I can attest for the power of fasting – everyone should try it for at leaset 3 days as that’s when (for me) you start to feel supercharged.
Anything less than 36 hours isn’t really fasting. I eat 1 meal a day, so that’s once in 24 hours…I wouldn’t call that fasting at all.
And a quick word on hunger – next time you feel hungry, wait for 20 minutes and you won’t do. So were you really hungry, or is your body clock telling you ‘you usually eat something now’?
Fasting is the opposite of over eating. Where did the weight you lose come from? Answer: over eating. So you over eat, fast, them over eat. If you want to be “healthy” (whatever that means), then eat just enough every day. Stuffing, starving, stuffing, starving isn’t what nature intended, any more than it intended you to run around for a hour then sit for twenty three hours.
Interestingly, Ash Wednesday – the beginning of Lent – and Ramadan start at close to the same date this year. So yes, I agree with the purport of a reduced eating window from later winter into spring as a natural time for reducing food input. As I have got older I have realised the year as well as the day has a natural cycle that one does best to harmonise with than oppose.

Of course the sad truth is that not eating kills you and fasting was always used as a tool of dominance and control by re-legions and cults..nowadays you have new age gooroos who find eastern metafizzics cool and profitable and a plethora of faddish protocols based on fake science..
I think on balance starvation only works if you know you can have a good meal before you expire..

Better get used to the idea of fasting, most city people will have no choice. Everything is tied to the power and internet: (production, delivery and sales). I believe it would take about three months to return to the non-computer based delivery system. So, if there is a problem we will all be very healthy or dead.

I’m from New Orleans, so I’d rather get my head chopped off than not indulge in good food, and I mean good food. Unfortunately, most “food” tastes like sawdust by comparison where I now live.
The trick is committing to cleaner foods, not eating at the wrong times..and not shoveling processed lard down your gullet. I eat well, but avoid “snack foods” – unless you call an occasional aged Scotch a snack – but I’m quite fit because I don’t stuff myself like a f*cking pig, don’t eat at the wrong times in relation to my daily rhythm, and stay somewhat active. I’m well into my 50s, still have washboard abs, and built like a statue in a classics museum…except taller and with a bigger dong…
