AI data centre consume truly prodigious amounts of power and water, for cooling. As a result, the power and water resources of nearby communities are put under strain. Awakened to this threat, people are organizing against the data centres.

In the 17th century, they pushed back against the goons in the castles because they were stealing the best muffins. They ignored the rapes and murders. This is the same. “Oh no, it uses power,” and never “… it’s the social credit system.” And how, pray tell, are they “organising”? By “protesting”? I haven’t heard of a single data centre being torched, have you? Anymore than I’ve heard of a single turd worlder being slaughtered.
A massive fire risk. People will have to underwrite the huge insurance premiums, and when these places start burning down because there’s no one in them to spot fires starting, they’ll be forced to underwrite the losses when the insurance companies say they’re not paying out those huge sums.
Put up huge buildings like to house people, can’t afford to do it. Put up huge buildings like that to house data, can’t afford not to do it.

A handy metric to judge the wealth of a given society is per capita energy consumption. The per capitia of the average citizen in the West is dropping all the while it is going up for AI. I guess we just found who or what will own EVERYTHING that will not be allowed to own and we’ll be Happy?
