- Germany, the region’s largest economy and traditional growth driver, has a particular reason to worry.
- It’s largely reliant on Russian gas and is sliding toward a recession.
- The possibility of a recession in Europe now seems “clear-cut,” Citi economists and strategists said in a note Tuesday.
Europe’s descent into an economic contraction looks to have been confirmed with Russia squeezing natural gas supplies to the region and heavy industry facing tough rationing in the coming months.
Just days after Europeans breathed a sigh of relief as Russian gas giant Gazprom announced it would resume supplies through the Nord Stream 1 pipeline, it then announced Monday that flows would be reduced yet again.
The announcement, with Gazprom saying it would be for maintenance of a turbine along the pipeline, was greeted with incredulity and condemnation in Europe.
Ukraine’s president, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, said the move — which will see flows to Germany fall to 20% of its capacity from an already low level of 40% — was tantamount to a “gas war” with Europe. Germany’s economy minister, Robert Habeck, said the excuse that maintenance was the reason for the supply cut was a “farce.”
It puts Europe in a tricky situation as it contends with rampant inflation, the war in Ukraine and an already troubled supply chain following the Covid-19 pandemic.
Germany, the region’s largest economy and traditional growth driver, has a particular reason to worry. It’s largely reliant on Russian gas and is sliding toward a recession. The government is particularly concerned about how it will keep the lights on over the winter: Habeck said Monday evening that “we have a serious situation. It is time for everyone to understand that,” during an interview with broadcaster ARD.

Russia isn’t squeezing gas supplies. The EU is failing to comply with payment and repair of Nord Stream 1 has been blocked by sanctions, and a 2nd turbine needs repair.
Dead easy, open Nord Stream 2. lol, lol
Let the Gemanys freeze, and let the factories close down.
Like I said about 2 months ago. The German military should have couped their US controlled regime and then pulled out of NATO. Want Frosty Snowman cake, now eat it.
And that wasn’t the whole purpose of this “war”. Restore the Kazar homeland, deplete the Wests military supplies, and starve the West of Energy and wheat supplies. In addition it acts as a distraction till the winter vaxx season, “engineered”, freezing weather, and fuel shortages come. Vaxx passport to buy food possibly. They need us useless eaters killed by 2025 to please the Davos parasites.
This is the world of Alice in wonderland.
Trans freaks and sexual deviants and perverts crawling out the woodwork like cockroaches while demented crackheads cause war.
It’s all going DOWN.
With fools leading the blind how can it go any other way.
This is just part of the evolutionary process. The world becomes soft and lazy and natural cycles weed out the weak and the noisy.
Recession is too weak a term to describe what’s coming. It’s a bit like calling Al Capone naughty.
This is good–Kalergi country is bound to get hurt, and deserves it for the racial vandalism

Haven’t you figured it out yet? Looks like Schwab’s ‘young global leader’ Putin is advantageously progressing/benefiting the WEF scheme. I posted this months ago:

Because both ‘sides’ (NATO/Russia) are actually directed by the same transnational cult of Zionist-Communist Cryptocrats successfully advancing their WEF politico-economic-demographic policies according to the Marxist dialectic…

Countries world wide should demand peace talks to end the Ukraine War.
These countries should also consider sanctions against America, this would
end the present chaos and the world would be a much safer place.
There may be those who would also include Gt Britain.
The title of this article is utter bullshit – Jew spin. Russia will sell EU all the gas it wants if it pays in Rubles.
Why? Because EU banks STOLE $300 billion in Russia accounts according to Lavrov.

Over $300 bln paid for Russian gas stolen by West from Russia – Lavrov
Russian Foreign Minister stressed that Russia has decided to switch to rubles in payments for its gas in order to stop “the shameless robbery” by the West
MOSCOW, April 29. /TASS/. Western nations have actually stolen more than 300 billion US dollars from Russia when they seized the money meant to pay for Russian gas, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said in an interview with Al Arabiya TV on Friday.
“The contracts that were signed before this situation provided for payments in dollars and euros. These payments were transferred directly to Gazprom accounts and were kept in Western banks. When aster the beginning of the special military operation in Ukraine our Western ‘friends’ stole more than 300 billion dollars from us, as a matter of fact, they stole what they have paid for gas. In other words, they have been using our gas for free for all these years,” he said.
He stressed that Russia has decided to switch to rubles in payments for its gas in order to stop “the shameless robbery” by the West. “London, Washington, Brussels are looking at seizing the money they have frozen to transfer it to someone else,” he noted.
According to the Russia top diplomat, nothing has actually changed for the buyers of Russian gas. He recalled that Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree “saying that from this moment payments should be done not to Gazprom’s accounts in Western banks but to Gazprom-bank, in dollars and euros.” “Nothing has changed. The same sum in a foreign policy under the corresponding contract. And then, euros and dollars will be transferred to the ruble account in Gazprom-bank,” he added.
Don’t need gas, unless you are not a free country. White Men have worked out many energy sources, Yid man has shouted “Oi Vey, shut it down!” many times
Hungary’s PM Viktor Orban insisted that his country’s economy cannot do without Russian oil and gas, and the EU caved in. Why could Germany’s Stoltz not have done that too? Why, instead, has Germany simply accepted the EU sanctions decree that it knew full well will devastate its economy? Why, instead, did Germany not exit the EU, or at least threaten to do so? Something is very strange here: Germany is co-operating with the EU to destroy its, the EU’s biggest economy. This does not add up. I am very surprised that this is happening almost unremarked. What is expected to happen to the EU when its biggest net contributor sinks under the pressure of the EU’s own sanctions?
> Self inflicted who cares let the morons freeze to death
It may have escaped your notice, but the german people have no more control of their country than you do, so they did not inflict it on themselves. Even the “thickos” going along with all the crap didn’t have anything to do with it.
@ wren: ‘… the german people have no more control of their country than you do’
Yes, this is a very strange business. I have long thought that article 107 of the UN Chater underpins it:
‘Article 107
Nothing in the present Charter shall invalidate or preclude action, in relation to any state which during the Second World War has been an enemy of any signatory to the present Charter, taken or authorized as a result of that war by the Governments having responsibility for such action.’
Germany and Japan certainly fit the ‘enemy’ status of this provision. The other WWII Axis powers would too. But only Japan and Germany still have a US military presence.
This is the only semblance of ‘evidence’ I have come upon of your remark I quoted above. But yours is a remark that is often made.
Strangely enough, although there is a vast academic literature on the UN Charter, no-one has ever addressed article 107. I researched this intensively when, years ago, I was writing my academic thesis on the UN Charter. And I have been looking ever since. Still nothing. In 1991, Japan made a bid to have this article deleted. Nothing came of it, and Germany was not interested.
Is it just possible that Germany and Japan were able to make themselves leading world economies very soon after WWII, and to remain such economies, because they are permanently fixed US vassal states pursuant to article 107? And is it because of this article that Germany is now agreeing so readily to let its economy be trashed by the EU sanctions decree?
If someone has an insight here, please tell me about it.
The Russians should push harder – if Germany collapses, then the EU (most of which survives on German cash-for-votes subsidies), goes with it.
Hey Rixon, I did some meditation about EU stiffing Russia 300 billion in the article quoted above.
Something was stuck in my craw, I know there is much more to this story, so I had to meditate it into words – and here is what I got:
1. The EU stiffed Russia on gas payments because they are bankrupt – and they can not pay Russia’s Gazprom in deposits to a Russian bank because they don’t have the money.
2. The whole shebang has been a poker game. The EU has been bankrupt for some time, and they have been milking Russia for free gas KNOWING they could not pay – so this whole Ukraine stink was an opportunity for the EU to default on it’s debt – the money in the accounts owed for gas.
3. Ha ha! They ain’t paying ’cause they ain’t got the money. War is just a charade to cover up the fact that the socialist states of the EU are really bankrupt and have been for some time.
4. Zelensky and company are looting the US Treasury in a war they can not win. Jews on the inside KNOW THE GAME IS UP – so this ball of slimy Judaic tape worms is having their last meal before the host dies. Jews have literally contrived this conflict with Russia as a way to fool and loot the USA one last time.
This is all a manufactured crisis by Germany and the EU criminal cabal. Sure they dont have to agree with the Ukraine war, but the idiot Sholtz has a responsibility to his own country and its citizens first. Anything less is treason.
@Sophie Johnson : The occupation that began after the destruction of Hitler’s Germany in Spring of 1945 remains an occupation, by the US gov, for it is they that are the total occupying power and have always been in charge, even in the other zones such as the French and the British, in West Germany. That is why the French and British have all, basically, gone home while the Americans have stayed. They are in charge.
The so-called government of the Federal Republic of Germany is but an administration that has been put in place by the occupation powers – in fact by none other that the USA – and nothing more.
And the so-called reunification of the Federal Republic with the German Democratic Republic was pushed through by the same power, namely the US, as it suited its purposes for the expansion of NATO towards the territory of the former Warsaw Pact and, after its demise, all the way to the borders of Russia.
West Germany, aka the Federal Republic of Germany, never was freed by the occupiers as never a peace treaty has been worked out and signed and the only paper that exists is the capitulation of the Nazi forces to the Allied powers in the West and the consequent agreement of cessation of hostilities and the ceasefire.
The Punch and Judy show rolls on, with Putin ACTING as the villain, as usual.
Whatever has transpired since 2020, it’s all been about slashing the consumption of resources.
Time to de-industrialize. Consumers aren’t needed anymore. The 1% now want to own EVERYTHING.
We haven’t taken the jab in sufficient numbers, so we must be starved and frozen to death.
They’re already floating insect farms, cannibalism, mandatory euthanasia as ‘viable’ options = tomorrow’s policy = next year’s law.
See what happens to you if you interfere with the Jewish money laundering business ?!
“The Thickos” are worse than just being thick. They would bring back public hangings just to keep them amused, TV addicts to a man, or woman, or non binary thicko.
@ Sophie Johnson
The key, here, I think, is not with Article 107 but Article 41. Germany and Japan accepted American bases on their soil, initially, because they had no choice, as defeated belligerents. Post-war, the two countries were quickly integrated within the international commercial/ financial matrix.
Export trade with prosperous markets (i.e. the USA) became essential to their economies – and the quality of their products (or not) helped toward the recovery of their prestige as nations. They also needed some degree of military defense, which they themselves were prohibited from organizing.
The question here, though, is one of economic diktat, less so, of military (NATO) jurisdiction, at least as yet.
Here’s Article 41 (of Chapter VII) of the UN Charter:
“The Security Council may decide what measures not involving the use of armed forces are to be employed to give affect to its decisions, and it may call upon the members of the United Nations to apply such measures. These may include partial interruption of economic relations and of rail, sea, air, postal, telegraphic, radio and other means of communications, and the severance of diplomatic relations.”
Sorry,
“These may include COMPLETE or partial interruption of economic relations…”
wren: of course they are responsible. You hold the classic NWO position, that indivdules have no say, and no power. We’re talking about decades of thicko sheeple making terrible decisions which compound their previous decisions.
I am supported by two facts. The majority vote, and the majority of those who don’t vote, don’t care.
Just because I am 1 individual who holds a particular view, this doesn’t make me wrong.
Sophie, this may seem far fetched but less we grasp debt bondage, NOTHING makes sense.
The “UN” is just that, to UN-do all nations. Its a mere de-facto fiction with ZERO authority to do anything less people in ignorance give it authority and credibility. Just another banker scam, nothing more. ALL countries are operated as Municipal service corporations, all registered at SEC in Washington DC, i.e. debt conduits for the bankers, who produce NOTHING, only convert promissory notes(your “loan” agreement) into credit, based on NOTHING and turns around and “lend” you, your own credit, that you created with YOUR OWN SIGANTURE.
This is extremely good, will fly way over most’s head though:

> The key, here, I think, is not with Article 107 but Article 41.
You’re obviously one of those who think “laws” mean something. When one party has enough money or power all the “articles” in the world won’t stop them doing whatever they want.
> wren: of course they are responsible. You hold the classic NWO position, that indivdules have no say, and no power. We’re talking about decades of thicko sheeple making terrible decisions which compound their previous decisions.
It’s not a “classic NWO position”, it’s a fact, although you use it as a club. If anyone had any way to change anything anywhere then things wouldn’t be the way they are would they? There are no “decades of thicko sheeple making terrible decisions” — give an example if you think it is so. Did the “thicko sheeple” “allow” iraq to be raped? Or “9/11” to be done? Or the current war to begin? Did those P&O workers allow their jobs to be taken by the “immigrants”? How would they stop any of them or any of the thousands of other things done to them? No one is making any “decisions” about their lives beyond which slave camp they work in. That’s the root of the problem — a total lack of power — but you suggest that they have instead misused this nonexistent power in some way.
> I am supported by two facts. The majority vote, and the majority of those who don’t vote, don’t care.
Voting? Are you nuts? Are you telling us you think “democracy” is a thing? I repeat: are you nuts?
Germany the “largest economy and growth driver”–people have no idea what they are led into with this language; growth is only “needed” because money is lent into existence with interest on the repayment and this interest compounded, and the victims need to keep finding more money from somewhere. All people and governments are encouraged to keep borrowing more and never stop to think why they are working for the predator. The words “economy” and “growth” are just big hammers for your head
@ wren
Citing an article of international law doesn’t imply any belief. That is a logical fallacy. Did you bother to read the text of Article 41? My point was, that it is one identifiable legal mechanism, by which supranational agency controls sovereign nations, allowing the globalists to do “whatever they want.” Your observations are unpertaining and irrelevant.
I noticed that as “non” the other day, you again accused a reader of being rich because you didn’t like their style of expression. You said this about me as well, with no evidential basis, other than that you thought my language was high-faluting. Can you not see, that it’s arrogant in the extreme, to proclaim you know something of someone, when you don’t. You got it very wrong with me.
Your purpose isn’t the discussion of ideas. You use these pages as an outlet for your personal resentments. Yesterday, as “dr no” and “knot” you ignorantly scoffed at excess (vaccine) mortality statistics. Today as “vin” you bring scorn to the efforts of parents in Britain organizing against drag queen paedophilia; news that even Peter Petherington, found it within himself, to be positive about! At today’s Arthur Firstenberg article, as “red” you bring some nihilistic dross to bear. I anticipate that your next post will be similarly derisory as well but – will we even know it’s from you?
You’ll be hiding behind yet another new moniker, to avoid open and honest discourse.
You are Socratic laughingstock and worse, you’re a coward.

@ DICARLO, andyay, Randolph
I am very grateful to you all for giving me the benefit of your thoughts. I have spent the entire day, since early morning, thinking with them. (This UN Charter business haunts me like a disease.)
Dicarlo, I struggled with this basic fact you propose: ‘West Germany, aka the Federal Republic of Germany, never was freed by the occupiers as never a peace treaty has been worked out and signed…’. But yes: This does explain the quasi-definition of article 107 of Germany as the perpetual ‘enemy’. I suppose there is a similar ‘no peace treaty’ explanation in the case of Japan, i.e., the American occupation has just continued? This does explain the present-day behaviour of Germany vis-a-vis Ukraine, and of Japan!
andyay, I am having difficulty with yoir article 41 proposal. I can see the pro-West Germany and Japan contribution of the initial US military presence: West Germany and Japan were forbidden an army, and the Soviet Union was reasonably presumed to pose a threat to West Germany especially, and possibly also to Japan. At huge odds with this, though, was that West Germany was left to starve until Herbert Hoover intervened in 1948. Possibly, that can be dismissed as a blip in the master plan.
Also, both Japan and Germany have remained the perpetual post-WWII American allies, arguably perforce, given their coninuing American military presence. And this might be an uncanny present-day consequece of that military presence: Germany must let its huge economy collapse rather than rely on Russian oil and gas. Ouch.
Randolph, thank you for that debt-bondage link. I am only one-third of the way through it. But I shall certainly hear it out. The internal logic of the womb-to-tomb construction of debt-bondage and its nation cancellation, insisted upon by the narrator, rings so very true. The bloody matrix, no less, out of which you cannot break! 🙂 Its very language is tightly constructed, veritabbly the coercive grammar.
Damn it thoigh! It is just a construct, so it can be kicked over. (Or so says my scared-silly instinct.) But seriously: all that is needed is the proper decent collapse of the US dollar. And there are many presages of its doom around. Would you come at that?
