(Life is routine at this Tel Aviv cafe while a genocide takes place 30 miles away.)

HenryMakow.com – July 4, 2025

When I was in my twenties, I lulled myself to sleep imagining I was gunning down “Palestinian terrorists”  attacking my kibbutz. I recall visiting a house in Jerusalem “abandoned” by Palestinians. “How quaint, I thought”not considering the hypocrisy of Jews claiming a right of return after 2000 years but Palestinians denied one after 50 years.

I was a brainwashed Zionist. As I did more research I gradually realized we were the bad guys.

You can’t build a nation on the lives of another people. This atrocity will bring us all down. That is the ultimate purpose.

I considered immigrating to Israel in 1972 and lived there for nine months.

I went to Labor Zionist summer camps as a youth.

In 1970, I huddled in a bunker at Kibbutz Ashdod Yaakov during a mortar attack.

I’m writing this because I hung out with Zionist Jews when I was young. They were good people.

Charming, warm, funny, smart. I never encountered a pejorative attitude to Gentiles.

What has happened to you?

How can you participate or condone this genocide?
