Russia appears to be preparing for another large-scale air attack on Ukraine with dozens of bombers spotted massing at a key airbase.
Two dozen Tu-95 and Tu-160 long-range bombers have gathered at Engels-2 air base, near the city of Saratov, alongside fuel tanks, support vehicles, and repair supplies.
Analysts say crates – likely ammunition boxes containing Kh-55 and Kh-101 cruise missiles – are also visible near the aircraft, suggesting a large-scale attack on Ukraine is ‘imminent.’
The attack will almost certainly focus on destroying Ukraine’s already-battered power and water network which has been pounded by cruise missiles and Iranian-made kamikaze drones in recent weeks, leaving people freezing in their homes.
Images of the airfield were captured on November 28 and first published by Germany’s Der Spiegel.
Arda Mevlutoğlu, a military analyst, told the magazine: ‘The unusually high number of bombers on the tarmac is an indication of an increase in operations, if not an imminent large-scale attack.’
Ukraine has been bracing for more Russian air strikes with at least two country-wide air raid alerts issued this week that were subsequently called off.
President Volodymyr Zelensky, speaking on Sunday, also warned that Russia is planning more attacks.
He told viewers in his nightly address: ‘We understand that the terrorists are planning new strikes. We know this for a fact.
‘And as long as they have missiles, they, unfortunately, will not calm down.
Zelensky said the coming week could be as difficult as the previous week, when attacks on electricity infrastructure subjected Ukrainians to the most acute power cuts since Russian troops invaded in February.
NATO leaders are currently meeting in Romania to discuss the next phase of support for Ukraine, with advanced missile defences top of the agenda.
Jen Stoltenberg, head of the alliance, and US officials have suggested talks are ongoing to give Patriot anti-air defences to Kyiv.
The missile batteries are adept at shooting down incoming rockets but are complex and difficult to operate, meaning they are often supplied with an experienced crew.
For example, when Germany has lent Patriot batteries to Slovakia and Turkey in the past they have also supplied men to operate the weapon.
That complicates the picture in Ukraine, due to fears Russia would try to target the Patriots and could end up killing NATO personnel potentially sparking war between global super-powers.
Dmitry Medvedev, former Russian president and now head of the security council, warned yesterday that NATO would be making itself a ‘legitimate target’ by supplying the weapons.
He wrote on Telegram: ‘If… NATO supplies Kyiv fanatics with Patriot complexes along with NATO personnel, they will immediately become a legitimate target…
‘I hope the Atlantic impotents understand this.’
Kyiv says around 50 per cent of its energy infrastructure is damaged including a third of its power generating capacity, leading to blackouts across the country.
Entire cities, including the capital Kyiv, are being plunged into darkness for hours or days at a time even as temperatures fall below freezing.
Mr Stoltenberg has accused Putin of trying to ‘weaponise winter’ and spark a new wave of refugees into Europe after failing to achieve victory on the battlefield.
Never-the-less, Ukraine’s Western allies have vowed to keep supporting the country for ‘however long it takes’ to achieve victory.

When you read Chris Pleasance, you are reading MI6. While the jist of this article is probably true, Pleasance is in the Daily Fail’s top 5 lying presstitutes.
Not only is this bomber attack a prelude to Russias major Winter ground offensive, but the use of air power is a warning to NATO, because up until now, Russia has used minimal air forces.
Indeed, take ‘however long it takes’ to make a few dozen more billionaires out of the messy Ukraine.

The United States(NATO), bear direct responsibility for this continuing crises. Stop sending arms to Ukraine and insist to the nutjob Zelensky that something bad will happen to him if he continues to ignore Russia’s legitimate concerns. More Stupidity or Theatrics? Or Both?
Is this simply superpower stupidity threatening to wreck the world with a WWIII or more superpower theatrics to create in us, the common people, the mother of all fears to justify their ushering in of their totally planned UN-WEF-NWO totalitarian controls? After Covid and Russia’s full participation in all of the frauds, how can anyone think otherwise?
On one hand, if these powers really cannot resolve their problems in a civilized way, then at least one of the combatant powers is uncivilized and intent on escalation – which appears in all respects to be the US. That is the nation which created the UN, the Agendas, and the entire Covid fraud, and has publicly cast off any authority of facts, reasons, and the rule of the people, all to serve the interests of the most powerful people of that nation. So, it is entirely likely that the US will keep escalating all of the insanity, because looking at what is happening in that nation it does appear to be quite insane. But that should be no surprise because from its inception the US has always been a very aggressive and violent nation.
However, the plot thickens because under the auspices of the USSR, Russia performed its role exceedingly well with the US in serving in the greatest protection racket and reality theatre in history, know as “the Cold War”, which provided the US the opportunity to take over numerous smaller nations all over the globe based on the pretext of making them “safe” from communism, while at the same time the Western money-power continued to bankroll the USSR and ensured it had an armaments industry large enough to ensure the huge expansion of the US MIC. The USSR (Russia) of course was able to extend its own orb of power on the world stage, and that is why there is a real clash between Israel and Russia over Syria – which may have something rather fundamental to do with the conflict in the Ukraine.
Now, if the US is not so insane then it likely has already cooked up with Russia the conflict over the Ukraine for the interests of the controlling establishment of both nations to create the mother of all perils and ensure the alleged “necessity” the long-sought goal of the Western money-power in securing global hegemony over finances and trade through the front of a NWO government.
How else does anyone explain the most globalist NWO-orientated administration running the US empire at this time and at the same time backing all of the anti-Russian build up in the Ukraine and the continuing CIA and US & UK military provocations against any moving thing which looked Russian over the past 7 years in the Donbas? How can the UN, NWO present US administration and “leader nation” be refusing to reason and negotiate a peace in the disputed area, with its old ally and comrade in arm, and both political factions of that nation at the same time adopt an aggressive nationalist footing against Russia?
My googling has not turned up anything to corroborate this Daily Fail article. Its coming so soon after Ursula Von Der Leyen’s mad claim that ‘over 100,000 Ukrainian soldiers have been killed’, followed rapidly by her withdrawal of it without apology, and coupled with the fact of the NATO meeting in Rumania (26-30 November 2022), part of the agenda of which was said to be a decison by members on the best further weapons aid to Ukraine, it is rather likely that Chris Pleasance’s article is a desperate propaganda shot to urge huge donations of better murderous weapons to Ukraine, ASAP, to defeat ‘depraved’ Russia.

The Russians must at last see that the US and its UK puppet are intending to escalate further. They will never stop. They are beyond reason. No negotiation or treaty has any meaning.
Russia must finish this. Destroy power stations, roads leading to the West and all rail hubs. Cut Ukraine off from the outside world. Nothing must move. No heat. No light. Nothing. Total collapse of Ukraine as a state. Riots in the streets. Finally, civil war.
Russia should avoid having an army of Uke refugees moving West. Yes, in the short term this would cause chaos in the West, but in the long term it would also give the West an army of future terrorists.
