A prominent Israeli historian has lambasted the Tel Aviv regime for having “collaborated” with Holocaust distortion and accepting the Polish narrative completely for the sake of political, economic and security gains.
Speaking in a webinar for British educators organized by University College of London, Yehuda Bauer said Israeli authorities are using a fictitious storyline, and playing along with it.
“The problem that we face is the identification of Israel with a distortion of the Holocaust, especially in Poland. The political and economic and security relationship between Israel and Poland is great, why would this problem of the Holocaust come between this?” he said.
He said the Israeli regime “decided to settle it” and sent a two-man team to negotiate with the Poles, “neither of them are experts on the Holocaust or history or Poland”, and they ended up “accepting the Polish narrative completely”.
“Anti-Semitism is defined in those documents, signed on June 28, 2018, as the same thing as anti-Polandism by the Jews. So, 2,000 years of anti-Semitism equals the opposition of some Jews to Poland,” Baurer, a professor of Holocaust Studies at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem al-Quds, noted.
“Yad Vashem [Israel’s official memorial to the victims of the Holocaust] doesn’t normally react. This was an exception. It was so gross, so dangerous. We don’t accept distortion of the Holocaust. What I’m saying is not only directed against the Polish nationalists, but against the collaborators on the Israeli side as well,” he further argued.
Bauer then described distortion as “a completely one-sided mixture of truths and untruths which is more dangerous than outright lies”.
He said, “Distortion is when you say yes it happened, it was terrible, but we didn’t do it – the Germans did it, only them, no-one else. Yes, there were a few bad eggs among us who collaborated, denounced Jews, participated.”
Bauer added that “without a large part of the population, arguably a majority, there could have been no Holocaust, because the Germans didn’t know how to differentiate between Jews and Lithuanians, Jews and Poles, Jews and Hungarians.
“The number of Jews who could be identified from traditional ultra-Orthodox clothing was relatively small. The vast majority looked like everyone else in their neighborhood. Without the help of the local population, no Holocaust could have happened. So, this is a denial of what happened, a distortion,” Bauer pointed out.
Back in April 2017, Bauer dismissed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s assertion that the Allies could have saved four million Jews from the Holocaust if they had bombed Nazi death camps from 1942.
“This is utter nonsense. There is absolutely no truth in this,” he said at the time, emphasizing that the combined Anglo-American air forces were incapable of reaching any destination east of Berlin and the Elbe River until early 1944.
“The reason for that is simple: The Anglo-American bombers had no fighter escort that could reach those distances,” the historian highlighted.
“There was no possibility whatsoever of reaching the places where Jews were being killed until [early] 1944,” he said back then.

The trouble with this new narrative was that much of it was completely false, the only true element being the fact that the Germans really did manage to murder several million Jews by the time Hitler was defeated by the Allies in 1945.
However, the only country where the official “Holocaust” narrative couldn’t possibly work was Poland, where most of the German Nazi war crimes were actually committed. Why? Because the Poles knew and remembered too much about what really happened in Poland during WWII and earlier.
In particular, they remembered that in that half of Poland which was occupied by Hitler’s Soviet ally in September 1939, most of the Jewish population immediately forgot that they were Polish citizens and gladly collaborated with the Russian invaders. Armed Jewish communist militias hunted down retreating Polish soldiers, arrested Polish officials and provided the Russians with lists of Poles to deport to the death camps in Siberia. That is but one Jewish “skeleton in the cupboard”.
The authors of the new “Holocaust” narrative knew perfectly well that sooner or later it would be questioned by Poles (wherever they lived), so — at the beginning of the 1970s (when memories of the war were fading in the West — and purely as a preventive measure, of course) — they were forced to start a smear campaign against the Polish nation, which the extensive Jewish propaganda machine systematically accused of large-scale complicity in the Nazi extermination of the Jews.
To date this fifty-year-old smear campaign has been very successful — so much so, that even politicians such as President Obama have found themselves making public statements about “Polish Death Camps”.
Any Pole who dares to question the veracity of the official “Holocaust” narrative in the West is thus automatically discredited as an anti-Semite who is trying to deny “well-documented” and “obvious” Polish complicity in German Nazi war crimes.
This state of affairs cannot go on for ever, of course. As Abraham Lincoln famously remarked, “You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you cannot fool all of the people all of the time.”
Apart from recent signs of inevitable “holocaust fatigue” in the West, at the beginning of 2018 the Polish government itself — to the horror of the Israeli government — took an official stand against attempts to accuse the Polish nation of complicity in German war crimes, thus giving valuable moral support to those historians and journalists (not to mention rapidly increasing numbers of internet users) who can and have been “setting the record straight”.
Terrified by the all-too-real prospect of several Jewish “skeletons in the cupboard” coming to light (not only in Polish, but now also in English and on an increasing number of internet pages read by users in the United States), the Israeli government hurriedly signed a joint Polish-Israeli Declaration in June 2018 in an effort to “stop provoking the Poles” and to close the discussion which had raged since the beginning of the year. This “peace deal” basically acknowledged the veracity of the Polish historical narrative (maintaining that the wartime Polish underground State and government-in-exile not only had no hand in the extermination of Jews, but actively opposed it).
As the Israeli “Nazi hunter” Efraim Zuroff has candidly observed, the greatest danger to the official “Holocaust” narrative is the fact that East European countries (some of which — unlike the underground Polish State, but like German-occupied France — did opt for collaboration with the Germans) are now reminding the world that there was “another holocaust” perpetrated by Soviet communists, many of whom were Jews:

Bauer’s contention that “the Germans didn’t know how to differentiate between […] Jews and Poles” and that therefore “without the help of the local population, no Holocaust could have happened” is utter nonsense, given the fact that at the very beginning of the German occupation of Poland it was the Jews who openly collaborated with the Nazis, believing German promises that they would not only be given the 400 autonomous Jewish Districts (i.e. ghettos) which they had been denied by the Poles in 1920, but also that they would finally be given the Jewish homeland in eastern Poland which they had dreamt of since the beginning of the century. By contrast, there was absolutely no Polish (i.e. Christian) collaboration with the Germans whatsoever (the penalty being death). It was only in the middle of the war — when Hitler suddenly decided to exterminate all the Jews — that Jewish leaders eventually agreed to cooperate with the Polish Resistance.

Presumably, truth seeking wasn’t his prime motivation. Even more telling, if Prof. Davies account is accurate, then it is reasonable to assume that the Israeli historian wasn’t at all interested in uncovering the truth, instead he was investing in the concealment of truth and seeking support for his project from the British historians.”

Very few people (for obvious reasons!) now know that for quite a long time before WWI (and during the war itself) most Jewish political activists pinned their hopes for the creation of a Jewish “homeland” on … Germany!
120 years ago, the Zionist colonization of Palestine was still Plan B. What was then seen as being a more realistic project was the creation of “Judeo-Polonia” — a new buffer state that would be carved out of “inevitable” German territorial gains in Eastern Europe following a future military conflict with Russia.
By September 1914, all the details had been worked out by a joint German-Jewish Committee — the Deutsches Komitee zur Befreiung der Russischen Juden — working in liaison with the German ministry for foreign affairs. The Committee also regularly warned about the dangers posed by Polish attempts to bring about the restoration of the Polish State, which over a century earlier had been partitioned by Prussia, Austria and Russia.
Judeo-Polonia would be a German protectorate (ruled by a German prince) and — given that it would be inhabited by the 6 million Jews of that part of the world — would, of course, be conveniently run by German and/or Yiddish-speaking Jews. The population of Judeo-Polonia would also comprise 8 million Poles, 2 million Germans, 6 million Ukrainians, 4 million Byelorussians and 4 million assorted Lithuanians and Latvians. Its capital would be the city of Lublin, which is now in eastern Poland.
Unfortunately — notwithstanding the support that she had received from worldwide Jewry — Germany lost the war and — worse still — in 1920 the Red Army (Plan C) failed to defeat the army of the newly resurrected Polish Republic, whose government was at that time regularly being accused of tolerating and/or organizing anti-Jewish pogroms (for which, as the American ambassador in Warsaw Hugh Simons Gibson confirmed, there was actually no evidence at all).
Although Jewish demands for the creation of autonomous Jewish districts (i.e. ghettos) in every Polish town were rejected by the Polish parliament in the same year (1920), Polish citizenship was granted (in 1926) to the 600 000 illegal Jewish immigrants who had fled the new Workers’ Paradise of Soviet Russia.
Between the two World Wars, most (but not all) Jewish political activists in Poland still dreamt of setting up some kind of Jewish homeland in the eastern part of the country and so — remembering the Judeo-Polonia project — they continued to place their hopes in Germany. Even the Polish Communist Party (most of whose members happened to be Jews) then supported German territorial claims against Poland!
This, of course, would explain the willingness of Jewish elites to co-operate with the Nazi German invaders of Poland in 1939. By contrast, Polish (i.e. Christian) elites consistently refused to collaborate with the Germans and Russians who had invaded and re-partitioned their country, preferring instead to set up a government-in-exile and an extensive Resistance movement (known as the Home Army).
Hitler cleverly lulled the vigilance of the Jews by granting them (a cruel parody of) the 400 “autonomous Jewish districts” that the Poles had refused them in 1920. In September 1939, crowds of Jews actually came out into the streets of various Polish towns in order to welcome the victorious German troops, while in that part of Poland which had been invaded and occupied by the Soviets they also actively collaborated with Stalin”s secret police (on a truly massive scale).
Initially, the Nazi plan — dropped in the second half of 1941 — was to gradually herd all the Jews of Europe into one part of eastern Poland, thus creating a Jewish region that might eventually become some kind of Jewish entity. At that time — i.e. during the first half of the war (before Hitler’s invasion of the Soviet Union) — most of the people who were being butchered in Poland were not Jews, but Poles. If they were very rich, Jews were then more likely to be murdered by their fellow Jews in the ghettos (often with the connivance of the Jewish ghetto police).
Writing in Britain in 1940, the Jewish political activist Jabotinsky saw this concentration of Jews in the Lublin region as a great opportunity for a future Jewish homeland once Germany had been defeated. Indeed, maps of the future Jewish “Lublinland” began to appear in various other publications of the time.
It was only in the middle of WWII that Hitler suddenly decided on the mass extermination of his Jewish subjects and it was only then that the leaders of Poland’s Jews finally realized that there was going to be no Judeopolonia after all. Most of the leaders of the Jewish ghettos (who had earlier steadfastly refused to cooperate with the Polish Resistance) then committed suicide, seeing that the long-standing loyalty of the greater part of European Jewry towards the German cause had been unrequited.
One explanation for Hitler’s callous decision could be that — having observed the behaviour of many Jews in that part of Poland which had been occupied by the Soviets in 1939 — he wrote them all off as incorrigible communist agents and fifth-columnists. However, Feliks Koneczny — a Polish historian who experienced the German occupation at first hand — offered a simpler explanation: writing in 1942, he argued that the Germans were so convinced that they had finally gained eternal possession of all Polish lands that they simply no longer saw any need to accept the Jewish offer of collaboration, and so proceeded with the next stage of their plan for them. Poles were next on the list, of course, though Polish elites in both occupied zones had already been decimated at the very beginning of the war.
During the first half of the twentieth century, Jewish propaganda in Europe and America consistently denigrated all things Polish (even in Hollywood films produced during WWII!), mainly in order to further the cause of the Judeo-Polonia project. Since the early 1970s it has been doing exactly the same thing — but this time in order to lend credibility to the new “Holocaust” narrative, which would quite simply collapse if the American public ever found out what really happened in Poland during the Second World War.
