Yes, most certainly things were much nicer for political, domestic, and war prisoners, including Jews, in Germany in 1941 than in 1945 but we should not be wondering why.
When it was clear to the Nazis after Stalingrad in 1942 that unless they made peace with the West the war with Russia would be lost, their nation was not yet suffering from great privation. History tells us that German WWII peace overtures were refused by the West, both before and after the US entered the war in December of 1941. The US-Rothschild West wanted unconditional surrender and not simply another armistice, and conditions worsened in Germany and especially in the prison camps as the war wore on.
It was the same during the US Civil War. As the war wore on after Gettysburg and the outcome appeared more certain for the North, with the people of the South and their armies being more cut off from supplies and food, the privation increased, and that explains the conditions of the scarecrow survivors in the Southern prisoner camps such as the one in Andersonville, Georgia. It was not cruelty which led to the emaciated conditions of many of the prisoners. It was privation, where the citizens had little enough in provisions to feed themselves or their armies, and of course when it came to their enemies their rationing was bound to be less.
Also, if cruelty is to be a factor regarding the the war prisoners in Germany, including the focus on Jews, then the increased privation and suffering by the Germany people as the war wore on should also be considered. That situation was not likely to yield more kindness to the prisoners they blamed for their demise. Rather just the opposite was most likely. As there were shortages of material provisions there would also be shortages of the more spiritual ones, including kindness. We are very good at comparing things before and after while ignoring very much which goes on in between.
Also, what we should be more aware of regarding the history of WWII is that as it wore on both sides became more ruthless and efficient in their killing, destruction and scare mongering operations. The softies and people with moral scruples in the higher political, industrial, and military echelons were weeded out, such that on both sides what you had at war’s end was noting but a collection of sociopath monsters running virtually everything. Nothing seems to have changed since.
The same can be said for both sides in the US Civil War. It was General Sherman who in the closing years of the war became one of Lincoln’s favorites, mainly because of his pragmatism in defeating the enemy. He exercised the concept of “total war” to bombard, burn, pillage and starve out the people of the South, all to weaken the support for the Southern cause and its armies, and to destroy their resolve.
It would appear that in the closing days of WWII when the unconditional surrender of Japan was known to be accepted by the Japanese authorities, there was little or no restraint by the monsters running the US in dropping A bombs of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. In doing so the Americans joined the ranks of being as ruthless and sociopathic as the Japanese.
My father (94th cavalry recon) was at several stalags and oflags at war’s end. He said they joked that the officers in the oflags had it better then they had it in the field.
I remmeber my father saying “those dirty dogs” when the holocaust industry first started spreading in earnest in the 60s and his kids would bring the subject up. Among other tales.

There are being discovered ever more evidences that Gudrun is telling the truth – even some more honest Jews admit that this holocaust thing was a grand lie foisted upon already propagandized humanity by the winning allies.
But caveat! That doesn’t say anything about the true nature of the Nazi regime in general.
As said previously, there were secret societies behind it, same as in the allies’ side. This is a thing you must consider, that whenever secret societies are involved, suspicion is recommended and we must be very careful in what we end up believing.
