Leo Hohmann – Leo’s Newsletter Sept 4, 2026
The Trump administration’s U.S. Department of Agriculture announced this week it is building a government framework that will use technological “tools” including NASA satellite imagery and artificial intelligence to monitor the nation’s farms.
This announcement comes just a few months after another big story in the agriculture world, which I reported on back in April, that the AI data-analysis firm Palantir Technologies has been granted a $300 million contract with the USDA to collect data on American farmers.
Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins said the USDA’s data modernization plan is designed to provide farmers with better and more useful information.
Secretary Rollins unveiled the plan Tuesday, Sept. 1, at the Farm Progress Show. She said it will enhance acreage and yield estimation, stating:
“USDA will expand use of administrative data and improve mobile access. We will conduct a pilot to evaluate the use of improved satellite imagery. Working with NASA and other federal government agencies to figure out how we can make this reporting more accurate.”
She says the agency will update its tech infrastructure to reduce duplication.
“We will expand the secured data sharing capabilities, and we will evaluate the responsible use of tools such as artificial intelligence and machine learning.”
If I’ve learned anything over my 40-year career in public affairs journalism, it’s that whenever the government talks about using “tools”, it never turns out good for freedom-loving Americans.
According to USDA, the newly released data modernization plan builds on technological advancements already underway across USDA, including satellite-based crop monitoring, geospatial analysis, cloud-based platforms, improved online reporting tools, and more coordinated use of existing administrative data.
Christian Westbrook, an independent agriculture reporter who runs the Unshadowed Substack account, writes in an August 3 post:
The eye in the sky is watching the farms…and when you combine this with the April USDA/Palantir announcement, you can see this is a command-and-control architecture for agriculture: satellite imaging fed into a battlefield intelligence system built by a defense vendor, sold as farmer convenience and food security.
It’s planned to scale up to the entire nation soon. What used to be a ‘conspiracy theory’ is now an open plan…
For starters, Palantir, a company that makes its billions using AI to “speed up the kill chain” in wars against Gaza and in Ukraine, should never be allowed anywhere near America’s food chain. This is a company whose CEO Alex Karp openly brags about being in the business of killing people.
BOTTOM LINE: This is the same administration that is promoting water-hogging, energy-burning toxic data centers in place of productive farmland and is OK with the Chinese becoming the second-largest owner of American farmland. It’s also the same administration that didn’t pay attention in January and February when it was warned that if it attacked Iran, the Iranians would shut down the Strait of Hormuz and cause a global recession/depression. This same administration has now also imported 300 metric tons of low-quality Argentinian beef, undercutting American ranchers, many of whom are already struggling to stay in business.
But now we’re supposed to believe they care about farmers and are just trying to provide them with better information. I call BS.
This latest move has nothing to do with providing farmers with information and convenience. This is about government control and getting control of the land, the animals and the crops.
A government that controls the food controls the people. And the government knows that the American people are going to start getting restless when diesel runs out and food shipments to grocery stores start getting curtailed. Drastic weather events are also likely to mean lower crop yields this fall. Shipments of grain from Ukraine have all but stopped as the Russia-Ukraine conflict enters its final phase of total war, a war that has been fueled by U.S. funding and weapons supplies. Even after that war is over, Ukraine, once home to the most fertile farmland in the world, will be left with contaminated soil that is unfarmable for decades. Remember, this was the war Trump promised to end within 24 hours of taking office.
And thanks to Trump’s war on Iran, the Strait of Hormuz remains closed, meaning crucial fertilizers aren’t coming out of the region.
All this adds up to food shortages and global famine in 2027. The USDA is moving now to get control of the nation’s food supply, likely in preparation for some sort of rationing regime.
Now is the time to prepare. Stock up on canned goods and non-perishables. Buy seeds now for next spring’s planting season. It also would not be a bad idea to fill up several 5-gallon containers with gasoline and keep them on hand just in case you have an emergency and your local gas stations are closed or have long lines.
If we are headed for an energy lockdown, think of all the things that went up drastically in price or were not available at all during the Covid lockdown. Act accordingly. Now is the time to get out ahead of the next manufactured crisis.

Tempers flare at Belfast City Hall during debate over persecution of Christians
Story by Michael Kenwood •
Tempers have flared at Belfast City Hall this week during a Belfast Council debate over who is behind the international persecution of Christians.
A DUP motion concerning the Open Doors World Watch List 2026, which highlights the deaths of Christians because of their religion, led to a war of words at the monthly full meeting of Belfast City Council this week, with Sinn Féin raising points about the Holy Cross controversy, which saw its 25th anniversary this week. The DUP failed to have their motion adopted, after a Sinn Féin amendment, highlighting persecution for all religions, was passed in the chamber. The DUP said the Sinn Féin amendment “diluted” the original proposal and refused to accept it.
The DUP original motion states: “Belfast City Council notes with profound concern that more than 388 million Christians around the world face high levels of persecution and discrimination for their faith. (It) notes the findings of the Open Doors World Watch List 2026, including that 4,849 Christians were killed worldwide during the reporting period because of their Christian identity, of whom 3,490 were killed in Nigeria.

rhree migrants who hacked a man to death with knives, crutch and plank are jailed for life
Story by Ed Holt • 12h • 3 min read
Three black migrants have been jailed for life after they hacked a man to death with an ‘arsenal of knives’. Gregory Castillo Volquez was stabbed 22 times and beaten with a crutch and a nail-embedded plank in Haringey, north London, on January 13 last year.
He had been out drinking when the 36-year-old was attacked out of sight from CCTV by
gang members Benito Ramirez Kones, 20, Carlos Akum Metumbe, 22, and Luiggi Perelli Santana, also 22.
While Mr Volquez lay dying in the street, his murderers ‘went into the night’ before attempting to flee the country.
Metumbe and Santana, who were known criminals, reached Spain while Kones — did not leave Britain. Kones was arrested in Swansea last year while Metumbe and Santana were extradited in August and October last year respectively.
Now, following sentencing on Friday, Metumbe and Santana were jailed for life while Kones was sentenced to life in custody.
In a hearing pierced by heavy sobs from the public gallery, the judge said: ‘This was a truly wicked crime committed by very dangerous men.
why are these migrants in out country ?
But, but, but… the farmers can’t grow corn without “data”. How would that work?
The USA, Britain, as well as many other nations still or formerly white christian face all a common and deadly problem:
Too many satanmaniacs (communists+satanists+Jews+freemasons)
Which corrupt and use for their own nefarious purposes not only all the nation’s institutions and instances, but also their populations as well.

They are NOT investigating or spying on farmers. They are looking at farms, land usage, and other innoculous data to improve life for farmers. Trying to gin up distrust of your governemnt is not a good look, “Truth” seeker.
The widow of former home secretary Lord Brittan, who was accused of being part of the westminster paedophile ring said her trust in the Met and the police watchdog has been “severely undermined” after an investigation into an officer over his handling of the claims was dropped.
The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) said last week it had stopped the investigation into former Met deputy assistant commissioner Steve Rodhouse after a “large volume of relevant material was recently disclosed to the IOPC by the Metropolitan Police”.
Mr Rodhouse was investigating Lord Brittan and was due to face a disciplinary hearing for potentially breaching police professional standards of behaviour for honesty and integrity and discreditable conduct.
Carl Beech was later jailed fora long sentence
for essentially telling the truth
You can safely bet your teeth and house that anything the utterly wicked Palantir Technologies is involved in is intended to result in the violent robbery and rape of you and yours…unless you and yours are members of the tribe from way down under…
“And the government knows that the American people are going to start getting restless when diesel runs out and food shipments to grocery stores start getting curtailed. Drastic weather events are also likely to mean lower crop yields this fall” … Diesel fuel prices remain very high, and the section of the cuntry I’m in has been caught in a punishing and relentless cycle of unprecedented record scorching heat and drought, with no rain for over 2 months, which is extraordinarily unusual. There are a lot of family cattle ranches and farms around these parts, so of course I suspect that the rabid jackals have been manipulating weather.
I have experienced collapses and major disasters in other places, and the plebs go ape shit on day 3, while the black orcs don’t wait even that long. Food shortages, whether actual or contrived, are coming as they are the ultimate method of control for most of the slobs out there.
