Europe’s largest port, Rotterdam, has begun preparing for a possible conflict with Russia. Port authorities are reserving space for ships carrying military cargo and developing plans to redirect commercial traffic in the event of war, Boudewijn Siemons, CEO of the Port of Rotterdam Authority, told the Financial Times, the latter reports.
According to him, Rotterdam is closely coordinating its operations with the neighboring port of Antwerp.

The Netherlands and its NATO allies have already committed to increasing military spending to 5% of GDP. In May, the Dutch Ministry of Defense announced that Rotterdam, at the request of the alliance, would provide space for several ships with military supplies.
According to Siemons, such ships would stay in the port for several weeks, four to five times a year. The only part of the port where munitions can be safely transferred from one ship to another is the container terminal.
In addition, the Port of Rotterdam will host amphibious military exercises every year. But this is nothing new for the port. Military cargo traffic increased dramatically during the 2003 Gulf War, but even at the height of the Cold War, there was no separate military port here. On the other hand, Antwerp regularly receives cargo for American troops stationed in Europe.
The current measures are part of Europe’s broader preparations for a possible Russian attack. NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte had warned in June that Russia could attack one of the alliance’s members by 2030.

The port director has called on the EU to create strategic reserves not only of oil, but also of key materials such as copper, lithium, and graphite.
According to him, the vicinity of ports with developed logistics is ideal for such storage. Part of the Netherlands’ strategic oil reserves is already stored in Rotterdam.
On Tuesday, the EU is to present a new reserve strategy. It will include medical supplies, basic raw materials, energy equipment, as well as possible storage of food and water supplies.
Yep, this is QE, and inflationary. It costs to do this, and let me just state the obvious. Rotterdam will cease to exist, 60 minutes into any direct war with Russia.
Don’t escape the fact that any attack by NATO along Russias established Western boarder will see Russian tactical nukes in the first instance.
This is not a classic escalation scenario, this based on Russian military doctrine, that Russia will not use substantial ground forces, but will use nukes.
Russia has activated its automatic nuke firing systems, because of the threat of decapitation strikes against the Russian leadership. So we are almost out of the sheeple decision process.
Can the Transatlantic supply line keep open if war starts? If U Boats caused problems in WW2, just imagine how many ships will go to Davy Jones’ Locker, as they try to sail across the Atlantic. And how long will supplies last, bearing in mind that the Russians’ supply line is overland, so they don’t have that problem. Lose lose situation for NATO.

..i thought there was a war already,for the past three years. they supposedly sent all nato hardware to Ukraine.from where? If Rotterdam is only now preparing for war! Liar had been writing about the absence of major logistical movements in Europe,and rotterdam especially.
