There are about 8,000 Ukrainian prisoners of war in the Donetsk People’s Republic and the Luhansk People’s Republic. The numbers were claimed by the LPR Ambassador to Russia on May 26th.
“There are a lot of prisoners. Of course, there are more of them on the territory of the DPR, but we also have enough. Now the total figure is about 8 thousand. That’s a lot, and literally hundreds are added every day,” LPR Ambassador to Russia Rodion Miroshnik said in his interview.
Amid the growing number of the deserters in the ranks of the AFU, the Kiev regime is trying its best to threaten its own military by legal and illegal means.
On May 24th, a bill has been submitted to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, according to which officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine would be allowed to kill servicemen who refuse to follow orders and decide to leave their positions without permission. The initiator was the representative of the party of Vladimir Zelensky “Servant of the People” Mariana Bezuglaya. At the moment, the Ukrainian officers are allowed to use a weapon or give an order to subordinates to use it only if it is not possible to stop the criminal activities of the servicemen in any other way. At the same time, it should be used without causing death to a serviceman.
Later, the bill allowing Ukrainian officers to kill deserters has been shelved from the Verkhovna Rada.
Despite the official prohibition to kill their own servicemen, numerous cases of the deaths of the Ukrainian soldiers killed by their comrades have been recorded so far. Some Ukrainian prisoners of war also confirm that special groups, mainly consisting of the members of the nationalist formations were killing Ukrainian servicemen who attempted to flee from the battlefields.
On May 26, another case was revealed on the Donbass front lines. After the AFU units fled from their positions during the offensive of the Armed Forces of the Russia, the bodies of servicemen with their hands tied and gunshot wounds in the back of the head were found in an unidentified area. According to the reports, these servicemen attempted to surrender, but were executed by the members of the Ukrainian nationalist battalion.

Hundreds of AFU servicemen who recorded official appeals to the supreme military command of Ukraine, refusing to fight, were sentenced to prison.
Today, a large number of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine found themselves in a very difficult situation on the front line. Large groups of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were cut off from military supplies and were almost surrendered in Severodonetsk, Lisichansk, Zolotoye, etc. Ukrainian servicemen are forced to retreat along the entire front line, suffering heavy losses. The entire battalions of the AFU are doomed to become cannon fodder for the Russian artillery. The morale of the Ukrainian Armed Forces is deteriorating, especially after the fall of the Azovstal garrison in the city of Mariupol, which was promoted as the main ideological fortress of the Ukrainian resistance. At the same time, Russia has launched a special information campaign demonstrating that hundreds of Ukrainian prisoners of war are safe and sound, they stay in good conditions and receive all the necessary medical care in captivity.
As a result of the Kiev’s policy, Ukrainian soldiers have no choice. Rather, they are fighting to their deaths, rather those who want to stay alive and surrender to the Russian military will be killed by their own officers or imprisoned.

Although the bill was shelved, it indicates an extreme degree of desperation on the part of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, that legislation to allow summary execution of its own soldiery in the field, should even have been considered by the cabinet.
The minister of the department, who proposed these measures, must have a vertiginously heightened sense of her own legal authority. Her name is given in the article as Mariana Bezuglaya.
I’m not certain about this – but I believe that her surname, as given, is in the nominative case, indicating a feminine gender proper noun. Her name is also written Mariana (or Maryana) Bezuhla. If there should be any Ukrainian speakers out there who can confirm or correct this, I’d appreciate it. Bezuhla seems to be the more commonly used version of her surname.
Either way, this 34 year-old woman is something of a mystery. She became an M.P. in 2019, after joining Zelensky’s party earlier in the same year. She is a medical doctor, a family practicioner indeed, professionally. Another murderous doctor!
She graduated as a G.P. before continuing her studies at the Ukrainian Military Medical Academy. What’s interesting is what she then did. She went to the U.S. as a State Department internée. Wikipedia offers no further detail beyond this; no dates; nor do we know who hired her. Some of this information may be given at her social media page profiles but I don’t use any such platforms and so I’m stumped there.
Given that she was born in 1988 and spent five years at university before an additional year or two with the army, then her internship would have been around 2012 – 2013. Do you remember who was the U.S. Secretary of State during that time? It was Hilary Rodham Clinton. Was Ms. Bezhula a Hilary’s apprentice? Is her statescraft of a like-inclined kill-list diplomacy?
There’s more to Mariana Bezhula than meets the eye. Is she being primed to succeed Zelensky? Perhaps.
If anyone can help at all with the details of her internship that would be most useful.
