I worked on a drilling rig Sediran Rig 2, and on my weeks off wandered the streets of Tehran, and experienced some very great art, especially the famous miniatures, carpets, jewelry, and furniture. UK Fireman wrongly sacked after saying woman he rescued ‘looked haggard’

A fireman was wrongly sacked after saying that a 30-year-old woman he rescued “looked haggard for her age”, a tribunal has ruled.
Pete Langton, a crew commander in Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire, was dismissed in 2023 after being reported for “misogyny” over the comment
He was accused of having upset female colleagues with his comment on the woman’s appearance.
However, Mr Langton is now in line for compensation after Watford Employment Tribunal ruled that his misconduct was “overstated” and he had been unfairly dismissed .
He was suspended after telling a December 2022 meeting that the rescued woman, who has not been named, looked “bad” and “haggard for her age”.
Disrespectful comments’
Mr Langton was reported to management by Anna Ditta, a community safety co-ordinator in Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service’s prevention department, who said his remarks were “misogynistic” and “sexualised”. When told to stop talking about the woman like that, miss Ditta a communist with lesbian tendencies claimed Mr Langton had muttered: “Even I wouldn’t”. it was said he had made “disrespectful comments” about the woman. who had a very shabby appearance and a body odour problem
Mr Langton said Miss Ditta had asked him whether the woman was his type, and that he had responded “in jest” with the “off-the-cuff comment”.
He said he did not intend offence and that he had also used the term “pull a pig”, a crude term referring to a man who romantically pursues a woman who he does not find attractive.
When asked by Miss Ditta to stop, he recalled saying: “No, it wasn’t very nice. But I’m sure that you have the same for the men that are left alone at the end of the night.”
