Former National Counterterrorism Center Director Joe Kent (above) asserted in a post on X that prior to the start of the Iran war, the U.S. intelligence community agreed that the Islamic Republic was not developing a nuclear weapon.
“One of the many tragedies of this war is that before the war began the U.S. Intel Community, including CIA, was in agreement that Iran wasn’t developing a nuclear weapon & that Iran would target U.S. bases in the region & shut down the Strait of Hormuz if they were attacked by Israel & the U.S.,” Kent wrote in a post on Thursday.
“The IC also properly assessed that targeting the Iranian leadership would strengthen the regime and embolden the hardliners. Despite the professionalism & accuracy of the IC, the narrative & agenda spun by a foreign government- Israel, won the argument & forced us into this war,” he continued.
“We need to understand exactly how this happened to ensure we are never put in this position again,” he concluded.
White House spokesman Davis Ingle said the following in a statement to Fox News Digital: “Joe Kent’s self-aggrandizing resignation letter and recent comments are riddled with lies. Most egregious are Kent’s false claims that the largest state sponsor of terrorism somehow did not pose a threat to the United States and that Israel forced the President into launching Operation Epic Fury. As Commander-in-Chief, President Trump took decisive action based on strong evidence which showed that the terrorist Iranian regime posed an imminent threat and was preparing to strike Americans first. President Trump’s number one priority has always been ensuring the safety and security of the American people.”
Kent resigned from the National Counterterrorism Center director role back in March.
“I cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran,” he wrote in his resignation letter. “Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby.”
In an April Truth Social post, President Donald Trump slapped down the notion that Israel convinced him to enter the war against Iran.
“Israel never talked me into the war with Iran, the results of Oct. 7th, added to my lifelong opinion that IRAN CAN NEVER HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON, did,” the president wrote in part of the post, referring to the heinous Oct. 7, 2023, terror attack perpetrated against Israel.
Yeah sure, Palestinians in occupied Gaza committed a ‘terrorist attack’ against Israel on October 7 2023. Also, according to the West, by Hamas, a terrorist outfit no less…

They are all terrorists, even citizens in Western countries who protest Israel’s genocide in Gaza and now Lebanon amount to being terrorists.
But when Yanks and Kikes in American fighter jets launch an illegal war against Iran and drop bombs and kill innocent children and civilians, that’s what, self defence? They have to prevent Iran from getting a ‘nuclear weapon’. Anyone who believes that, especially if Christian, deserves to rot in hell.
Big mistake Trump and Netanyahu attacking Iran. Are they going to be prosecuted? In the court of public opinion, they are as guilty as hell.
I’m wary of this Joe Kent fellow. He came out of nowhere and ended up everywhere within weeks of his epiphany. He was and may still be a spook. He said this is Israel’s war but everybody knows that. He didn’t disclose anything new, he just rode in on what was already widely accepted.
He seems too good to be true. Whistleblowers with a background like his at the top of a US intel agency would surely end up dead or at the very least charged with espionage. This is the paranoid and belligerent US after all, where if you wear something red they wonder if you’re a commie.
I suspect his role is similar to that of Farage in Britain. They know they’ve lost the narrative and instead of letting it go to new places they need an insider to capture it, then over time they can bring it back to where the establishment wants it while trying to imply it’s a whole new direction.
Iran wasn’t making no bullshit nukes. No one has them. It’s a trillion dollar hoax , much like the faking of rocket ships going to the moon. As far as this so called “raging war” is concerned it’s just another looting conjob between cooperating merchants.
