It was always unlikely Trump would keep all his promises, but it seems he’ll hold government agencies and offices to account–because he wants their money. Not to put into beneficial infrastructure and social programs but into tax cuts. Today’s newsletter from Redacted says: The House of Representatives passed a budget resolution that would authorize “relevant House committees to find at least $1.5 trillion in spending cuts, $4.5 trillion in tax cuts, and a $4 trillion bump to the debt ceiling.”
If true and Trump follows through on this, then the tax giveaways will be three times the savings so far, with $4tr he can add to the giveaway. And that $5,000 bonus going to the people? It’s not to everyone but to every household, meaning already it’s going to far less people than first intimated…and it’s not going to those who don’t pay income tax including pensioners and the jobless. His opponents can’t even call that a voter’s bribe, because not only is it not going to enough of them, but there’ll be more MAGA and ordinary people cut from the bonus than his rich opponents who will ALL receive their tax cuts.
