It reminds me of an event shortly before my time, when America flew the U2 spy plane high above Russia in the belief the Soviets didn’t have the missiles to shoot it down. Until a Soviet missile shot it down. Maybe America thinks Iran hasn’t got missiles capable of striking an island over 2,000km away, but I wouldn’t want to be on that island if the air-raid sirens go off. They’re the only possible target so it’s not like they can hope the missiles will strike elsewhere.
