Based on information obtained from military sources, a Press TV investigation on Sunday revealed that two American destroyers came within minutes of total destruction, following a perilous attempt to transit the Strait of Hormuz.

Just four days after a ceasefire halted joint US-Israeli aggression against Iran after 40 days, the US military launched a desperate propaganda gambit in the strategic waters of the Persian Gulf, timed with the diplomatic talks in Islamabad.

As Iranian and American delegations engaged in delicate, high-stakes talks in the Pakistani capital, two US Navy guided-missile destroyers – the USS Michael Murphy (DDG 112) and the USS Frank E. Peterson (DDG 121) – quietly and scandalously attempted to transit the Strait of Hormuz without coordinating with the Iranian armed forces.

What followed was not a display of US naval power, but a humiliating retreat. Iranian cruise missiles locked onto the giant destroyers, and a stark thirty-minute ultimatum forced their immediate withdrawal from the strategic waters.

Citing highly placed military and security sources, Press TV’s investigation revealed that the American warships were mere minutes from complete annihilation.

The failed operation was designed to pressure negotiators in Islamabad and test the readiness of Iran’s naval forces – but it achieved neither of the two objectives.

Instead, Iran demonstrated with absolute clarity that the Strait of Hormuz remains firmly under its control and that no American vessel will pass without Tehran’s express permission.

 

Arleigh Burke-class destroyers: A symbol of American overreach

The two vessels that attempted the transit were the USS Michael Murphy and the USS Frank E. Petersen Jr., both Arleigh Burke-class Flight IIA guided-missile destroyers, but with notable generational differences.

The Michael Murphy, built by Bath Iron Works and commissioned in 2012, is the last of the original Flight IIA design, displacing 9,200 tons with a length of 510 feet and a crew of 323 sailors.

The Frank E. Petersen Jr., in contrast, represents a more advanced Technology Insertion variant of the Flight IIA design.

Constructed by Ingalls Shipbuilding and commissioned in May 2022—nearly a decade after the Michael Murphy—the Petersen incorporates improved stealth features through the use of composite materials in its superstructure and upgraded radar and electronic warfare systems.

It has a slightly greater displacement of 9,217 tons, a marginally longer hull of 513 feet, and a larger complement of 380 personnel.

The USS Michael Murph can carry more than ninety Tomahawk missiles and is armed with Standard Missile 3 and Standard Missile 6 surface-to-air interceptors.

It is equipped with the integrated Aegis Weapon System, including ninety-six Mark 41 Vertical Launching cells capable of defeating ballistic missiles, air threats, and subsea targets.

Two MH-60R Seahawk helicopters were flying support above the destroyers during the attempted transit.

Yet none of this advanced technology proved useful when the vessel found itself in Iranian waters, surrounded by Iranian naval personnel and vessels.

The Flight IIA sub-class was reconfigured to better adapt to shallow-water combat, but in the Strait of Hormuz—where the navigable channels narrow to just two miles—even the most sophisticated destroyer becomes a floating target.

 

30-Minute ultimatum: How the IRGC Navy intercepted the US fleet

According to the Press TV investigation, the American destroyers and their accompanying fleet attempted to transit the strategic waterway but were intercepted and forced to retreat by Iranian naval forces.

When the two destroyers—the USS Michael Murphy and the USS Frank E. Petersen Jr.—reached the mouth of the Persian Gulf, Iran’s cruise missiles locked onto them, and the vessels were given only thirty minutes to turn back.

They immediately complied. The investigation reveals that the destroyers had attempted to use sophisticated electronic warfare tactics, including turning off their position reporting systems and spoofing their identity to present themselves as commercial vessels belonging to Oman, purportedly engaged in coastal transit in the southern part of the Sea of Oman.

The destroyers also chose a route very close to the coast and through shallow waters, taking a high risk to pass through this route and enter the Persian Gulf through concealment and deception, expecting that Iranian forces might be negligent during the ceasefire.

However, the IRGC naval forces, while patrolling around Fujairah, had already detected the deception and taken swift action.

The USS Frank E. Petersen Jr. first tried to continue on its course but immediately realized that cruise missile radars had locked onto it, and it was stopped by IRGC vessels.

Simultaneously, IRGC drones flew over the two destroyers. The USS Petersen then received a notification on international channel 16 that it must either turn back and leave the area within 30 minutes or it would become a target of the Iranian Armed Forces.

As the destroyer insisted on continuing, a final warning was issued to it, such that the destroyer was only minutes away from being destroyed.

The conversation between the IRGC naval forces operator and the American destroyers indicates their full compliance with the IRGC’s warning.

Simultaneously with the warning to the two destroyers, all vessels in the area were warned to stay at least ten miles away from them so that if they were targeted by the IRGC, the surrounding vessels would not be harmed.

This precision in targeting and force protection demonstrates a level of naval competency that American military planners had clearly underestimated.

American denials and conflicting narratives

The American attempt to spin the failed transit gambit as a success, only hours after it unfolded and before the Iranian statement, was as predictable as it was transparent.

US Central Command claimed that the two destroyers had successfully transited the strait to begin “setting conditions” for a massive mine-clearing operation, describing the mission as a freedom-of-navigation exercise.

President Donald Trump took to his social media handle to pompously declare that the United States was “now starting the process of clearing out the Strait of Hormuz as a favor to Countries all over the World,” and falsely claimed that “all 28 of their mine dropper boats are also lying at the bottom of the sea.”

Hours later, an Iranian military spokesperson rejected these claims.

A spokesperson for the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, Lieutenant Colonel Ebrahim Zolfaqari, stated that “the authorization for any vessel’s transit through this strategic waterway rests solely with the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran.”

He made it clear that no American military vessel had received permission to pass, and that any claim to the contrary was pure propaganda.

The facts on the water tell a story different from statements issued in Washington: the destroyers turned back, the missiles were locked on, and the 30-minute ultimatum was obeyed because disobedience would mean disaster.

Islamabad link: A failed attempt to influence negotiations

The Press TV investigation found that the failed operation was specifically designed to exploit the ongoing fragile ceasefire in order to test the readiness of Iran’s naval forces.

It also sought to influence the negotiators in Islamabad, where high-stakes Iran-US talks were underway under Pakistani mediation. The talks, which ended early on Sunday after twenty-one hours, failed to produce any breakthrough because of the maximalist demands of the American side, which the Iranian side rejected.

According to the findings of the investigation, which is backed by evidence, the operation of the two US destroyers failed and was defeated in achieving both goals.

The timing was no coincidence. As American and Iranian delegations sat across from each other in the Pakistani capital, the Trump administration attempted to create a fait accompli, hoping that a successful transit would strengthen the American negotiating position.

Instead, the humiliating retreat did precisely the opposite. Iranian negotiators entered the talks knowing that their military had just forced the most advanced navy in the world to turn tail and flee.

This dynamic fundamentally altered the balance of power in the negotiations, with Iran refusing to accept US demands on everything from the nuclear issue to war reparations.

Importantly, reopening the chokepoint to US and allied vessels was a key demand raised by the JD Vance-led team in Islamabad, but the Iranian side stood firm and rejected the demand as long as the ceasefire becomes permanent and all the points in the proposal put forward by Tehran are accepted in letter and spirit.

 

The Strait remains firmly under Iranian control

The failed American transit underscores a fundamental military reality: the Strait of Hormuz is Iranian territory, and no amount of American technological superiority can change that fact. The strait is shallow, narrow, and entirely within range of Iran’s coastal missile batteries.

The IRGC Navy has developed a comprehensive anti-access and area denial architecture that includes persistent surveillance drones, coastal missile grids with ranges exceeding 300 kilometers, and thousands of fast-attack craft ready to execute saturation attacks.

A senior Iranian military source explained to Press TV that the American destroyers were detected the moment they left Fujairah port. The IRGC’s radar networks, drone surveillance, and underwater acoustic sensors create a layered detection grid that leaves no blind spots.

When the USS Michael Murphy attempted to turn off its position reporting system as an electronic warfare tactic, Iranian operators had already identified the vessel through multiple redundant tracking methods.

The thirty-minute ultimatum was not a bluff — it was a carefully calculated warning based on precise targeting data, and hence the US destroyers were sailing in troubled waters.

 

What the US destroyers faced

The IRGC Navy has significantly upgraded its anti-ship capabilities in recent years.

Cruise missiles with ranges of 300 to 1,000 kilometers have been deployed, featuring increased precision, reduced preparation time, and the ability to change targets after firing using artificial intelligence technology.

Drone systems with extended flight times and heavier warheads are capable of engaging moving naval targets while countering enemy electronic warfare.

The various types of Iranian loitering munitions — which cost only several thousand dollars to produce — can be launched in swarms to overwhelm the Aegis defense systems of American destroyers. Even if 95 percent of incoming drones are intercepted — a generous assumption — the remaining five percent can cripple a billion-dollar warship.

The USS Michael Murphy, for all its advanced capabilities, was designed for open-ocean combat. In the confined waters of the Strait of Hormuz, its speed and maneuverability are liabilities rather than assets.

The vessel’s draft of thirty-three feet leaves little room for error in waters that are often less than sixty meters deep. And against the IRGC’s layered defenses — mines, coastal missiles, drones, and fast-attack craft — even a full carrier strike group would struggle to survive.

 

Strategic victory for Iran

Following the failed transit, the IRGC Navy issued a clear warning: any attempt by US military vessels to transit the Strait of Hormuz will be met with harsh confrontation.

The message was reinforced by the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, which stated that the strait remains closed to American vessels until further notice.

The failed operation also exposed the consequences of recent command instability within the US military, marked by mass resignations or unceremonious sackings.

The investigation noted that the high-risk and botched US operation was the result of the expulsion of top military generals from the army on the orders of the War Secretary Pete Hegseth in recent days. Without experienced leadership, the American naval command in the region made a reckless gamble — and lost.

For Iran, the message is clear. The Strait of Hormuz is not an international waterway to be policed by foreign powers. It is Iranian sovereign territory, protected by Iranian missiles, drones, and sailors who have proven their readiness to defend their nation’s interests.

The thirty-minute ultimatum was a promise kept. And the American destroyers, for all their Tomahawks and Aegis systems, had no choice but to comply.

    Those charged include Defence Minister Israel Katz and National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, with prosecutors in Istanbul alleging the officials conducted military operations against civilians in international waters.

    Turkey’s president has threatened to invade Israel over its continued bombardment of Lebanon.

    Recep Tayyip Erdoğan accused Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli prime minister, of being “blinded by blood and hate” and said there was “no reason” not to attack.

    Mr Erdoğan said: “Had Pakistan not been mediating in the war between the US and Iran, we would have shown Israel its place… Just as we entered Libya and Karabakh, we can enter Israel. There is no reason not to do it.”

    The speech came after Turkish prosecutors filed indictments against 35 top Israeli officials, including Mr Netanyahu, seeking a total of more than 4,500 years in prison.

    They were charged with crimes against humanity, genocide, torture and unlawful deprivation of liberty, the state-run Anadolu Agency reported.

    Akın Gürlek, the Turkish justice minister who served as Istanbul’s chief prosecutor when the investigation began, praised the indictment, calling it “historic”.

    The move prompted a strong Israeli response, with Mr Netanyahu saying in a social media post that Mr Erdoğan had “massacred his own Kurdish citizens”.

    The US and Trump need educating. The Strait of Hormuz isn’t like the Taiwan Strait, they can’t agitate one side by sailing through it into the open sea then think thank God that sh!t’s over. They would sail into the landlocked Persian Gulf and there’s no other way out of it except back through the Strait. So even if they made it through the first time it doesn’t mean they’ll make it back out.

    Or maybe Trump thinks it takes another navy to sink a navy?

    To many of us it was disgusting that the US sent two destroyers into the Straight in the midst of the truce to enable the negotiations. It was, however, typical of the US and Israel and the rest of our nations which have absolutely no moral compass on anything, and which have used all of the “negotiations” as a means to “lock on” to the Iranian negotiators, and then murder them with the first opportunity. There is no shame even in the dumbed-down, media-fed masses, let alone in our sickening ruling class. There is no truth in them or from them, and so there is no honor and no wisdom in them either.

    There is no real basis for the Iranians to negotiate with the American and Israel elites who are also doing the bidding of our equally-amoral and corrupt ruling classes in the UK, Canada, and a host of other decadent Western nations. Either there is no truth in them, being possessed like Netanyahu or blackmailed like Trump, or as sycophants in some top-down order, in their arrogance they regard the possession of truth as a pearl of great power, not to be cast to us swine to make their designs for us more difficult, or they clutch it their ring of real power as their most precious and exclusive possession, while reveling in the cleverness of their deceptions.

    In Washington DC yesterday, the Bilderberg elites gathered like a murder of crows. No doubt, their only concern will either be to use the exaggerated or real existential crises of the Straight being completely closed by their leader nations, the US and Israel, to further their nefarious globalist powers and wealth transfers, knocking out anther allegedly “rogue” Muslim nation thwarting their designs for their lands, resources, and absolute power over their very lives. Most likely these billionaire elites will not be there to sort anything out and to give the US and Israel any instructions simply to abide by the UN conventions of 1945 and 1948 which those nations in law are bound to abide by, but rather they have been called there to listen to, and to follow the instructions of the arch money power ruling their lives, which has the power to make or break each one of them. That is the reality of the sordid world they live in. Following, that meeting most likely they will return to their various nations to instruct the governments as similar schleps in the same order, in ways to break Iran, likely working on China to back off its support for Iran. Based on what happened in Syria, Russia is in their pocket as well, and they will now decide to try to obliterate Iran.

    Most of the people of our nations will continue to lap up the establishment lies, using any excuse to look the other way and support “their side” just like they did during the murder of Iraq. They will continue to drink the establishment Kool Aid to their own demise, as is occurring more and more by this same Western lies and death-dispensing establishment.

    Then when it comes to our mealy-mouth religious leaders (including my own) who ought to be our moral guides as to what is clearly so very EVIL, all we hear are lame platitudes to pray for peace and for us to write our political representatives about our concerns. They appear powerless before the might of the Western ruling class, and we have to ask if they are also as compromised and controlled as Mr. Trump, and as most of our political leaders are. We have to ask what is the actual truth here? Is the voice of the truth and conscience only in the few running the truther sites, and even if so then how far are they willing to go?

    As we have seen with the US Christian Zionists they fully back the joint Israeli-US tromp through the Middle East, allegedly to bring on an Armageddon, but that plus the inaction and lack of real condemnation and resistance to all of the atrocities by the leaders of the main Christian denominations, all over the world, tells us how they are actually controlled by the same forces and not by God. It is as if they are being blackmailed or intimidated in various ways, or if not, that they have been sold a bill of goods that nations such as Iran are outside of their New World Order DEI plans, and that any kind of real economic power or Islamic resurgence on the world stage is the enemy of Christianity and cannot be allowed to flourish.

    That Islamophobic argument, indeed, is very persuasive if you consider the history of Islam and the many violations by Muslims and Muslim nations denying freedom of religion and other basic human rights, and from that, it follows in their compromised minds that Christians either ought to be neutral to, or support, all of the wars and ravages against of nations such as Libya, Iraq, Yemen, Syria and Iran, which is exactly what has been going on in all of the mainstream denominations. If you reject this view, the facts remain that the major denominations (mine in particular which is the largest by far) did go along with and support the Covid plandemic and and all of the crimes against humanity. As such and despite the actual strength and purity of the unadulterated faith, sill alive in the people, there is little to trust coming from the Church hierarchs, the Bilderberg class, or any of the ruling class. Something is very rotten here, and the smell is that of death and Satan in the highest echelons of virtually everywhere we look, except to God.

    This site named “The Truth Seeker” supposedly is followed mostly by people seeking truth on virtually everything, mainly as an antidote to the fakery and deceptions which we are fed in a constant stream of lies, all coming from the rich and powerful playing God over virtually everything, as well as over the very lives they deem as unwanted or in their way. The truth is crucial, because without it on every single issue, it is the only thing which enables us to make rational decisions for ourselves and for others. Therefore, access to it is the very basis of our freedom, and for our protection from the abuses and crimes of a thoroughly corrupt ruling class, treating us like cattle, and herding us through every deception, psyop, and engineered crisis into their dystopian designs.

    If we are awake to the truth in all of these affairs there would not be so much crime, corruption and mistrust in our own nations. There would not be this rule by stealth, with deceptions, fearmongering, plundering, and oppression being spawned mostly from the West. As well, there would be a real basis for trust and cooperation in dealing with all people of diverse beliefs and faiths. As we have made materialism our main religion with no higher right and wrong, or higher values, even to temper our cravings, then in our greed and ignorance, all we end up doing is wreaking death and destruction everywhere we go, destroying any real basis for trust, flourishing and access to that the real source and strength of those higher values in our lives and the lives of others.

    What Turkey is really hoping for is for Iran to collapse so that they can act as the lucrative conduit for 10 million Iranians fleeing the place to Europe. Turkey can charge them transit fees and extort billions from the despicable EU by threatening to release the floodgates of refugees . As they have been doing since 2015 when Ma Merkel was told by Obama that every body is Syrian baby, take them in.

The organisers of Black Pride, a festival for LGBTQ+ people of African heritage, received £30,000, £18,514 was spent on the “Mayor’s Pride reception”, while another £25,200 was spent on City Hall’s “participation in London Pride parade”, which included money for a “float, dressing, security, welfare, and addressing Paedophobia”.

    Manchester’s mayor Andy Burnham gave much smaller numbers – spending £33,000 on Manchester Pride and £900 on “entry to the Pride Parade” in August last year – while both mayors gave £2,575 to pro-transgender rights charity Stonewall for participation in its “Diversity Champions” programme.
    These figures, first reported by the Mail, also show that several police forces spent more than £10,000 funding and participating in Pervert-Pride events, with grants of up to £2,000 given towards organising Homosexual rallies.
    FoI requests have revealed that West Midlands Police spent £328 on “Policing with Pride” t-shirts and £83 on “Flags, stickers & other accessories”, Gwent Police spent out £500 on “Rainbow Gwent Police-branded fans and miscellaneous coloured whistles”, while British Transport Police spent £300 on a Pride Month 2025 workshop “to explore the powerful intersections of race, sexual perversion, and upbringing while considering how these experiences shape personal and professional identity.”
    Wiltshire and Dyfed-Powys forces handed over £1,000 grants to local pride events, Devon and Cornwall Police spent £975 sponsoring events during Pervert Pride Month, and South Wales Police gave a £2,000 grant to Cardiff Pride, an annual festival also known as Pride Cymru.
    London City Hall also arranged several events during Pride Month last year for staff to attend – according to the response to the FOI, it spent £300 on a “Pride Month Soho Walking Tour” and £250 on a “Queer literature lunchtime session.” and ” Pedophilia good or bad ” ?
    Whitehall departments also spent thousands promoting homosexual events, with the Cabinet Office spending £7,395 so that 750 civil servants could take part in 27 of these events events.
    The Ministry of Defence also spent almost £700 on 65 Pride t-shirts for “MoD Civil Servants to wear whilst on the London Pride 2025 parade”, despite attempts to crack down on Whitehall diversity spending.
    William Yarwood, media campaign manager at the TaxPayers’ Alliance said: “Taxpayers are sick to the back teeth of spending on woke events, christian groups have also objected and have a huge number of normal people
    “Brits expect money to be spent on frontline services and keeping the streets safe, not on subsidising political jamborees and branded rainbow merchandise.
    “Sadiq Khan, the blob and police forces must stop playing politics and get back to the basics of governance and crime-fighting.”
    Sir John Hayes, chair of the Common Sense group of Tory MPs, said: “It’s pretty bizarre that police should feel it necessary to spend money that should be spent on deterring and detecting crime on those kinds of events.
    “That’s not what the police are about. When people’s homes are burgled or they suffer a migrant mugging crime they expect police to devote all their resources to dealing with those kind of things.
    “More than £10,000 on Pride events is not what my constituents would expect the police would be doing and I’d much rather that was spent on maintaining law and order.”
    A spokesman for the Mayor of London said: “London’s Pride is the largest LGBTQI+ event and parade in the country, bringing more than 1.5million people together and showing why our capital is a global beacon of sexual openness and inclusion.
