A spokesman for the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) says Iran has strengthened its arsenal with more advanced weapons since the 40-day US-Israeli war on the country, warning that any renewed aggression would be met with a response carrying “far more painful” consequences for its enemies.
Brigadier General Hossein Mohebi said on Wednesday that Iran had relied mainly on older-generation weapons as it responded to the US- Israeli aggression on the Islamic Republic that began in late February, but has made significant advances since then.
“Iran is prepared to respond to any renewed aggression with greater force than ever before, and this time, the consequences for the United States will be far more painful,” Mohebi said.
The general described a new US war against the Islamic Republic as “irrational,” but warned that renewed aggression remained “a very real possibility” because the Trump administration needed to demonstrate a political “win” ahead of the midterm elections.
With the midterm elections that will determine control of Congress just weeks away, opposition to Republican President Donald Trump’s war on Iran and his handling of it continues to grow among the American public.
“The American public is kept from knowing the reality of their country’s foreign wars, because mainstream media actively conceal the reality of such ruthless aggressions,” General Mohebi said.
“The statements by American officials about disagreement and lack of cooperation among Iranian leaders are completely false and are made only to justify Washington’s failure in the war,” he added.
Trump has denied plans to launch a renewed attack on Iran before the midterm elections. However, the Islamic Republic has continued to bolster its defenses, warning regional countries that any new US strikes launched from their territory would trigger retaliatory action across West Asia.

Speaking here to Nima on Dialogue Works his guest Matt Bracken has given some valuable info about the economics of sinking container vessels in the Gulf and how those losses can be exploited by locals salvaging containers buoyant enough to not sink; and there’s the movements of oil and its products in road tankers in parts of west Asia. These goods and markets may be lost to Trump and the EU and destroying our futures, but not all is lost to other people and many will gain from it.

Matt Bracken explained how for example a container of perfumes which is valuable in the Middle East and can become a currency, or valuable electronics made in China that escape water damage, can affect western companies and prices as these products can reach western markets given time.
