Russia has sent a formal diplomatic note to the Biden administration warning the U.S. against further arming Ukraine, two officials tell CBS News.
The note, sent to the State Department, revealed Moscow’s irritation with President Biden’s decision to continue to approve arms transfers as the conflict shifts to eastern Ukraine. It used the same type of language Russia has been using for some time to object to Western efforts to bolster the Ukrainian military against the invading Russian forces.
Secretary of State Antony Blinken has previously described the strategy as part of a plan to increase Kyiv’s leverage at the negotiating table, in an effort to eventually find a negotiated end to the conflict. The Washington Post first reported the diplomatic note from Russia to the U.S., and quoted Russian officials as saying the weapons shipments could bring “unpredictable consequences.”
The note comes as President Biden approved this week an expansion of the type of military assistance that the U.S. provides to Ukraine, including $800 million worth of arms including artillery such as medium-range howitzers that can prove useful in this next phase of the conflict in eastern Ukraine.
“We won’t confirm any private diplomatic correspondence,” the State Department said in a statement to CBS News. “What we can confirm is that, along with allies and partners, we are providing Ukraine with billions of dollars worth of security assistance, which our Ukrainian partners are using to extraordinary effect to defend their country against Russia’s unprovoked aggression and horrific acts of violence.”
The U.S. has provided a total of $2 billion in military assistance to Ukraine since President Biden took office, according to the White House. The most recent round of assistance this week includes 800 Stinger anti-aircraft missiles and 2,000 Javelins, and 155-mm howitzers, an improvement to Ukraine’s long-range artillery that will help them go toe-to-toe with Russia. Last month, Congress approved $13 billion in security assistance to Ukraine, which the White House may continue to tap into for further aid allocations.
“You know, we won’t be able to advertise every piece of security we give because our allies and partners are supplying to Ukraine through us, but advanced weapons and ammunition are flowing in every single day,” Mr. Biden said last week during a speech to North America’s Building Trades Unions Legislative Conference.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy told CNN in an interview Friday that the world should be prepared for the possibility that Russian President Vladimir Putin could use tactical nuclear weapons against Ukraine. Russia has now been at war in Ukraine for 50 days.
A senior defense official confirmed the Russian cruiser Moskva that sunk in the Black Sea was struck by two Neptune anti-ship missiles fired by the Ukrainians. The sinking of the flagship vessel is significant for Ukraine.
I read the first bit, no point in going further.
Some will say its all planned and a big happy game, but I disagree. Having said that, I am baffled why Russia wastes its time with the US, unless the Russians are just going through the motions.
It is time, well past the point when Russia should start hitting none military high level targets. It is becoming a bit of a joke that Zelensky and his team haven’t been hit with hypersonic weapons. This idea that central Kiev should remain undamaged is a big, big mistake.

Team Zelensky has so far played a deft, if fussy, game of pretend. The Ukrainian president has found time in his busy war schedule to address more than 17 parliaments around the world in recent weeks, and each time he has delivered a speech tailored to touch on specific cultural emotions. (In Finland’s parliament, for example, he praised Finnish courage in the Winter War)
Team Zelenksy: one must conclude that there is more to Zelensky than meets the eye. Reports of billions of dollars in offshore accounts in the Caribbean are another indication.
But the power grab from harnessing the world’s gaslights seems to have gone to his and his CIA and MI6 handlers’ heads. This week, Team Zelensky went too far in embarrassing Germany, a key power in the European Union.

As was always expected the British SAS is reported to be in Ukraine “training” its soldiers. Any western troops in that active battle zone that is Ukraine are neither training nor advising troops, they are leading them. Our troops have no business there but I suspect they’re bait more than anything, and when some are killed that will be the “unprovoked” action leading to calls for western involvement.
If they want to go in and are determined to do so why do our spineless politicians play these games? I can only think it’s because they know it’s reprehensible to be supporting murdering Nazi scum who should be eradicated not sent weapons. This fallacy does indicate Russia really is taking down the NWO.

Putin’s achievements so far:
In the space of a few days, Putin’s vaporized 200 years of anti-Polish propaganda (of Austrian, German, Russian and Soviet Russian provenance) in the Ukraine. He’s led the Ukrainians to take up arms against their so-called Russian brothers in order to defend their country. The Ukrainians are now doing what the Poles did in 1920 during the Polish-Soviet War, when relatively few Ukrainians were willing to fight the Red Army. Without the Ukrainian “brother nation” under its thumb, the Russian Empire’s days are numbered. Unfortunately for Putin, the Chinese general staff are watching all this.
What Germany and Russia really wanted was a return to what they had in the good old days, i.e. when Bismarck was in charge. Good old German-Russian imperial friendship at the cost of Poland and all the other smaller countries of Eastern Europe. In other words, a German-Russian Condominium. That had been Putin’s offer to Germany all along and Merkel wholeheartedly accepted it by building gas pipelines together with Russia on the bed of the Baltic Sea. Fortunately, these plans can be foiled by accelerating the process of bolstering Eastern-European integration at the cost of the neo-imperial interests of Germany and Russia.
Britain and America now see that the best way to foil Merkel and Putin’s joint scheme to set up a German-Russian Condominium is to make a future united Eastern Europe “great again”. And that’s *exactly* why Putin has now invaded the Ukraine. Last year’s demonstrations in Belarus sounded all the alarm bells in his evil imperial mind. A strong and united Eastern Europe — a resurrection of the old Polish Commonwealth in some new form — is Germany’s and Russia’s worst nightmare.
Putin’s also making exactly the same mistake as Stalin. Just as Hitler’s eyes were firmly fixed on Russia and especially the fertile lands of the Ukraine — the German equivalent of Britain’s India, as he used to say in his private conversations — the eyes of today’s Chinese leaders are also firmly fixed on all that Lebensraum which is temporarily owned by a mere handful of Russians. The conclusion to be drawn is obvious. It’ll be interesting to see who ultimately is surprising whom when the first missiles are fired.
Putin will go down in history as the man who finally destroyed Russia and Russia’s final gift to the world: communism.
REFUGEES
I complained about the council closing the health clinic, as they want to put 37-40 flats in a new 5 to 6 story building. They say these are only for new refugees.
I put my name down on the letter from residents in the road objecting and we got a patronising letter in reply saying it was okay as the YMCA building height was a comparison. They stated they sent out 400 notices and we were only 45 objections. The final pushing through of the plan just one printed note on a lamp post near clinic entrance.
Apparently the connection to the planning office not working.
So I decided that maybe the local councillors should be informed.
Have written to the present Leader. Who I have communicated with over NHS matters and the three councillors for this area stating that I am unhappy about the projects proposed locally especially the proposed 37-40 flats on the old health centre site. For one thing placing rubbish storage area for the 37 flats at the back of residents gardens is unacceptable. The whole plan is unworkable
Told them I have experience of plans and planning and the two projects in the School both got the Borough building awards much to the delight of Chris Robbins…..May he R.i.p. He died in April last year.
There will be no parking spaces well no room on the site and the poor residents whose gardens back onto the site will probably have constant noise and disruption for a year. Increase of cars parking in Hurst Road🙄 lorries back and forth to the refugess flats.

The Drive blocked off is good as cars lorries and heavy vehicles cannot take the short cut from Shernwell Street into Forest Road via the drive and my Road. Two less traffic lights to go through.

The assertion that the Russian ship was sunk by Uke missile is nonsense. If they were able to do that, they would have done it long ago. The ships were only just offshore – well within range of conventional artillery, never mind missiles.
