In a statement yesterday, the office of the British Prime Minister announced plans to broaden the scope of the “social media ban” for minors that would see virtual private networks (VPNs) included in the future.
Speaking to “parents and carers” today, Sir Keir Starmer is expected to “make clear this government will act at pace to keep kids safe online as they navigate a digital world that did not exist a generation ago, and one that is shaped by powerful platforms, addictive design and fast-moving technologies.”
He will also be announcing potential “new powers” which will come into force after a “consultation” this summer.
The reference to VPNs is a single line in a long statement:
…as well as options to age restrict or limit children’s VPN use where it undermines safety protections…
…but it should be the most concerning to anyone who has been paying attention.
It has been said a thousand times, but always bears repeating, the “social media ban” deployed in the UK (and Australia, and Spain and…wherever) has nothing to do with protecting children, and everything to do with the state’s war on privacy.
Banning children from social media effectively means everyone who isn’t a child has to prove their age, which means verifying with ID or biometrics.
It’s a dagger to the heart of online privacy and anonymity, and that very much is the point.
VPNs offer an easy way of circumventing age-verification measures imposed by tyrannical governments worldwide, so it’s not surprising in the least that those same governments are rushing to close that loophole.
What would “restricting or limiting children’s VPN use” really mean, in practical terms?
The same as the social media ban.
The only way it can work is by adding identity verification to any VPN software – free or paid – you can download and install. Not just for the account holder, but for every user who shares the account and every device on the account.
It would effectively kill the entire point of having the VPN in the first place.
It remains to be seen if the VPN companies will cooperate, and it will be highly interesting to see how they react to the news. After all, they are essentially being told to tie their biggest selling point to a stone table and gut it with a flint knife.
And yet don’t be surprised if there is little-to-no resistance from the corporate side, after all there has been almost none from social media companies in general so far.
Resistance to this is going to have come from the ground up, as per usual, because they are laying building blocks for a digital prison all around us.
As Big Brother Watch said in their statement:
The ability of adults and children to enjoy the enhanced privacy provided by VPNs is a sign of a healthy liberal democracy. Starmer’s latest unfortunate announcement should worry everyone who values such a society remaining free.”

Let’s watch all the “I’ve used a vpn for years” crowd bitch about it, then do nothing. On the face of it, it makes no difference unless the kike dictators in the jew-k ban it on the backbone, because their prey will just sign up to a foreign vpn that the kike can’t pervert. But the bitches on all sides will bitch nonetheless, at least until the next click bait comes along. If you’re using a vpn in your own country you’re wide open to your overlords anyway. If you want to give yourself the illusion of “safety”, you should be signed up to one in an “enemy” country. But there are two problems with that. First, it’s highly likely your kike friends own or are at least “affiliated” with the “foreign” vpn and so have complete access to it anyway. And second, if they don’t, then the “enemy” knows what you’re doing and might “attack you” instead. The world is full of the just-enough-to-hang-themselves brigade who say “I’ve never had so much as a sniff of trouble”. Well, what do you think they’re going to do to you? Arrest you for all that “illegal” stuff you’re downloading? They don’t care about it. That time has passed. They’re simply silently noting what you’re doing. Merely having a vpn makes you “bad”. When UBI and the social credit system kicks in, your “score” will be “adjusted” accordingly. Every connection that goes between your computer and the internet is logged. All that data is fed into the “data centres”. The “AI” searches for “patterns”. Your “pattern” is thousands of connections a minute for hours at a time to foreign servers. The “good” “pattern” is almost all connections going to servers in your washed-up country, to the “bbc”, your “bank”, local amazon servers to view your prescribed indoctrination, etc. You don’t match the “good” “pattern”, so you’re a “bad” guy. Understand? That’s (part) of the reason why they never tell you what the mighty “data centres” and “AI” are actually doing and are actually for. The social credit system. Learn to say the words and goose-step to the tune.
Does anyone seriously believe that Virtual Private Networks ( VPNs ) are actually private? And if so do they then really believe that the SATT ( scum at the top ) would allow them?
As for protecting children, if Starmer and all of the other corrupt politicos were serious they would ban pornography sites.
Kweer Smarmer deserves to be whipped in the streets, force-fed wads of Orc shit, and have his tongue riveted to his own chin…then hanged from a highway overpass with his pants around his ankles. And what abject snivelry to call some shit-stain like Smarmer “Sir”.
No friend of Starmer, I nevertheless approve this move. No good is to be had by children living on their keyboards, let alone by their talking to anonymous strangers. They gain far more when they spend their free time playing football, going swimming, engaging in footraces, reading novels, etc.
‘The ability of adults and children to enjoy the enhanced privacy provided by VPNs is a sign of a healthy liberal democracy.’
Tosh. A democracy is anything but healthy when it facilitates anonymous predators’ ability to target children.
I’m with Tony on this.
TPTB know who we all are – including those who post here.
The real problem is the FEAR of waiving anonymity IMO. TPTB WANT people to be afraid of standing up and being counted. Look. It is understandable to want to preserve anonymity. After all, that is what the super wealthy do anyway one way or another – including wealth in Babushka style institutions; one in another that is in another.
By relying on a nom de plume we help to marginalise ourselves because we are basically saying we don’t want the doxxing finger pointed at us as extremists/conspiracy theorists/radical/anarchists/weirdos/nutters etc. I say let the world catch up with us. And if we are wrong on certain matters then demonstrate why.
Every time we hide behind a user name we kill a little bit of ourselves because we empower the faceless machine to keep grinding us down. When someone, like say Mandelson or Starmer, appear on TV giving their views – and we knowing of their deviance; surely this says something about all of us that they speak but we remain faceless?
So VPN itself seems a charter for slaves IMO. And for the most part – as the Scamdemic revealed – slavery in the modern age is a self-imposed status. TPTB need compliance. Their favourite trick is to inculcate fear in the many. Do not be afraid. Death is certain for all of us. It is how we live that counts. Problems usually present themselves from directions we can never predict.

Another clueless. It ain’t about preotecting children. It’s about silencing everyone else. Wake up! They use children because it “tugs at your heartstrings” (although you don’t seem to “care” about the victims of the rape gangs or the 54% in “extreme poverty”).
