Dozens of Ukrainian troops were killed Saturday in a missile strike on army barracks in Mykolaiv, local officials said.
At least 45 soldiers were killed in the Russian strike, BBC News reported.
Rescue operations took place at the scene of the missile strike of the barrack housing soldiers in the southern Ukrainian city and strategic Black Sea port of Mykolaiv, the region’s Gov. Vitalli Kim told CNN.
CNN’s Swedish affiliate Expressen reported that two Russian fighter jets dropped around five bombs on the buildings around 6 a.m.
A video filmed by Expressen showed rescuers pulling one Ukrainian solider alive from the wreckage.
Another survivor, identified only as 54-year-old soldier Serhill, told Expressen “of the approximately 200 who were there, I would guess about 90% did not survive.”
“Glass flew everywhere,” Nikita, a 22-year-old soldier whose first name was only given, told Expressen. “I prayed to God that I would have time to take shelter before bombs came. There are always more bombs.”
Mykolaiv has been a critical target for Russian forces on the ground as they move to capture Ukraine’s third largest city, Odesa, further west along the coast.
The Russian military, meanwhile, said it destroyed a military ammunition warehouse in the village of Delyatin using Kinzhal missiles Friday.
Overnight, there was also attack targeting an aircraft repair plant near the western city of Lviv, which has been receiving hundreds of refugees from Mariupol in the south. No casualties were reported.
BBC News reported Mariupol is expected to fall after being battered by shelling for weeks under siege. Authorities said 130 people have been rescued from the bomb shelter under the city’s theatre that was attacked two days ago, but hundreds more may be trapped in the rubble.
Still, Russia has been “surprised by the scale and ferocity of Ukrainian resistance,” the British Defense Ministry said in its latest update.
The Russian military has been “forced to change its operational approach and is now pursuing a strategy of attrition,” the update added. “This is likely to involve the indiscriminate use of firepower resulting in increased civilian casualties, destruction of Ukrainian infrastructure, and intensify the humanitarian crisis.”
The British Defense Ministry also said in the update that Russian President Vladimir Putin has “reinforced his control over Russian domestic media,” in attempt to “obscure high Russian casualty numbers.”

I don’t think there’s much change, I think the Russians are applying pressure. The use of a hypersonic weapon on an ammo dump has been described as desperation by the UK. I say no way, the Russians use an appropriate weapon on that facility.
The Russians spent 8yrs working towards a political solution. The West insulted Russia, so now we have a special military operation that is designed to apply political pressure via military means.
I am behind the Russians, but I wouldn’t have done this soft operation. I’d have hammered Ukraine. Those UKrainian Nazis which are surrounded right now, I’d be bombing the crap out of them, and I’d only stop with total surrender by Zelensky.
Don’t be fooled by the maps. The areas held by the Russians are the important areas. There not much in the interior of UKraine. The East, Dombas is where the heavy industry is, the South is more prosperous, the North is also more prosperous, and the there’s Kiev, which is surrounded with refugee corridors. The West of UKraine is of little interest to Russia, apart from hitting military targets.
The Russians aren’t saying it, but it can only be a matter of time before we get stories about large numbers of mernearies fighting for UKraine, some will talk.
The photo above looks like debris from a construction site. You have pieces of pvc plumbing, Roxul brand sound reducing wall insulation, pieces of poured concrete of a size and shape that is consistent with demolition from a wrecking ball, excavator or hydraulic hammer, in the lower right side you have a beam that has been cut at a right angle. At the middle far left of the photo there are what appear to be plastic bags of building materials and on the far right you have dust of a type that is consistent with an active construction site. The men are dressed in generic camo and do not have any gear associated with even poorly equipped troops. They are standing in a photo op type pose. Their boots look like they were bought at Walmart. The truck in the background is the type of old dump truck you would expect to see on a Ukrainian construction site.
Another point. The window frames on the opposite buildings are all intact and most appear to have glass. If a munitions storage exploded, it would have leveled those buildings.

I’ve no idea if what you’re saying makes any sense at all, but I find it very odd that only the building they’re standing in was flattened. I bet if you went back 20 minutes later one of the other buildings would “fall into its own footprint”, and then the other one 20 minutes after that…
When I tell some of my mates whom are good guys and gals that they can’t believe anything that the MSM put out regarding the War in UKRIANE,

Well it’s been a week and they now call me and tell me hey have you herd the latest in Ukraine, depending on time of day they now beat me to it and are informing me. This is very good feeling when you get more then half a dozen mates looking at alternative news options. And they will hopefully spread the word, this is how the truth community should work, lead people to other alternative information sites, I prefer not to push them.
I’ve told them from day one I’m on Russia Side. Some of the pictures coming out of Ukraine are terrible, but I always co,e back to this could have been all avoided if the Ukrainian Nationalist were like crushed in 2014.
They are full on lunatics, just yesterday Fred Zakaria had some Medical dude on his Program he was like so thankful to USA for sending wepaons to help kill Russians, Civilians with Guns is not a good recipe for Peace, they will be smashed by regular Military. Well he said to Fred he had told his Doctors to Castrate the Russians that had be been captured by Ukrainian militia and cremate them.
I was like is this Propaganda or is this true, I’ve seen NO REPORTS to say it’s true, but man that kind of Statement is not going to win any friends, I mean who would be for this.

I expect to read in the coming months these people having being snuffed out.
I can see this war ending by UN Peace-keeping effort. Its the only way.
