The US military has drawn up new strike plans against Iran that include potentially using the GBU-43/B Massive Ordnance Air Blast Bomb (MOAB), nicknamed the “mother of all bombs,” according to a report from CNN.
The MOAB is the most powerful non-nuclear bomb in the US arsenal and has been used only once before in a strike on a village in Afghanistan’s Nangarhar province in 2017. The US said the strike killed dozens of ISIS-K fighters, and the now-defunct US-backed Afghan government said no civilians were killed because they evacuated due to the ISIS occupation. But since returning, the residents have dealt with environmental effects and the damage from the attack, which destroyed about 30 civilian homes.
The MOAB is about 30 feet long, and due to its size, it must be dropped from a C-130 cargo aircraft close to the intended target, meaning that any MOAB strike on Iran would be vulnerable to Iranian air defenses.
The CNN report said that the potential target of the MOAB includes Iranian energy infrastructure, with one source telling the outlet that President Trump ordered the military to develop additional strike packages against Iranian targets that include “a lot of energy infrastructure” and the potential use of a MOAB.
The other potential target is Iran’s Pickaxe Mountain, known in Iran as Kolang Kouh. The US and Israel have alleged there may be nuclear activity underneath the mountain, allegations that Iranian officials have denied. The problem with a MOAB strike is that it is designed for a massive surface-level blast, not for penetrating underground like the GBU-57 Massive Ordnance Penetrator (MOP), the bunker-busting bomb that the US dropped on Iranian nuclear facilities in June 2025, which is heavier than the MOAB but carries less explosive.
Sources speaking to CNN said a potential MOAB strike could be more of a psychological operation. “POTUS has unfortunately put himself in a situation where he is almost compelled to do something and, without the ammunition designed to penetrate that level … you have to look at psychological effects for which the MOAB is well-equipped,” a source familiar with the planning told the outlet.
Any MOAB strike could result in devastating civilian casualties since the bomb has the power to destroy nine city blocks. The CNN report said that some US officials have warned that dropping the massive bomb was unlikely to force Iran’s capitulation or achieve a strategic military victory.

Of course, trump’s a bully and an idiot and a narcissist and wears a wig. What he should do is ask them politely not to make nuclear bombs. That’s the right thing to do.
As the US is most unlikely to get a big-enough plane into Iranian airspace to drop this thing, and as many have said last time they didn’t bomb with jets like they claimed but sent in missiles launched from subs, it’s not beyond the murderous US to send in a small nuke then claim it was a MOAB that caused that huge blast like they said they’d use. Then say it’s Iran who’s telling all the lies.
Trump’s ego trip on his own power means he’s capable of using a nuke. “Just an iddy-biddy one.” Then when the shock has passed and the world is used to a nuke being used on Iran he can tell the world nobody else had the balls to do it but him (even if he’s covering for the Zionists).
The world ought to unite against USrael and boycott the hell out of them, as well as recalling all diplomats and ambassadors. If this means a world war against this monster then so be it and let’s get on with it.

The American justice system which once was used in a chain of command with something decent at the top to flush away the corruption is now very much of a sewer which is so plugged up with the
“grease” of the chain of corruption that the shit is backing up and flooding all of our political and domestic institutions including our schools and our homes. When everyone at the top and all the way through the entire system is knee deep in shit then that is the new normal and nothing is clean or trustworthy, or safe and nothing will change until there is pressure from both ends to blow the blockage back and right into the faces of those who are at the top of the change.

The MOAB is what some purported nukes are. In fact, we no longer hear of “dirty bombs”, conventional bombs seeded with radioactive materials as we once did. In deed, we no longer hear of the “neutron bomb” which purportedly killed people but kept structures intact. Some of us have long memories, while other have forgotten and others cannot make simple deductions; they are content to parrot what men in suits say…

“In Hiroshima, I was prepared for radically different sights. But, to my surprise, Hiroshima looked exactly like all the other burned-out cities in Japan. Yet here I saw the buildings structurally intact, and what is more, topped by undamaged flag poles, lightning rods, painted railings, air raid precaution signs and other comparatively fragile objects. At the T-bridge, the aiming point for the atomic bomb,
I looked for the “bald spot” where everything presumably had been vaporized in the twinkling of an eye. It wasn’t there or anywhere else. I could find no traces of unusual phenomena. What I did see was in substance a replica of Yokohama or Osaka, or the Tokyo suburbs – the familiar residue of an area of wood and brick houses razed by uncontrollable fire. Everywhere I saw the trunks of charred and leafless trees, burned and unburned chunks of wood. The fire had been intense enough to bend and twist steel girders and to melt glass until it ran like lava – just as in other Japanese cities. The concrete buildings nearest to the centre of explosion, some only a few blocks from the heart of the atom blast, showed no structural damage. Even cornices, canopies and delicate exterior decorations were intact. Window glass was shattered, of course, but single-panel frames held firm; only window frames of two or more panels were bent and buckled.
The blast impact therefore could not have been unusual. Then I questioned a great many people who were inside such buildings when the bomb exploded. Their descriptions matched the scores of accounts I had heard from people caught in concrete buildings in areas hit by blockbusters. Hiroshima’s ten-story press building, about three blocks from the centre of the explosion, was badly gutted by the fire following the explosion, but otherwise unhurt. The people caught in the building did not suffer any unusual effects.”
