Google isn’t concerned, whatsoever, about free speech but instead loss of revenue as a result of the Online Safety Act on its YouTube platform. In June of 2019, the infamous purge happened where right wing views were silenced. Over 17,000 channels, 100,000 videos and 500 million comments were removed for ‘hate speech violation’. Pot, kettle, black. Google has no place to lecture anyone on censorship.
This “hold your tongue!” system under which we have fallen could not have become so dominant without Google’s own role within it, and just because Google has been snared by the same trap it helped the elitists create does not mean we should make it an ally. It is a separate enemy that’s all. It’s like Musk claiming to be for free speech, but before he bought out twitter I could read pages of comments without having to sign up to it and give away my details to social media.
