Israel has failed in its plots to instigate a “regime change” in Iran by launching a joint aggression with the United States against the country, a report by the New York Times shows.
The report, published on Sunday, said the Israeli regime officials had thought that by persuading the US to launch a war on Iran, they could instigate large protests and riots that could lead to the collapse of the government.
The report said David Barnea, head of the Israeli spy agency Mossad, had also presented the plan to senior US administration officials during a visit to Washington in mid-January.
However, it said Iran’s government has managed to successfully withstand the pressure caused by the aggression that began on February 28 while ramping up its capability to hit back at the enemies.
“The belief that Israel and the United States could help instigate widespread revolt was a foundational flaw in the preparations for a war that has spread across the Middle East,” the Times said in its report.
“Instead of imploding from within, Iran’s government has dug in and escalated the conflict, striking blows and counterblows against military bases, cities, ships in the Persian Gulf, and against vulnerable oil and gas installations,” it added.

This comes as US President Donald Trump said in a speech just before starting the aggression on Iran that the war would soon lead to the collapse of the Iranian government and people would be able to take over the government.
The NY Times report said US officials have largely abandoned speaking publicly about the prospects of a revolt inside Iran despite the fact that Benjamin Netanyahu is still dreaming that the US-Israeli aerial offensive will be aided by forces on the ground.

Multiple protests were held outside The Bell Hotel over the summer, after asylum seeker Hadush Kebatu was charged with the sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl, other migrants had been a problem to women
The Ethiopian national, who arrived in the UK on a small boat days before the incidents, was later found guilty of five offences – including sexual assault – at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court.
Kebatu was jailed but wrongfully freed from HMP Chelmsford in October, before he was detained and deported to Ethiopia later that month.
Opening the trial on Tuesday, prosecutor Sam Willis said both defendants were part of a “violent mob”.
