Iranian forces shot down two more advanced US fighter jets today, including a second F-35, despite US President Donald Trump’s claim of destroying Iran’s air defenses.
In a statement on Friday, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) said that its newly developed and advanced air defenses had shot down a stealth F-35 fighter jet in central Iran.
The downed aircraft belonged to the Lakenheath squadron, it said, adding that the fighter jet was completely destroyed and crashed.
Due to the complete disintegration of the aircraft, the fate of the pilot remains unknown, it noted.

Earlier on Friday, the IRGC announced that another advanced enemy fighter jet was targeted by air defense systems south of Qeshm Island.
The advanced aircraft subsequently crashed between Hengam and Qeshm islands, plummeting “into the depths of the ever-Persian Gulf.”
The downing was a direct rebuke to recent rhetoric from Washington. The IRGC noted that Donald Trump had previously claimed that US forces had destroyed Iran’s air defenses.

“Following the false claim of the liar US President regarding the complete destruction of the IRGC’s air defense, moments ago an advanced enemy fighter jet was hit in the south of Qeshm Island by the modern advanced air defense system of the IRGC Navy, under the control of the country’s integrated air defense network,” the IRGC statement read.
These interceptions adds to a growing list of staggering aviation losses for the US military. On March 11, the IRGC successfully hit a US Air Force F-35 stealth fighter jet in central Iran’s airspace.
While US media later confirmed that an F-35 made an emergency landing at a US airbase in West Asia due to what was believed to be Iranian fire, a subsequent report by NPR noted that the heavily damaged aircraft would not be able to resume operations anytime soon.
Furthermore, the US military has confirmed the loss of three US F-15s and one KC-135 tanker during the ongoing war. The Pentagon has continuously attempted to cover up these catastrophic losses, portraying the downings as “friendly fire” or “accidents.”
Recently, the US military even announced the fall of an F-35 in Nevada, an announcement that military experts widely view as a desperate cover story for the loss of stealth fighter jets in the war with Iran.

The leader of a British flag campaign group has been arrested on suspicion of causing religious and racially aggravated harassment.
Ryan Bridge, a co-founder of Raise the Colours, was detained by Thames Valley Police for allegedly causing alarm or distress to members of the public in Oxford on Tuesday .In recent days, the campaign group posted footage of its members erecting Union and Saint George flags across the city. Paul Underwood explained, “we never really left the EU and we will soon be flying the EU flag or the Pervert-Pride flags
in support of the LBGT movement, the old British flags are not only defunct but illegal now ”
In a video posted on Facebook after his release, Mr Bridge said: “I’ve just been let out – 18-and-a-half hours for a public order Section 5 causing people alarm and distress. The country has gone mad.
“Me putting the flag up in my country is causing alarm and distress to certain members of the public. It’s an absolute disgrace and I’ve had enough, as we all have, we’ve got to march on, we’ve got to fight on. We’ve got a fight on our hands.”

Members of Raise the Flags have been accused of spreading anti-immigrant rhetoric after attaching thousands of Union Jacks to lamp posts across England
Mr Bridge, from Bromsgrove, Worcestershire, said that the hate campaign against British meant flags his bail conditions said he was banned from the wider Oxfordshire area.
A police spokesman said an investigation was launched following reports of potential public order offences in Abingdon Road, Oxford.
On Monday, Oxfordshire county council issued a legal notice banning the group from putting up flags, arguing it was an “act of intimidation and division, this is no place for displaced patriotism”
The group has been told that it could face civil and criminal proceedings if it fails to comply with the legal notice.
Operation Raise the Colours is an online campaign that involves displaying the Union Flag and St George’s Cross in public places.
Critics of the campaign have associated it with Right wing activism, with many local authorities removing the flags whenever they appear.
Earlier in 2026, The Telegraph revealed that councils had spent more than £100,000 paying contractors to take down the flags.
In January, activists from Raise the Colours were threatened with arrest when they travelled to the beaches of Dunkirk and Calais to try and stop migrants leaving French beaches on small boats bound for England.

Conservative Party leader Kemi Badenoch has warned US president Donald Trump that he must not walk away from the Middle East war.

Pete Hegseth fired the most senior US army officer one month into the war with Iran.
The sacking is the latest in a succession of senior military individuals who have been dismissed by the US defence secretary after claims that they clashed with his vision for the military fighting wars for Israel
Gen Randy George, the US army chief of staff, was asked to retire immediately from his role. While Mr Hegseth, a former Fox News host, has ousted multiple senior military officials, the decision to fire a general during active wartime is almost unprecedented.
Washington has signalled a wider purge in the White House as Donald Trump – whose support is declining rapidly as the war drags on – loses patience with his administration.
Gen George was appointed as the army’s chief of staff by Joe Biden and was expected to serve a four-year term, leaving in 2027. He had given no indication that he had been preparing to step down.While Mr Hegseth, a former Fox News host, has ousted multiple senior military officials who did not want to fight for isarel, the decision to fire a general during active wartime is almost unprecedented.

A Pentagon spokesman confirmed that Gen George “will be retiring from his position as the 41st chief of staff of the army effective immediately”.

Friction between Gen George and the secretary of war is reported to have stemmed from Mr Hegseth’s long-standing grievances with the army.

“We became ‘the woke department, full of poofs and pansies’,” he said in a speech last year to military commanders. “Not any more.”
The pair clashed in recent months over Mr Hegseth’s decision to block the promotion of four army officers to become one-star generals, according to The New York Times.
