In a stunning display of self-inflicted alienation, Rangers Football Club has chosen to publicly shame its own supporters over a banner displayed during a Europa League match against Fenerbahce. The banner, which read, “Keep woke foreign ideologies out – defend Europe,” has been labeled “racist and/or discriminatory” by UEFA, prompting the club to issue a groveling statement condemning the actions of its fans. This incident is not just a moment of embarrassment for Rangers; it is a microcosm of the growing chasm between Europe’s elites and the common people they claim to represent.
The banner that shook the club
The controversy erupted during Rangers’ penalty shoot-out victory over Fenerbahce, when a section of fans in the Copland Stand unfurled a banner spanning three sections. The message, “Keep woke foreign ideologies out – defend Europe,” was a clear expression of frustration with the encroachment of progressive ideologies into European culture and institutions. UEFA, ever eager to flex its bureaucratic muscle, swiftly charged the club, describing the banner as “racist and/or discriminatory.”
Rangers’ response was nothing short of a betrayal. In a statement, the club declared, “It is deeply saddening and frankly embarrassing that the club is now set to face significant sanctions for the actions of a very small minority.” The club went on to assert its progressive credentials, stating, “Rangers is a modern, progressive football club and we are fiercely proud of our diverse playing squads, workforce and support.”
But the most damning line came next: “For the avoidance of doubt, if you do not believe in 2025 that absolutely everyone is welcome to follow Rangers, whether at Ibrox or away, then Rangers is not the club for you and you should disassociate yourself with the club immediately.”
The elites vs. the people
This incident is not an isolated one. It reflects a broader trend in which European elites — whether in politics, media, or sports — increasingly distance themselves from the concerns of ordinary citizens. The banner’s message, “defend Europe,” echoes the sentiments of millions who feel their cultural identity is under threat from unchecked globalization and the imposition of progressive ideologies.
Historically, football clubs like Rangers have been pillars of working-class communities, representing the hopes, dreams and frustrations of their supporters. Yet, in recent years, these institutions have increasingly aligned themselves with the values of the elite, often at the expense of their own fanbase. This is not just a problem in Scotland; it is a phenomenon seen across Europe and America, where institutions once rooted in local culture now prioritize globalist ideals over the people they were built to serve.
The consequences of alienation
Rangers’ decision to disavow its fans is not without consequences. The club warned that the UEFA charge “will bring consequences for the club,” and it is working to identify those responsible for the banner to ensure they “also face consequences.” But the real consequence is the erosion of trust between the club and its supporters.
The statement’s tone-deafness is staggering. While condemning the banner, the club also criticized fans for throwing objects and blocking passageways during the match. Yet, in the same breath, Rangers noted that their own players and staff were “targeted with missiles” during a recent Old Firm derby at Celtic Park. This selective outrage highlights the club’s willingness to scapegoat its own fans while ignoring broader issues of fan behavior across Scottish football.
A warning to other clubs
Rangers’ handling of this incident should serve as a warning to other clubs. In their eagerness to appease governing bodies and align themselves with progressive ideals, they risk alienating the very people who make football the beautiful game. The banner at Ibrox was not an act of hate; it was a cry for cultural preservation. By dismissing it as “shameful” and “embarrassing,” Rangers has sent a clear message to its supporters: your concerns do not matter.
This is not just a problem for Rangers or Scottish football. It is a symptom of a larger crisis in which elites—whether in sports, politics, or media—have lost touch with the people they are supposed to represent. As the gap between the rulers and the ruled grows wider, incidents like this will only become more common.
In the end, Rangers’ betrayal of its fans is a cautionary tale. When institutions prioritize ideology over identity, they risk losing the very soul that makes them worth supporting. For Rangers, the road to redemption will be long and difficult—but it begins with listening to the voices of the people who have stood by the club through thick and thin. Anything less is a disservice to the sport, the fans and the culture they hold dear.

Even the banner was woke. It should have said “kill them”.
Who runs the club? Who owns it? Presumably soros or his minions.
Anyone who doesn’t boycott it must be woke too.
Not that it really matters. If football clubs were the one and only place you could tell the truth, how would that help?
Burn the place to the ground, along with all the woke dens.
the club has moved away from its fans
this is a major step to folk staying home
non one wants to supporta club that does not support them
It’s time for Rangers supporters to show who the real boss is and threaten to stop supporting this club. Then let’s see whether the club changes its stance or prefers to go to the wall! If it does, then it’s bye-bye!!!👌
The fans “discriminated”, but, as we know, everything in the Universe is everything else: if you are going on a journey you must make sure to think north is east, west and south, and south is east, north and west, and west is east, north and south, and east is north, south and west
LOL..
Football…
Fabian NWO tool Herby Well’s, one of those vile lower middle class upstarts who hated the working man and licked spittle for a farthing way back when…

apparently conceived of the stadium football plex in all it’s commie brutalist glory …because it’s very useful to the culture creators… and keeps imbeciles entertained.. both sets..
Which if true isn’t at all surprising.. and if it isn’t, should be and probably was…
I think these protests are organised by European anti-democratic forces. In France recently a lot of people were on the streets protesting against Trump and Musk and were carrying placards in English. Why would the French protest Trump and Musk in English? If it was real and organic the names would still be known to the world while the protestations would be in French. It seems the unelected EU leadership is about to crash and burn their EU warmonger project but we must see the last of its cash wasted on weapons first.
Oh well! Que sera and all that. Now let’s get the EU over with.
The banner and the persons who held it aloft for the cameras was installed by insiders , planted actors, so that the elites can make a big stink about it. Honestly, some soccer fanatic is really going to take time to write something stupid “woke bla bla bla”, it’s a silly charade. Even that foto looks fake.
Say what you want about Football “Hooligans”…
but they’re the only ones left with any balls in the feminised, faggotised United Klingon…
and they’ll STILL be around kicking a$$ long after your typical limp-wristed THICKBrit wanker has been thrown to – and devoured by! – the Wolves of Wokery! 😏
Congratulations! Fantastic banner, coming just at the right time and in the right place. It is a strong signal to the rest of the world that the common people are alive and well despite all of the top-down establishment oppression. In fact, we are the only real people left who really matter.
“European elites” ??? You do mean “the scum at the top”. Right?
“Historically, football clubs like Rangers have been pillars of working-class communities, representing the hopes, dreams and frustrations of their supporters.” … You know, decades ago, the local professional team, no matter the sport, may have had a few blokes from the area on the roster, bu how many lads on playing for the Rangers are from anywhere near Glasgow or wherever the f*ck the Rangers are based?
It’s the most curious and idiotic part about professional sports teams and their fans – how the local imbeciles get SO attached to the team in their city when that team comprises nobody from that town. Practically every player on any given roster is a mercenary from somewhere hundreds of miles away if not, as we see more and more of, from some other decrepit cuntry, none of whom actually gives a standing piss about the city or the meatbags who inhabit it.
The only thing actually even more pathetic are the fans who say “we” or “us” in relation to the local professional franchise, as in “We beat the Birmingham Fudgepackers” when they are clearly not on the f*cking roster and haven’t kicked a ball on a pitch since they were the last pick in a pick-up match in primary school.
Americunts are just as bad, of course. They go ape shit when the team based in their city wins some sort of championship and get this absurd bloated pride even though the probability is that not one player on the roster is actually from that stinking city.
I was a multi-sport intercollegiate athlete and I would have knocked someone’s teeth out if I heard them say “We sure beat the Pittsburgh Pig-F*ckers! We won!” I would have said “Who the f*ck is WE? What number were you?” A fan doesn’t get to say “we” when they didn’t earn a place on the team with blood, sweat, piss, and sometimes even teeth or broken bones. It’s f*cking pathetic. Well, that’s my rant on that…haha
Anyhoo, while I don’t really give a squeaking fart about college or pro sports even though I was a competitive athlete at a pretty advanced level in rather brutal sports (ice hockey and Americunt football), something that could actually make it more interesting is the roster of a team, no matter the sport, has to have at least 50% of the players from local areas. Instead, everyone has turned into the French national team, which is composed of maybe one actual Frenchman and otherwise chock full of niggers and mongrels from anywhere but France.
Not that any of it matters, because it doesn’t, as pro sports is as responsible as anything else for the degradation of society and nothing but distractionary theatre for the hoi polloi, plebs, and ignorati while they get raped, robbed, and pimp slapped with a giant rubber dong by the ruling class. The imbeciles are in the streets going ape over a bunch of overpaid douchebags who were pissing in their town well just a few years prior when they should be chasing he agents of treachery and treason through the streets and executing them. Now THAT is the sport I’d like to see.
Oh yeah! Soccer/football the greatest brainwashing machine for dorks of all ages – all the time. All those woke advice and programming constantly flashing before the fans teary eyes – during the game, before and after surely leaving their mark on fans. Authority asks for RESPECT that when rayciss behavioral problems occur while some left over whities in their own football temples imitate monkey noises or donate bananas to restore some energy for some selected stars in a tough game when half their teams does not look native at all – will most likely get barred for years from soccer or are even jailed when spotted by authorities surveillance. Others again (the purer “native” ones) are exempt from any “racyss gestures” that once upon a time in Africa came quite natural to them. The idols of modern British or Jerman Football! How the country and the world has changed into a circus for imbeciles! Yes! Respect is all authority needs – to be a good (brain dead and sold out) citizen!

The fans should stage a walk out and an empty stadium until the club and the board go BROKE and are kicked out of the club!! They will soon be gone to another Globalist ‘pet project’ elsewhere. Football was always OF the people FOR the people before the Globalist SCUM started the PL and it has all gone down hill since then
police in the UK do not come out for mugging burglaries shop thefts etc
but ata recent match a man shouted a racist insult at a black player who missed the ball
at 4 in the morning teams of police were knocking on doors to find out who it was
they almost hammered and bashed my door in, my wife was badly upset and the children were crying, i had no idea who shouted, police insisted it was from near me
the way police treated us was the most evil racist thing i have seen
Umbra Bellator has made some excellent points regarding professional sports. Around here where I live, advertising for the local pro team is concluded with: “your Toronto BlueJays”!! Well they’re not my BlueJays or anyone else’s except the arrogant elitist owners who are in it solely for the money. All the time we hear about ridiculous pro player contracts in the tens of millions of dollars. No one should attend any of these games when we have these ridiculous exorbitant salaries. Ordinary people struggling to make some kind of living cannot and should not connect with these players and teams. What should be supported are the local amateur teams comprised of people who live in the city or the nearby area.
