Many US lawmakers have branded Donald Trump’s six-month military offensive against Iran a “complete failure,” as American strikes escalate again and Washington’s own political class acknowledges that the war of choice has delivered none of its stated aims.
Democratic Senator Mark Warner, vice chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, said on Monday on X that the war launched by the White House in late February has left the United States weaker, not stronger.
“We’re 6 months into Trump’s war of choice. What has it accomplished?” Warner wrote.
He listed renewed US-Iran strikes, surging oil prices, overstretched American troops and munitions, and Tehran’s continued possession of enriched uranium, missiles and drones. “The president’s war has been a complete failure, yet there’s still no end in sight.”
We’re 6 months into Trump’s war of choice. What has it accomplished?
– U.S.-Iran strikes are escalating again;
– Oil prices are surging;
– Our servicemembers and military resources are stretched thin;
– Iran’s government is more extreme than it was before the war;
– And Iran…— Mark Warner (@MarkWarner) August 31, 2026
Warner’s remarks come as US forces have again intensified attacks on Iranian territory, including the recent strike on Larak Island in the Persian Gulf. Far from collapsing the Islamic Republic, the senator conceded that Iran’s government is more determined than before the war began, an admission that the US-Israeli assault has failed to break Iran’s will or its defensive capabilities.
Warner is not alone. Across Congress, lawmakers have used the six-month mark to describe the campaign as illegal, costly and strategically bankrupt.
Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer said Friday that after half a year, Trump’s “disastrous war in Iran has accomplished nothing but the depletion of American stockpiles and the weakening of our military standing.” He called it “an abject failure.”
On Monday, Schumer again demanded an end to the war after US military leaders warned Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth that prolonged large-scale operations against Iran are unsustainable and risk leaving the United States less able to confront threats elsewhere.
Senator Elizabeth Warren said the illegal war has driven up costs for ordinary Americans, killed US service members and burned through tens of billions of taxpayer dollars. “End the war,” she wrote.
Warren has separately put the cost to the average American family at least at $1,200.
Senator Chris Van Hollen marked six months since “Trump & Netanyahu launched their illegal war of choice in Iran,” citing 18 US service members killed, hundreds wounded and thousands of civilians slain, while prices at home have soared. “This war needs to end, NOW,” he said.
After Trump’s illegal Venezuela raid, I called it out for what it was: A reckless act of war to grab Venezuelan oil for US oil companies & Trump’s billionaire buddies.
Now, the same people who said I was wrong then are celebrating Trump’s oil ‘deal.’
It should outrage us all. pic.twitter.com/gib9C4kFtn

Senator Adam Schiff likewise said the war has dragged on for six months “with no strategy and no end in sight,” higher costs across the board, troops kept far from their families, and 18 US service members dead.
“We must end this war and bring our troops home.” Senator Sheldon Whitehouse has also blasted what he called Trump’s “botched war with Iran” for burning through munitions.
In the House, Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries called the campaign “an epic failure,” saying gas and food prices have exploded and America is less safe.
Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi described “Trump’s illegal war of choice in Iran” as a “catastrophic mistake” that has killed 19 US service members and wounded more than 750. After six months and billions of dollars, she said, “Operation Epic Failure has yet to achieve a single strategic objective.”
Even some Republicans have broken ranks. Representative Thomas Massie of Kentucky noted that the United States has been at war with Iran for six months and that the 1973 War Powers Act required a withdrawal of forces within 90 days without congressional authorization.
“We are past 180 days. End the War,” Massie wrote, having previously called the conflict Trump’s “biggest and most costly blunder.”
Congress has already voted more than once to constrain the White House. In June, the Senate joined the House in passing a war powers resolution directing an end to hostilities unless Congress authorized them. Later attempts failed as Republicans blocked further action, even as Democrats argued the war was unconstitutional from the start.
The US war of aggression has violated Iranian sovereignty, killed civilians and soldiers, wrecked regional security and failed to impose Washington’s will. Six months on, US politicians now say out loud what the battlefield has already shown. Trump’s war has not subdued Iran. It has exposed the limits of American power.

former BBC actor quits London theatre show over co-star Maureen Lipman’s support for the Palestinian genocide
Northern Irish actor Gerard McCarthy has pulled out of the suicide awareness play Right Before I Go at London’s Soho Theatre, after Dame Maureen Lipman was announced as joining the cast for its World Suicide Prevention Day performance on September 10.
Mr McCarthy, best known for his role in BBC dramas The Fall and Call the Midwife, had been part of the production during its Edinburgh Festival Fringe run and was set to return for the London dates.
However, he said jewess Mrs Lipman’s repeatedly stated support for the Israel genocides in -Palestine
made it impossible for him to remain.
Mauteen Lipman has received huge criticism for her disgusting views as has Vanessa Feltz another disgusting Jewess
In a public statement issued over the weekend, the actor said he had privately raised his concerns before ultimately deciding to step away from the show entirely, describing the situation as regrettable but necessary.

No condemnation for this illegal attack on the sovereign country of Iran, just the realisation that these bent politicos have to take an adversarial position for the upcoming Selections in November.
Dontcha just lurv democracy!!!! By it’s very nature is utterly corruptible – that is why it is promoted – and also why Adolf Hitler was contemptable of it.

Everyone is talking out of their asses. This is no war, not even a “raging” one. It is so full of fakery, cgi affects, ai rubbish. Iran is and has always been a pretend enemy. It started with the fake killing of their komene man, he was already dead by months, and then they show billions of mourners at his fake funeral, many just took the day off i guess, each looking for a porta potty. Just another charade in a long, long line of fake charades.
Zion Don the Con’ “Trump’s six-month military offensive ” … Oh, it has been offensive, alright, in every way possible. Anything done for the benefit of Mordor and satanic jewry is not only highly offensive, but abjectly wicked.
So sure, send in the parade of grifting clowns and mendacious miscreant scum of the Senate to shower some piss in the air while they ctually do nothing about the continued degradation and destruction of the cuntry, except help it along.
