I’ve just watched Sean Foo’s latest video on the spat between the US and China, and listening to snippets of Trump’s team it occurred to me why in the US in the election run-up they do not have the candidates face an audience of real people asking real and important questions. Had they been able to do so it seems clear Trump lacks a real understanding of basic economics: “The country producing the goods pays the tariffs, sometimes the company pays the tariffs, the people don’t pay the tariffs.” It’s likely he’d not have been elected if he said that on the campaign trail and showed how he thinks an economic penalty works.
It now makes me wonder if Trump being elected wasn’t the aberration it’s being sold as and was maybe the elitist’s plan all along? They must have worked very hard to ensure there was no way Trump would overhear such an unsolicited question being asked then say, “Yeah, I’ll answer that.” Maybe they plan to burst his ego or panic him over something? I doubt he could rationally analyse a threat of “Incoming!” in what could be the last minutes of all our lives. Especially not if they’re playing him in a nuclear bunker.
