Paul Joseph Watson – SUMMIT News June 13, 2022

Vladimir Putin plans to trigger a global hunger crisis that will unleash waves of ‘refugees’ who will then be weaponized to create “instability” in European countries, according to Yale professor Timothy Snyder.

In a lengthy Twitter thread, Snyder explains his position that the Russian president is “preparing to starve much of the developing world as the next stage in his war in Europe” by continuing its blockade of grain supplies from Ukraine.

“If the Russian blockade continues, tens of millions of tons of food will rot in silos, and tens of millions of people in Africa and Asia will starve,” claims Snyder.

The professor of history says Putin wants to provoke a world famine that will cause mass starvation and food riots, prompting untold numbers of migrants to flood into European countries.

“Putin’s hunger plan is also meant to generate refugees from North Africa and the Middle East, areas usually fed by Ukraine. This would generate instability in the EU,” tweeted Snyder.

After reading the above you have to wonder how Timothy Synder ever became a professor and ended up teaching at Yale. I would not be surprised if Snyder earned his academic laurels and prestigious teaching post simply by spouting politically correct nonsense like the above.

I write that not as a supporter of Putin but simply because of the facts:

-> Nearly a month ago Russia offered to set up a “safe corridor” for ships carrying Ukrainian grain exports through the Black Sea.

-> Kiev responded by rejecting Russian calls to de-mine its Black Sea ports so as to resume grain shipments.

So grain exports from Ukraine are not being held up by a Russian naval blockade but by Ukrainian obstinacy.

Given that the West has extensively supported Ukraine, you have to wonder whether Kiev’s policy on this matter was decided on the “advice” of its Western benefactors. After all, the West has poured billions in aid and weapons into Ukraine so they have some degree of leverage over Zelensky. So, if Washington, London etc really wanted to avoid a global food crisis they could simply threaten to withhold their largesse if the ports weren’t reopened.

But they haven’t, which makes the West complicit in holding up grain shipments from Ukraine. Not Russia.

The fact Snyder cannot see this obvious fact suggests that he may be working at the behest of one of America’s covert agencies in an effort to smear Putin/Russia. Ed.
