- U.S. President Donald Trump, who has long advocated for control over Greenland, has reiterated his interest in taking over the mineral-rich Arctic territory.
- “We need Greenland from the standpoint of national security,” Trump said Sunday on Air Force One after the U.S. strike on Venezuela.
- The leaders of Denmark and Greenland condemned the comments, while an analyst said Denmark is now in “full crisis mode” over the issue.
Denmark is in “full crisis mode” after U.S. President Donald Trump once again set his sights on Greenland, following the strike on Venezuela.
“We need Greenland from the standpoint of national security and Denmark is not going to be able to do it, I can tell you,” Trump said Sunday on Air Force One, echoing similar remarks made separately to The Atlantic magazine.
His comments come a day after the U.S. conducted a major military operation in Venezuela, capturing Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, in a surprise intervention that sent shock waves across the globe.
It has raised alarm in Denmark, which is responsible for the defense of Greenland, a self-governing Danish territory.
“I have to say this very directly to the United States: It makes absolutely no sense to talk about the need for the United States to take over Greenland,” Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said Sunday in a Facebook post.
“The Kingdom of Denmark – and thus Greenland – is part of NATO and is therefore covered by the alliance’s security guarantee. We already have a defense agreement between the Kingdom and the United States today, which gives the United States wide access to Greenland,” Frederiksen said.
“I would therefore strongly urge the United States to stop the threats against a historically close ally and against another country and another people who have said very clearly that they are not for sale,” she added.
Greenlandic Prime Minister Jens-Frederik Nielsen said on social media that Trump’s remarks were “very rude and disrespectful.”
‘The Greenland risk is underpriced’
Trump has long advocated for control over Greenland, a vast and sparsely populated territory rich in minerals that is strategically situated between Europe and North America.
Opinion polls have previously shown that Greenlanders overwhelmingly oppose U.S. control, while a strong majority support independence from Denmark.
Copenhagen has sought to improve ties with Greenland in recent months, pledging to boost spending for health care and infrastructure investments, while also seeking to defuse tensions with the Trump administration by investing in Arctic defense, including the purchase of 16 additional F-35 fighter jets.
Mujtaba Rahman, managing director for Europe at political risk consultancy Eurasia Group, said the Danish government is in “full crisis mode” over Trump’s latest comments, citing Frederiksen’s statement over the weekend.
“As I’ve long argued, the Greenland risk is underpriced,” Rahman said Sunday in a LinkedIn post.
“A possible US intervention in Greenland is now the biggest source of risk to the transatlantic alliance and intra-NATO and intra-EU cohesion, arguably far greater than those presented by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine,” Rahman said.
The U.S. president, who has previously refused to rule out the use of military or economic force to take Greenland, named Louisiana Republican Gov. Jeff Landry as special envoy to Greenland last month.
The appointment was condemned by both Denmark and Greenland. Landry has publicly endorsed Trump’s push to bring Greenland under U.S. control.

Yet, not a single soldier is there to protect it? Not that they could. Apparently, america has had a base there since WW2, so they already effectively control it, just as they control places like Japan and the “UK” and europe and all the other places covered with their bases.
Bearing in mind the notion of Denmark “owning” Greenland is a little antiquated, in an ideal world Greenland might be accorded a similar status to Antarctica in terms of international treaties – or at least in the spirit of these. After the European tsunami the lowlands of Denmark are washed clean, just like Britains lowlands. Just guessing, but the suggestion that the US probably wants the territory not just for natural resources, but also for weather wars, should get Denmark and the entire EU much more concerned regarding their own future security, especially from the monstrous US usurpations. Both HAARP installations and chemtrails we know are largely coordinated for weather wars. The US assaults over our nations and cities with chemtrails we know are used for more than dropping particles in the atmosphere to reflect sunlight and the fake need for global cooling. The cloud covers are also receptive to HAARP generated electromagnetic pulsations from American bases in Alaska and likely other areas for “weather wars” to cause droughts, and even violent weather changes in various nations – also, of course, to divert cloud formations to favored areas.

However, the electromagnetic charging of cloud formations from polar regions is something mainly meant to control the weather over the northern hemispheres, and is something the American military and establishment is very much into. In a free world, and with the free distribution of fact and reason, and in which there were sever consequences against any ruling class, power, or government in lying to the people, international conventions would empower the people would to have some real purchase or check over the conduct of the powerful. Such fraudulent and extortive conduct as with the threatened annexation by the US powers would be more easily checked. Despite the movements of the corrupt establishment to take over and distort the independent media, we find that all of their major deceptions, and the exposures of their atrocities, have shorter and shorter shelf lives. This is not theory. It is fact, and more and more people are waking up to it. The truth when spread is the only thing which survives, and despite AI manipulations, and all of the money spent to deceive us, and divert our attentions with information overload, and psyops like the Kirk one, it is the truth which always survives and triumphs through free speech.
Those in power fear free speech and they continually want to suppress it because it is their exclusive possession of knowledge and the alleged “right” to deceive, which is the basis of their power over the people. That power is not based on justice or real trust. They know that contrary to the way we are presently ruled, that with the spread of knowledge of true facts and their actual motives, their powers to exploit and manipulate anyone they wanted would be extinguished. All empires, and especially the largest financial one on earth, instead of seeing the flourishing of all mankind through the free distribution of truth and knowledge, they see such as a fundamental threat to their plans, and to their lust for power and control over virtually everything. To continue with their exclusivity, secrecy, and powers constantly to deceive us, if we did not have enemies, then like the US and Israel and empires of the past, they would deceitfully manufacture them, in order to justify their exclusive control of the very knowledge we need in order to make responsible decisions over our lives, and also over how our own decisions and those who make decisions on our behalf really affect the lives of others.
As they are also afraid of the truth escaping and exposing their crimes, they are in fact deathly afraid of free speech, and any the spread of information which is not carefully vetted, manipulated, and controlled. The suppression of the Epstein facts and the Covid crimes against humanity are two recent examples. The suppression of the TRUTH also clearly proves they are afraid of JUSTICE, simply based on the axiomatic facts, that without full disclosure of the facts on any issue, no rational, reasonable, or JUST decision can be made. It follows that the present ruling class governing our nations (which everywhere appears to rule on the Satanic principles that might makes right, and the ends justify the means), has no real interest of a genuine and lasting TRUST “IN, OF, and FOR” the people, which is the only real basis of real PEACE and Human Flourishing.
Real Peace is always dependent on Truth, Justice and Trust. It is not just an interlude after a major war, or found in putting an end to a war going on in your nation, such as in the Ukraine, which incidentally is a war which would not have occurred without all of the lies and manipulations of the major powers, and the thoroughly evil ruling classes. A steady diet of mass deceptions, fear, uncertainty, wars, and human atrocities is exactly how we are ruled, and the evil powers know that with the free distribution of knowledge and the duty of disclosure that their time on earth is over.
Apart from the way we are actually naturally made (which they also want to change), there is no virtue in itself in having knowledge and truth in our possession or over others, but it is because knowledge presents opportunities for power over others, is the reason it is so coveted, and why its spread is highly controlled and most often suppressed by the powerful. However, once there is a wide distribution of the truth (i.e., for the skeptics – what we honestly believe to be “true”) the abuses of the powerful in effect are caught and greatly limited.
With respect to Peace, which is largely a product of the disclosure of the truth, it is not just something to be found in settling differences between competing nations, as said. If you live in a tyranny or in a pseudo free nation in which the authorities have an unfettered right to control, distort, divert and suppress the facts, there is no real Peace in the people. In the USSR the people were terrorised by the state from even searching for the truth. In the West the battle appears to be more open, but there is far more spent and deployed on methods to distort, dissemble and lie to the people. Where dishonesty is Kosher to get and maintain power and wealth over others by the ruling class, then either a totalitarian police state is necessary to maintain control of the people, or dishonesty becomes the norm, and you have a flourishing of crime and fear, all of which spell the absence of any real peace and human flourishing. We are presently living in societies with increasing totalitarianism in the midst of a tyranny of lies.
The free disclosure of the truth through free speech is the basis of honest debate, and the ridding our nations of the rule of the powerful through deception, fear, division, and oppression. It is the unity in the people based on the facts and good will which triumphs over those evil ways of ruling, which those in power fear the most, and it is exactly why all of the fledgling populist movements are quickly being taken over and subverted by the ruling money power.
US needs Greenland to have control over the Russia-China polar-silk-corridor. Also regarding Venezuela, while I don’t have high hopes for them, still US does not control this country yet and Russia, China and also Iran have some presence there. Perhaps a joint Russia/China/Iran navy could be sent to help Venezuela.
