There is a strange thing here.

The more I read Makow, the more solidifies in me the impression that, while he has good and valuable informations, there are some specific areas in which he isn’t to be believed too much.
We must exercise judgment as for what things we accept from Makow and what we reject.
If you want to be recognized as a “respectable” historian, you must confirm to some pre-established, almost sacred, narratives and guidelines in order to get favorable “peer-reviews” for your “opuses” pertaining Nazi Germany.
One of these guidelines is that Germans were a kind of retards that needed allied help for fighting against…allies.
