The secret British intelligence plot to blow up Crimea’s Kerch Bridge is revealed in internal documents and correspondence obtained exclusively by The Grayzone.
The Grayzone has obtained an April 2022 presentation drawn up for senior British intelligence officers hashing out an elaborate scheme to blow up Crimea’s Kerch Bridge with the involvement of specially trained Ukrainian soldiers. Almost six months after the plan was circulated, Kerch Bridge was attacked in an October 8th suicide bombing apparently overseen by Ukraine’s SBU intelligence services.
Detailed proposals for providing “audacious” support to Kiev’s “maritime raiding operations” were drafted at the request of Chris Donnelly, a senior British Army intelligence operative and veteran high ranking NATO advisor. The wide-ranging plan’s core component was “destruction of the bridge over the Kerch Strait.”
Documents and correspondence plotting the operation were provided to The Grayzone by an anonymous source.

I don’t expect perfection from non-native English speakers, but I find it intensely irritating to hear complete IDIOTS who should know better starting a sentence with “I mean” or “you know”. At least this one doesn’t keep saying “yeah no” or “no yeah”, or even “like” before each sentence, as some do.
I’m tempted to ask “why carn em learn to talk proper, like what I does?”, but they wouldn’t understand.
“I mean” should precede an explanation of something the speaker has already said.
“You know” implies the listener is already aware of something.
“Like” isn’t (mis)used very much nowadays, but should denote a comparison.
“Yeah no” and it’s opposite “no yeah” is pure gibberish, two words cancelling each other out.
Is this the kind of thing being “taught” in schools nowadays, or is the BBC to blame?

Democracy is essentially rule by the majority but when relevant information on issues of importance is not disclosed to the people, and they are misled, manipulated, and regularly lied to by the power elites, then neither representative democracy nor responsible democracy can work. Is such a state it cannot reflect the will of the people, and the entire electoral process becomes a sham.
As for the concept of the will of the majority ruling, it is reflected even in most autocratic organizations such as in corporate boards, courts of appeal, within government boards and cabinets, within our legislatures to make laws, and even with the election of popes. Why then do you think that the people who make up a nation and actually own it, ought not to know the facts and be able to register their own views and wills in the way it is run?
The democratic ideal presupposes that whether or not the majority is right or wrong on an issue or in an election, that the differences of opinions and issues are best decided by the majority, and if not then at least for decision makers knowing that if they ignore will of the majority and make a stupid decision, they are accountability to that majority.
There is no guarantee in a democracy that people will vote in wise ways, but on that basis in our nations where the media is mainly controlled by special interests, both private and ideological, the checks and balances from the people in how they are governed is effectively lost. Generally speaking, if things are brought out into the open then there is a better chance in the debate and judgment process that truth and reason will have chance where people can better foresee the consequences of their choices and make wiser decisions in their own interests and in the interests of others. Otherwise, shy even send your kids to school except to be successful slave serving those who claim to own everything?
The democratic system is anything but mob rule and presupposes that with the unadulterated facts there is a better chance that the majority of a body will act wisely in the interests of that body. The real problem I see with democracy is the fact that people voting to protect or advance their own minority or private interests against the will of the majority can suffer great harm and that is why we have constitutions and bills of rights with courts acting as a checks to the abuses of the majority, or on governments who say they are representing the common good.
Just imagine you are in a world democracy under a proposed New World Order government, where the poor nations totally outnumber the richer ones and demand wealth transfer payments to equalize and level everything across the board? If that were the case and you lived in a richer nation you probably would want to use your money and influence to ensure you were not robbed into the poorhouse. This is precisely why we must retain sovereignty over “our” nations, and also within them there must be strong constitutional protections for the integrity of the person, as well as protection for private property rights, mainly from that mob you seem to be worried about.
In a healthy nation where everything is running smoothly, and there is little or no deception, fear mongering or oppression from the top, you have a thing called “trust” and with that the majority will generally do what is in the common good for the nation and for other nations as well. When that trust breaks down so does everything else and that is when you get chaos and mob rule.
