Bishop of Liverpool’s resignation latest in series of sex scandals for Church of England
The Bishop of Liverpool’s resignation is the latest development in what has been a tumultuous time for the Church of England.
One woman accused the Right Reverend Dr John Perumbalath of kissing her and groping her tits, and another woman accused him of begging for sex, according to Channel 4 News. Bishop Perumbalath, who denies all the claims, said he had decided to retire without any admission of fault or liability, but to avoid the issue being “a distraction”.
