Like was said on this site in February 2022, the deal was always for Russia to take those four Russian-speaking oblasts of the Ukraine in exchange for getting out of Syria. The deal with Russia was likely made by the Trump administration early in 2020 when it was very busy crafting the Abraham Accords with the Arab nations. Most likely the US deep state rigged the 2020 election for that very reason, such that the lame-duck Biden administration would take the blame for provoking the war through orchestrated Democratic Russia bashing, and the Zelensky deliberate escalation of hostilities in the Donbas after he was elected in 2019. Like Covid, it was all planned, and planned such that Trump would come back as the great peacemaker with Russia after the Biden administration was ground into nonsense, subject of course for Russia vacating Syria on cue after occupying those four oblasts.
No, in these land exchanges the people living in the various regions do not count. There is no morality, no right or wrong in any high place on this earth. The truth in all of this is very disgusting. The ZOG killing of over a million duped Ukrainian soldiers was all for Syria and of course the raping and transfers of vast farmlands and other valuable Ukrainian assets to US and European interests. I think the continued belligerence of these mostly unelected EU leaders stems from the huge volumes of money that have been lost in the Ukrainian money-sink. Corporations, central banks, stock markets, pension funds, billionaires and probably Europe’s royal houses have all had their grubby little fingers in that failed land grab. It’s not enough they’ve profited already because their bank balance and investment portfolios are probably all a little bit fatter–but a lot of investments won’t pay out, and greedy people are rarely satisfied with the profits they’ve made, and they don’t consider profits which aren’t realised as lower profits overall, but as big losses. And those losses will be passed on to the masses.
Bank losses will be underwritten by governments. Other losses by hook or by crook will move across the books to become investment losses made by the pension funds these companies manage, while others will be moved across the books to be written off as tax losses. But the biggest problem these politicians have is they have to explain why these f**-ups were made. After being warned many times Europe can’t fight Russia and America can’t be trusted and may withdraw anytime, they now have the problem of explaining how this is what happened but they had nothing whatsoever to do with any of it.

What will the EU do when these sanctions run up against the US when Trump wants to do business with Russia and he decides the US will ignore its sanctions?
Talk about lack of insight. They can hate Russia and despise Trump, but a new détente between these two superpowers should end all talk of further sanctions. Use EU laws if they must to stop EU companies trading with them, but to impose barriers on US trade with Russia would be to invite a public slapdown. And if they say “But we don’t mean you, America” then their authority crumbles.
