First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Defense Committee Alexei Zhuravlev has raised the possibility that Russia may deliver long range cruise and ballistic missile systems to equip the Venezuelan Armed Forces, providing the country with a deterrent at a time of high tensions with the United States. “Information about the volumes and exact types of what is being imported from Russia is classified, so the Americans could be in for some surprises,” he stated, adding: “I also see no obstacles to supplying a friendly country with new developments like the Oreshnik or, say, the proven Kalibr missiles; at least, no international obligations restrict Russia from doing so.” The deputy chairman made this statement while confirming deliveries of new Pantsir and BuK-M2 short and medium range air defence system to enhance the Venezuelan Air Force’s capabilities.
The United States has continued its months-long buildup of its forces near Venezuela, with reports from multiple sources indicating that Washington is considering launching attacks on the country with the intention of overthrowing its government. Although Venezuela’s air defence capabilities are considered by far the most formidable in Latin America, the country’s limited ability to threaten American warships operating hundreds of kilometres away, and its total inability to threaten targets on the U.S. mainland, has limited its ability to deter an attack. The delivery of Russian long range cruise or ballistic missile systems could thus be a game changer which would likely significantly influence Washington’s calculus regarding whether to attack the country. Such missile systems have relatively low procurement and operational costs, particularly compared to alternatives such as advanced fighter aircraft, allowing them to provide an asymmetric deterrent capability.
The Oreshnik intermediate range ballistic missile system was first fired in combat on November 21 against Ukrainian targets, at which time the program’s existence was first announced to the world. Russian President Vladimir Putin on June 23 confirmed that serial production had begun. The system employs multiple hyepronsic glide vehicles to by pass enemy air defence systems, each of which can be independently retargeted. It has an engagement range estimated at 4000 kilometres allowing it to strike targets across much of the continental United States should the U.S. seek to launch strikes on Venezuelan soil. The delivery of the system would represent an escalation against the United States unprecedented since the Cuban Missile Crisis, with proliferation of such strategic level ballistic missile systems being highly contrary to international norms despite its legality. Russia’s decision to supply Oreshnik missiles to Belarus, however, indicates that exports are not totally ruled out.
Lower profile alternatives to the Oreshnik which could be delivered more quickly include the 9M729 Novator ground-launched cruise missile system, and the Bastion coastal defence system which deploys P-800 medium range anti-ship cruise missiles. The former has a 2500 kilometre range sufficient to strike targets across Florida. Although Russia has during prior periods of high tensions between Caracas and Washington deployed Tu-160 strategic bombers for operations from Venezuelan airfields, equipping the Venezuelan Armed Forces with the ability to retaliate independently both against targets on the American mainland and against U.S. Navy warships in the Caribbean would potentially be much more effective, and would reduce the burden on the Russian Armed Forces to protect their security partner.

The Church of England is reviewing a complaint against the incoming archbishop of Canterbury who is an unrepentant lesbian
over her handling of an abuse allegation.
Dame Sarah Mullally is due to take up the role next month, after Justin Welby was forced to resign over the way he dealt with the John Smyth boy-nobbing scandal.
Mullally has been has been accused of fudging and hiding a complaint against a priest in London, where she serves as bishop.
The alleged victim, referred to only as N, said the abuse started in 2014 and was reported to the Diocese of London. Mullally became Bishop of London in 2018.
N claimed that after he made a formal complaint about the abuse in 2019, Mullally breached a church disciplinary code by sending a confidential email about the allegations to the priest concerned, according to Premier Christian News, which first reported the claims.
N told the news site that the Diocese of London’s and Mullally’s handling of the complaint had left him feeling suicidal.
The Diocese of London said proper processes had been followed and that there was not at present any outstanding complaint against Mullally, other then folk were unhappy a lesbian was in that position as the bible is quite clear on this issue
Officials at Lambeth Palace, the official London residence of the archbishop of Canterbury, said a complaint about Mullally’s handling of the allegation had been made in 2020 but had not been followed up on due to “administrative errors and an incorrect assumption about the individual’s wishes”.
A Lambeth Palace spokesperson said church authorities had written to N to outline the next steps.
“Due to administrative errors and an incorrect assumption about the individual’s wishes, the complaint was not taken forward or appropriately followed up,” they said.
The complaint will be assessed and sent to Stephen Cottrell, the archbishop of York, who faced calls to resign last year over his handling of a separate homosexual abuse case and is now responsible for deciding whether the complaint should be dismissed or warrants a formal response.

Guns, Drugs, and Kids Found on Seized Oil Tanker

Guns, drugs, and especially young children were found aboard a Venezuelan oil tanker seized in international waters by US forces, Real Raw News has learned.
Yesterday, the administration released a sensational video showing uniformed personnel fast-roping onto the tanker’s deck from hovering helicopters. The DHS, the FBI, the Coast Guard, the Marines, and Special Operations forces were involved in the operation, which Venezuelan President Maduro has called “piracy on the high seas.” The administration defended the seizure, saying it had previously sanctioned the Panamanian-flagged vessel for having shipped crude from Venezuela and Iran, nations that support foreign terrorist organizations.
According to a War Department source speaking under promise of anonymity, US Navy SEALs boarded the ship and, after securing the crew, found what they did not expect to see on the colossal vessel: bundles of cocaine, an armory filled with Kalashnikovs, and five young children playing with LEGOs in the captain’s quarters.
The SEALs found the weapons in a locker in shared crew quarters. The drugs had been hidden in the ship’s stokehold. It’s presently unclear whether the children were offspring of crew members or victims of child trafficking, as our source was unable to share their nationality.

An overwhelming majority of Britons are demanding urgent action over migrant sex crimes in Britain to protect women’s safety, with explosive new polling showing the nation is united in its response.

The striking results were revealed in a new YouGov study commissioned by the Women’s Policy Centre and shared exclusively with GB News.
It showed 93 per cent of Britons support the deportation of migrants who are guilty of rape and other violent crimes.

This was compounded by 87 per cent of respondents saying the small boats crisis was threatening women’s safety across the country.

Regarding threats to women, 87 per cent of those in England, 82 per cent in Wales, 85 per cent in Scotland and 80 per cent in Northern Ireland said large-scale migration had become a serious issue.
The trends were similar across the political landscape, with 99 per cent of Reform and Conservative voters backing deportations of migrants convicted of rape and violent crimes, which was matched by 92 and 93 per cent of Labour and Lib Dem voters, respectively.
