A new 75th anniversary edition of George Orwell’s dystopian classic 1984 includes ‘trigger warnings’ in the introduction written by an American professor.
The College Fix reports that the warning comes:
Courtesy of Dolen Perkins-Valdez, who according to her website has “established herself as a pre-eminent chronicler of American historical life,”and teaches literature at American University.
According to the report, the introduction, authorised by the Orwell estate, makes note that “there are no Black characters at all” in the novel.
What? Why is this relevant to the book?
I’ll have to wait till I finish my read to see exactly what you are referring to, but I took a look at the introductory essay by Dolen Perkins-Valdez, and am in dismay at aspects of it:

When Orwell wrote the novel in the late 1940s, black people made up less than 1% of the English population.
The report adds:
For a “contemporary reader” such as herself, Perkins-Valdez says this gives her “pause.” She also says a “sliver of connection” is difficult with a book that “does not speak much to race and ethnicity.”
Yeah, the novel isn’t supposed to be about race and ethnicity.
In your world where you have to make absolutely everything about race, this book isn’t going to connect.
Exactly my suspicion. Her primary focus as a writer is race, and I felt like it was her excuse to explore it through a racial lens.
Fine for an academic paper, but a silly general introduction to the work as a whole.

Perkins-Valdez continues, “I’m enjoying the novel on its own terms, not as a classic but as a good story. That is, until Winston [Smith] reveals himself to be a problematic character.”
Yeah. He’s supposed to be. But in what way do you mean?
“For example, we learn of him he dislikes nearly all women. And especially the young and pretty ones,” she further explains.

“Winston’s views on women are, at first, despicable for the contemporary reader. He is the kind of character that can make me put a book down,” she adds.
Imagine if Orwell had instead written Winston as a woke liberal policing his own thoughts. The Party wouldn’t even need Big Brother.
Journalist Matt Taibbi, along with his podcast host Walter Kirn pointed out how idiotic this all is, given that the book is a warning about the erosion of language and freedom of thought.

The material in 1984 is supposed to be traumatising, that’s the entire point of the book. Putting trigger warnings on it is ludicrous and only proves Orwell was prescient.
Having this drivel as an introduction to one of the most iconic dystopian works of literature is like something out of Idiocracy.
It mirrors the novel’s own warnings about ideological conformity and the rewriting of art to appease dogmatic sensitivities.
It’s insulting.
Who on Earth commissioned it?
Perhaps the same people who agreed to a politically correct modern day re-write of 1984 from a feminist perspective.

In fact, when Orwell wrote the book all of the characters were black. This is not openly stated in the book because ethnicity is not mentioned. Orwell wrote in 1945 that ”all the characters are black because the regime has ridden the world of white people”. (Removes tongue from cheek).
Trying to replace the west’s native populations was always a bad idea, especially as how they already had us cowed by the system that ensures we must work hard to survive, not just toil for an insufficient wage but by having to juggle many things at the same time just to stay ahead. That and the lack of any alternative political parties with which to try to effect change and we were all effectively subdued.
They had all that going for them, so much that they shouldn’t have wanted more, but no. They brought in immigrants in the hope their numbers might divert our efforts away from the establishment towards the invaders, after they’d already had us cowed enough. Now as the riots in LA show and as some of us said might happen, it may be they lose control of the immigrants they brought in, Some are not as afraid of attacking the established order as we became, too divided and too individualised to push back against it.
Funny. Not enough black characters or feminists inside his book, topics that concern people. (Wait till the movie comes out). The story is a good one, 1984 ,an inversion of 1948, O says a lot in it, but also misdirects us, is about exactly what was happening in those 40’s. Not some sci fi story of what is coming in the future. Re-read the book as if you know Orwell was just another agent, an actor from MI. At least the book wasn’t written by AI robots like so much of todays writing seems to be.
1984 pushes the view that Jews are the victims, e.g. Emmanuel Goldstein and followers – whereas the followers of the Irish O’Brien are, through the inner party in charge. The book would make far more sense with the roles reversed as in actuality – then and now. It clearly expresses George Orwells philosemite views to be expected at the time it was written – 1948.
Great Book. It would not however be on sale at every major book selling chain throughout the country if it told the real and reversed truth.

Orwell in 1984 was describing futuristic Communism in the form of ‘techno-Communism.’

Thus we learn the political system Orwell is warning us about is basically ‘Neo-Bolshevism’; which of course is Jewish. But at least there were no n*gger characters in 1984. I recall there was some wog in the book though–I think it was O’Brien’s servant–some sort of eurasian or chink.

It always reminds me of a story that a close friend of mine who grew up in Malaysia in the 1970s told me many years ago: When a local Indian neighbour hanged himself, the neighbourhood kids would immediately run over there to check out the scene – a guy hanging from a beam, his blue tongue sticking out. None of the adults would dream of stopping them from taking in the excitement. It’s called LIFE. And my friend was one of the most creative, compassionate, and intelligent people I have ever met.

Maybe the worst of it is not the homicidal maniacs teaching their children to hate everyone and kill the human grasshoppers they revile, maybe the worst of it is really the American politicians in their finely tailored suits and rancid rhetoric inflexibly vomiting support for this cruel carnage, recklessly raving about how Israeli has a right a defend itself, not ever once thinking, amidst the filthy lucre rich Jews have showered them with, about how Israelis could ever defend themselves from themselves, as anyone who would kill their neighbors for show and then blame it on the people they wanted to kill could never be trusted by anyone anywhere, which is the situation we face now in the world about the Jews.
By murdering 20,000 people in a vengeful plot they designed themselves, the Jews have signed their own death warrant, and that work, conducted by all the righteous people in the world, should begin at once. It’s called pest control, and the human species, if they plan on staying alive, should finally realize what they have to do to do so.
But of course they won’t. Have you noticed? The world is being suicided by Jews who pretend to be the faithful citizens of the countries they intend to sabotage, swindle and slaughter like the psychopathological perverts they are and have always been.
Keep listening to the TV networks they own, the newspapers they run, and the misguided children they ruin at an early age by getting them to cut off their balls or breasts in operations that have never-ever once been successful, making them forever useless and sterile formerly healthy human beings. They’ll tell you to kill yourself, just like the Jews always tell you, and if you listen long enough, you will, one way or the other.
By looking the other way we assure that this is already happening, and you really can’t blame anybody but yourself for sitting on your hands and doing nothing about it.

The comments on this one are marvellous, but not surprising. Dolen Perkins-Valdez “is a Black American novelist and essayist, best known for Wench: A Novel and Balm. She was chair of the PEN/Faulkner Foundation’s Board of Directors.” Her intro to 1984 is a good example of the shit being stuffed into the heads of the gullible young people going to our secular colleges and universities. What sane people are doing everywhere is pulling out of those institutions, and even pulling their kids out the government-run secular schools, for either private ones or for homeschooling. I know for a fact that in many locations in Canada many parents and pulling together and pooling resources for private education supporting traditional values and real learning.
Having totally ignored what Jesus actually said in the New Testament about hell, next the pansy, gay, woke and feminists preachers and scripture scholars of today will cast the book in rainbow inclusiveness, with the 12 apostles being multiracial, homosexual, and feminist, and no doubt with Jesus somehow endorsing pedophilia and transgenderism by saying “Let the children come unto to me.”.

George Orwell’s book was published in 1949. Information sources were basically libraries and various publishers. If one was privy to the various publishers including the lesser “freedom” publishers, they could thus obtain their research material.
Today we have Internet, which with judicial gleaning can find sources of information quicker. This is why the money changing Khazarian Mafia is in damage control mode to do as much censoring as possible, to include incarcerating and murdering truthers, and desiring to achieve total control over all information sources including the Internet.
Orwell went on what he knew at the time by his research. But now we know a little more so we can fill in his blanks.
Because of current easy digital access freedom, they exercise “by way of deception thou shalt do war” tactics. Some of the commenting on TTS is done with this in mind. The so-called “fact checkers” are a part of their lying schemes. This includes most of TTS’ off-topic drivel comments. Their bottom line is extreme profitability at ours and other’s expense. (Follow the money. They already have 90% of the world’s wealth. Now they want the 10% you, I, and others own.)
