Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky has issued a serious warning about the future of the Russian conflict after President Vladimir Putin’s missiles struck neighbouring Poland.

Two Polish residents were killed when suspected wayward missiles hit the village of Przewodow, with the strike marking the first time a nation outside of Ukraine has been directly affected by the war.

President Zelensky labelled the Russian strikes a “significant escalation” in President Putin’s illegal invasion and warned that if more countries did not join the fight against Russia, the desolation would spread.

“How many times has Ukraine said that the terrorist state will not be limited to our country?,” President Zelensky said in a five-minute video responding to the reports.

“It’s only a matter of time before Russian terror goes further. It is necessary to put the terrorist in place! The longer Russia feels impunity, the more threats there will be to everyone who can be reached by Russian missiles.

“Hitting missiles on NATO territory… This is a Russian missile attack on collective security! This is a very significant escalation. We must act.”

The Ukrainian President expressed his sympathy to Poland and vowed to stand by the western neighbour.

“Russian missiles hit Poland, the territory of our friendly country. People died. Please accept condolences from all Ukrainian brothers!” he said.

“And I want to say now to all our Polish brothers and sisters… Ukraine will always support you! Terror will not break free people! Victory is possible when there is no fear! You and I don’t have it.”
