Britain will move to a constant state of readiness for war by building six new bomb factories, the Defence Secretary will announce this week.
John Healey will on Monday unveil plans to spend £1.5 billion on massively ramping up Britain’s production of artillery shells and explosives.
He will also commit to buying 7,000 long-range weapons after military bosses warned that the UK no longer has has an effective fighting force.
The announcement will be made as ministers publish a Strategic Defence Review which will set out the future of the Army, Navy and Air Force.
One of the key measures being taken will be the switch to an “always on” approach to munitions supply so Britain is constantly ready for war.
At least six weapons factories will be built across the country with the capacity to massively ramp up production should a conflict break out
Ministers have drawn lessons from the war in Ukraine which has seen both sides expend huge numbers of artillery shells, rockets and drones.
Britain has significantly depleted its own stockpile of weapons by donating missiles, air defence systems, artillery shells and tanks to Kyiv.
Last year ministers warned that the regular Army could be wiped out in as little as six months should the UK be dragged into a major conflict.
Mr Healey said: “The hard-fought lessons from Putin’s illegal invasion of Ukraine show a military is only as strong as the industry that stands behind them.

The other day is was announced that Nazi UK was seeking aircraft, probably from Nazi Amerika, to fire, or drop a tactical nuke.
The nukes used on Japan were around 9KT, a tactical nuke, or known as a battlefield nuke, is around 70KT, but can be dialed back, so less powerful. So a tactical nuke could in theory be strapped to an air to ground missile, but the official wording says ‘dropping’ a tactical nuke from a height.
Whoever put this together either doesn’t know what they’re talking about, or it’s deliberate gibberish.
So Nazi UKraine has been lost to Russia, unless they put boots on the ground, say next 6 weeks, so where are Nazi UK going to be firing all these artillery shells? If this is Russia, it’s going nuclear, so shells, artillery, and ram power just won’t cut it.
Russia has been fighting a 3yr war along a 900 mile front, and they’ve almost defeated 3 UKrainian armies. 1.2, or 1.3, or 1.5 million Nazis dead. There should be at a minimum of 2 million wounded, but where are they? As I said 2yrs ago, the Nazi wounded are quickly appraised, and those too badly wounded, or too old, are shot on the spot.
This will come out in 15/20 years, assuming we haven’t been irradiated before then.
As I’ve said over the last year and a bit, Nazi RAF have been training to low level strike Russia, and this has been confirmed by recent announcemts, and the new Stormshroud drone, specifically developed to attack St Petersburg and Moscow, with no declaration of war, you know, just your regular Nazi UK act of terrorism.

Healey would be more suited to inspect a large vibrating butt-plug or mechanized giant rubber anal fist, at least then he’d be intimately familiar with the functions.
What should have happened in a sane world was Healey get clocked in the face with a big monkey wrench, stripped naked, strapped to one of those missiles, then launched into Hell Aviv or The City.
