Henry Nowak bled out on a Southampton sidewalk while British police handcuffed him and ignored his screams.
That story – an 18-year-old stabbed through the heart, dying in cuffs while his killer walked free beside him – is what Elon Musk was talking about when he brought up George Floyd.
And what Musk said next is what the media has spent five years trying to bury.

Musk was responding to outrage over the Nowak case – a British student stabbed five times by a man who then told police Nowak was the racist aggressor. Officers believed the attacker. They handcuffed the dying victim. Nowak’s father later told reporters his son said “I can’t breathe” nine times as he bled out from a fatal heart wound.
Musk drew the parallel directly: “Same was true of George Floyd. He died of a drug overdose, but Derek Chauvin, the police officer in that case, was still sent to prison for murder.”
Six words the media has worked overtime to suppress: He died of a drug overdose.
Not Musk’s invention. Not a right-wing conspiracy. The official Hennepin County autopsy – the same document prosecutors waved around at trial – lists fentanyl and methamphetamine as “significant conditions” in Floyd’s death, alongside severe coronary artery disease and an enlarged heart. Derek Chauvin’s own defense attorneys made this case in 2021. A jury, operating under the shadow of Maxine Waters telling them they’d better convict or “we’ve got to get more confrontational,” didn’t buy it.

Now Chauvin sits in federal prison serving 21 years – stabbed 22 times by a fellow inmate in 2023 – while the question of what actually killed George Floyd remains as contested as the day it was asked.
Derek Chauvin Pardon Two Tier Policing and the Story Henry Nowak’s Family Deserved
Henry Nowak’s case is the mirror image of George Floyd’s – and the media’s reaction to each reveals the rot.
Both died during police interactions where officers made catastrophic judgment errors. Both cases involve questions about whether police treated the right person as the threat. The difference: Floyd’s death triggered two years of global protests, billions in riot damage, cities defunded, statues toppled, and a cultural revolution that fundamentally changed how police departments across America operated.
Nowak’s death – a white British student stabbed through the heart while police believed his attacker’s false racism claim – got a few days of coverage before the media moved on to calling anyone who mentioned it “far-right.”

The answer isn’t complicated. It’s just one the left refuses to say out loud.
Ben Shapiro launched a formal petition earlier this year urging President Trump to pardon Chauvin’s federal conviction – calling it “the defining achievement of the woke movement in American politics.” Musk amplified it: “Something to think about.” Trump said at the time he hadn’t heard about it.
That was March 2025. Now it’s June 2026, Musk is making the same point in a new context, and the question has only gotten sharper. Chauvin’s legal team filed for post-conviction relief in late 2024, arguing the medical examiner who ruled Floyd’s death a homicide may have been pressured – a claim bolstered by an internal memo from a Hennepin County assistant attorney that has quietly circulated in conservative legal circles. The Supreme Court declined to hear his appeal in 2023. His remaining legal avenues are narrow.
Here’s what Musk understands that the media won’t say: the George Floyd narrative was never primarily about one man’s death. It was about power. It was about which deaths matter, who gets to assign blame, and which communities get told to stay quiet.
Musk isn’t making excuses for what happened on that Minneapolis sidewalk. He’s pointing at a media machine that decided the verdict before the autopsy was finished, burned two billion dollars worth of American cities to the ground over it, and then went completely silent when an 18-year-old British kid bled out in handcuffs saying the exact same words.
They chose which story to tell. Musk just made them own it.
