Well said, except the threat of Russian missile tech didn’t stop Trump from doing what John McCain could only sing about. Cooler heads prevailed, he got away with it, for now. In my book, Putin gets a lot of credit for that, but Iran should get the lion’s share for not nuking us into WWIII. I don’t usually put much stock in polls, but yesterday I saw one I liked; 70% of Americans DO NOT want a war with Venezuela. That would prolly change if Maduro even tried to make our $13 bil+ carrier into a submarine. Bad as it was, his attempt at singing Lennon gave him the moral high ground, hope he stays there. Got no major problems with Mearsheimer, but in this commentary he did sound too good to be true. I mean the wisdom he spoke is not quite anything I have heard from Mearsheimer before.
