and NATO, will launch an attack on Moscow with missiles or drones supplied by the West. If that happens, then that will mark a terrible watershed for an escalation in this war.
If or when a US or European munition hits a target in Crimea or Moscow, Russia will ratchet things up and will likely go after US or European targets in Ukraine. Depending on the severity of the attack, I believe that Russia would be ready to hit bases in Poland or Germany being used to train Ukrainian forces. Before they do that, however, I believe they would shutter the Embassies in DC, London and Germany and ensure that the West cannot take Russia’s diplomats and intelligence officers hostage. Worst case, we hit Moscow and Moscow hits DC. This could get out of hand very rapidly.
I am not trying to frighten you, but the way the West is reacting is not rational and certainly is not based on any strategic vision. Russia clearly realizes this is a hot war. The West still labors under the delusion that the U.S. and NATO are not combatants. Nope, they are just providing the tools, intelligence and planning that Ukraine needs to kill Russians. If this was a murder case, the U.S. and NATO could be charged as accessories.
I would ask those politicians and pundits in Washington, DC who are agitating for pouring more weapons into Ukraine how the United States would react if Russia was arming Mexican drug cartels with weapons that were killing American citizens? You know the answer. The American public would be howling in rage and demand retaliation. If you think that Russians, whose history is written in the blood of centuries of invaders, do not care about the threat that NATO presents on its western border then you know nothing of Russia’s tenacity in beating back such threats. These are very dangerous times.

So let’s look at NATO Nazis options, or more specifically, coalition of the willing’s options.
They can escalate, and maybe put uniforms in UKraine. Russia will still win.
They can attempt a decapitation strike. The Russians have already taken visible precautions. But make no mistake, such a strike will lead to a full blown nuclear war, and Russia will likely win. They have more effective weapons, and they have a much better missile defence system. NATO will lose all of its carries within 4 hours of nuclear war starting. The UK won’t exist within 15 minutes, because the Russians won’t just use enough nukes to destroy the UK, they’ll use twice what is required. When Russian TV presenters says ‘Nuke the UK, and wipe it off the face of the Earth’, this might sound extreme, but the truth is, these public rants have actually been toned down.
I would say that Russia has a special nuclear strike plan for the UK, within the overall Russian nuke plan. Sorry Ireland, I just hope the wind is favorable for you.
Many months ago I said there’s hope, and that members of the French and German militaries would tell their leaders to abandon the US, and leave NATO. Well, that window passed, but there’s still hope, but now it won’t be a warning, just a plain military coup. This is the only hope, that NATO visibly fractures and that these military leaders eject all US and UK forces from their lands.
This is our only chance, but it is an outlier.
Once NATO start targeting Russian City’s, then the US will witness scenes never seen before, US City’s burning all over the US, just like Dresden WW2 !!!
I suspect Russia sees the need to destroy US-led NATO’s weapons in Ukraine in an existential fight against the west, and it can do that without advancing beyond Ukraine because the west is coming to it. Maybe this is the main reason why Russia is taking its time instead of rolling through Ukraine months ago as it probably could have. It is timing the end of the war in Ukraine with ending the west’s ability to wage war upon it, and so it doesn’t want to end the war too soon and leave the west a stock of weapons upon which to reinvigorate itself. Then once its weapons supply is spent, concentrate on crashing the dollar to prevent rapid rearmament. Corrupt western politicians might wish to rearm and ignore the needs of their impoverished people, so make sure the people’s needs are such that they act forcefully against the politicians and so in Russia’s favour. Maybe then deals can be made and aide delivered.

If anything, this is a very “nursed” war. lending to the contrivance theory. Russia after invading the eastern regions of the Ukraine on its borders by the end of April 2022 had troops, equipment, with intact supply, lines poised for giant pincer movement which likely would have trapped the Ukrainian forces (all incidentally without any proper air cover for a modern war), east of the Dnipro River which essentially divides the nation between east and west. The opportunity was there especially with such a rag-tag opposition but perhaps Russia was under the restraint of having to appear only to be waging a defensive war for the Russian-speaking people in the regions on its own borders. Russia appears to be avoiding escalation and the West is doing it slow mo. Nevertheless, if a real war with Russia pitted against NATO, then why not, just take the entire area to put an end to the conflict and then allow for the making of an actual neutral zone which Russia already proposed?

…I think Russia already knows what it will do, if and when their country is seriously attacked by Ukraine using NATO and US weapons systems, logistics and training. I think Russia has gamed this out in many different ways, and already know how they will choose to respond or escalate. Were I Russia…and was absorbing this proxy war with NATO…I think I would target any US, British or French Aircraft Carrier Group or Groups anywhere in the world. I don’t know if they will target the Carriers alone, or use an underwater nuke and attack all service ships supporting the Carrier…but I would definitely crush those antiquated weapons systems. Imagine NATO trying to explain to their people, how tens of thousands of sailors are dead, and billions in steel are sitting on the ocean floor…all from one attack. I think the populations of these countries would stand up and demand a peaceful solution. I think the PR problems associated with knowing your main military assets were just flushed down the toilet would be overwhelming, and may wake up a lot of the population. Those Carriers are great when launching attacks against countries unable to defend themselves, but watch a hypersonic missile take out a carrier, or a nuke torpedo decimate the entire strike force…with thousand of dead in the water…then multiply that by 5 or six, depending on how many they can take out. The West will be shown to be the paper-tiger bully we have seen around the world for the last 70 years.

A ‘presidential crisis’ is clearly brewing rapidly in the US. That will serve as a good excuse for the US to forget about Ukraine. Zelenski with scarper off into hiding or be done in. A serious ceasefire will be arranged by the Russian and Ukrainian top brass. Everybody will swear that the terrible fate of the Ukrainian frontline soldiers was all the fault of little Zelenski and his masters. The AZOVs will turn tail and dash off to find hiding places. The friendly Russian Army will flood Ukraine with food and comforts. The Poles are the only wild card. They might be stupid enough to try to take Western Ukraine. But perhaps not even they are stupid enough to do that. Then it will all be happily ever after. What d’ya say?

The reason for the “no nukes” hoax/belief is that nuclear weapons are so powerful, that if unleashed on a city, the devastation is so horrific it is unimaginable. Thus, a city dweller, without the will to survive, just denies their existence. Denial of nukes is how many people stay sane in a world gone mad.
