There is an interesting newsletter today from Simplicius on events in the Iran War. Amongst other things he says many early-warning radar systems of the US have been destroyed across the Middle East and interceptor missiles are so depleted the US may soon have to decide which Iranian missiles to let through.
He also said once Iran has forced the depletion of AD missiles, it could have near-total ability to wipe out many oil facilities if it chooses to. I don’t see why BRICS need to continue buying oil through stock markets after that, when they could easily implement a real free-market policy of negotiating with suppliers their own prices and currencies to take the west’s betting culture out of oil markets. We don’t buy bread by bidding what we’ll pay for it at the grocers every day, and for something as vital as energy supplies there must be better ways to secure supply and price.
