Getting a tattoo could nearly triple your risk of certain cancers, a fascinating study on thousands of people suggests.
Danish and Finnish scientists analysed data from over 2,000 twins, comparing cancer rates in those who inked up versus those that didn’t.
They found participants with any tattoo were up to 62 per cent more likely to be diagnosed with skin cancer.
But for those with body art larger than the palm of a hand, the risk of skin cancer increased by 137 per cent and for lymphoma, a type of blood cancer, the risk soared to 173 per cent.
They said their findings were concerning given the rising popularity of tattoos in European nations, particularly among younger generations.
Surveys estimate that about one in four people in the UK now have at least one tattoo.
The authors said tattoos may increase cancer risk due to ink entering the bloodstream and accumulating in the lymph nodes — glands that are a vital part of the body’s immune system.
The dye could trigger chronic inflammation, leading to abnormal cell growth and an increased risk of cancer, the researchers said.
Professor Henrik Frederiksen, an expert in blood disorders from the University of Southern Denmark and one of the study authors, explained: ‘We can see that ink particles accumulate in the lymph nodes, and we suspect that the body perceives [the ink] as a foreign substance.’
‘This may mean that the immune system is constantly trying to respond to the ink, and we do not yet know whether this persistent strain could weaken the function of the lymph nodes or have other health consequences.’
Writing journal BMC Public Health, the authors said that further work should explore if particular colours of ink used in tattoos also played a part in increasing cancer risk.
While noting their data suggested getting a tattoo increased cancer risk, they acknowledged that, for skin cancer, other factors could be to blame.
They said it could be that tattoos don’t directly cause the disease but instead hide it, leading to a later diagnosis.
‘Tattoo ink may not cause cancer but “merely” lead to later detection and thus potentially be associated with more severe stages of skin cancer,’ they wrote.
‘This is something we plan to delve deeper into in the future’.
Twin studies are considered a gold standard of such research because they allow experts to analyse two participants with extremely similar DNA, and compare the impact of lifestyle differences.
About 17,000 cases of lymphoma are diagnosed in the UK each year.
The condition happens when specific types of blood cells, which are crucial for fighting infections, develop abnormally.
Nearly 200,000 cases of skin cancer are diagnosed in Britain annually, but only a fraction, about 17,500 are melanomas, the most serious form of the disease.

Such a loss to the world … I am talking about tattoos.
When he is gone, his skin should be preserved and turned into a funky, avant-garde rug, much better than a bear rug, Give Beast A Chance in words of whatsisname.
LOL at the Daily Fail..
Excellent collection of maggot media ‘tropes’ and ‘cliches’..
To wit:..
‘CANCER’
‘studies suggest’
‘anal-ised data, anal-ists’
‘cancer’
‘could trigger’
‘cancer’
‘more likely’
‘cancer rates’ (cancer..cancerous, big puss filled gangrenous tumours, necrotic cancerous cancers…cancer inducing cancers causing cancer etc)..
‘may mean’ (re cancer)
‘cancer’ (of course)
‘data suggested’
‘ex-spurt in’ (cancer)
‘cancer’
etc etc etc etc etc……………………..perhaps they are working on a vaxxine to prevent this now that they have most of the world shitting themselves about their slave stamps?..
NB: I prefer Ye Goode Olde fashioned term for Post Modernism’s induced lumps and ganglians, puss filled molochs and tumours…
.. ‘canker’ as in cantankerous… because they should be..
“They found participants with any tattoo were up to 62 per cent more likely to be diagnosed with skin cancer.”….and were 100% more likely to be deranged and dumber than dog shit.
“But for those with body art larger than the palm of a hand, the risk of skin cancer increased by 137 per cent and for lymphoma, a type of blood cancer, the risk soared to 173 per cent.” … Hahaha good – we need the Darwin effect to weed out a lot more imbeciles and mentally ill narcissists from society. Tattoos are body mutilation and a pathetic cry for attention, if not a loud and clear signal declaring their insanity. Period. And who would have guessed that injecting a bunch of toxins that don’t belong in the body would have consequences to health? The f*cking morons. And barking mad dumb-f*cks like the freakazoid in the photo should be relentlessly humiliated…and hanged.
All these tattoo chemicals are unregulated just like most chemicals in vaping liquids. And they are all mostly controlled by big pharma. Yes, look at all the young people that died in the USA – all identified as from vaping chemicals, in around 2019 leading to the scamdemic. The same goes for tattoo inks. Given such facts, is it not about time to ban all these deadly/harmful chemicals? But, I guess not, since it generates profits for the criminal medical/pharma cartel. Like, one tribal member stated, if people want it, we give to them. What an inhumane, uncaring attitude for what counts is big money.
“Experts” – if they cared to investigate – would ALSO discover people with tattoos have DOUBLE the risk of….
being as thick as two short planks. 🙄
Starmer says people on benefits ‘fearful’ of looking for work

WHAT A SILLY ARSE THERE IS NO WORK BECAUSE YOU IMPORTED IN MIGRANTS AND GAVE IT TO THEM
what a stupid thing to say, its the sort of nonsence carl jones would say
They are also finding that many of the food dyes are actually quite toxic, creating a lot of mental disorders and autoimmune problems.
The freakishly tattooed males & females comprise a new race of humanoid: the tattoids.
It was really ramped up with the likes of Kat-von-de & the beckham types.
a two fold strat’.. to make it seem reasonably ‘normal’ so that if/when a bar code is required to be given to each & every individual, it won;t seem such a big deal.. & of course the reliance in the latter stages of life to be ‘hooked into’ the need for continual medical industry ‘help’…
You have to admit, a very well thought out agenda with amazing results. decades, as ever in advance.
many many years ago, I’d engraved a statement onto my spirit level. the Caft Dunt foreman ridiculed me
as being very immature, (obviously the statement rubbed him up the wrong way 🙂 ) I retorted…as was the case, “At least I haven’t gone & drawn pictures all over myself”.
Well said Phyllis/Fred .
many additives in many products now that we are being fed… it’s all planned.
As ever, Umbra has the solution. 🙂
Ahhh, the experts again! Let’s also look at the bright side here. Pharmacia surely can come up with some costly cancer treatment for the well being of the brain washing tribe and those totally “full of themselves” and on their way to the afterlife. Ashes to ashes and tattoos to dust!
Police arrest parents who complained about daughter’s primary school
The parents of a nine-year-old girl were arrested by police after they complained about their daughter’s primary school in a WhatsApp group.
Maxie Allen and Rosalind Levine were reportedly detained in front of their young daughter by six officers before being left in a cell for eight hours. They said they were questioned on suspicion of harassment, malicious communications and causing a nuisance on school property.
After a five-week investigation, police concluded that there should be no further action.
‘Disparaging’ comments”
It comes after officers from Essex Police turned up at the home of Allison Pearson, the Telegraph columnist, on Remembrance Sunday to inform her that she was being investigated on suspicion of stirring up racial hatred over a post she had published and then deleted on social media 12 months earlier. The arrest of the couple, on Jan 29, reportedly came after the school complained about Mr Allen and his partner sending numerous emails and making “disparaging” comments on a parents’ WhatsApp group.
The couple had previously been banned from entering Cowley Hill Primary School, in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire, after questioning the appointment process for a head teacher and “casting aspersions” on the chairman of governors on WhatsApp, The Times reported.
Mr Allen, 50, a producer for Times Radio, told the newspaper he and his partner were blocked from attending the parents’ evening for their daughter Sascha, nine.
‘Silence awkward parents’
He said their treatment showed “massive overreach” by Hertfordshire Constabulary, and that the approach by Cowley Hill primary was intended to “silence awkward parents”.
Mr Allen added: “It was absolutely nightmarish. I couldn’t believe this was happening, that a public authority could use the police to close down a legitimate inquiry. We’d never used abusive or threatening language, even in private, and always followed due process.
“Yet we have never even been told what these communications were that were supposedly criminal, which is completely Kafkaesque The conflict reportedly began in May last year when Mr Allen said he wrote to the school governors questioning why his 9 year old daughter was being taught LBGT lesbian practices
Tattooing is self-harm or bullying, and banned in Leviticus
Now if we can only convince homosexuals and woke leftists to get tattooed with “earth tone” dyes, made from fecal matter, we should be able to at least double those odds!
“Hey, ‘bro, it’s Organic!
Of course, homos are already ingesting mass quantities of deadly substances through microperferations of their intestinal tracts, so maybe for them, the odds of early ‘Transition’ will increase exponentially!
Neither my Wife nor I have any interest in getting tattoos. My Wife’s sister on the other hand has her arms covered in them. There is a connection to getting tattoos and the amount of common sense and gullibility each person possesses. Without reading this latest report about tattoos and cancer, something told me injecting ink into your person is a very bad idea.
