Trump’s “gift bag” also includes the cancellation of the sanctions lists imposed by the Biden administration on settlers and far-right elements, who suffered greatly from this move, after the outgoing president became convinced that Israel had no intention of enforcing the law against them. There are also indications that Trump intends to wage an all-out war against the International Criminal Court in The Hague and against the arrest warrants issued against Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, and against additional steps that may already be being taken there against other senior Israeli officials.
The previous Trump administration waged a fight against proceedings at the International Criminal Court that dealt with suspicions of American war crimes in Afghanistan, but beneath the surface, this fight was waged with significant assistance from Israeli intelligence. The American agencies involved even rewarded Israel and its aides afterward.
I speculated earlier that Netanyahu may go along with this deal just to give Trump a win in the hope of securing more for Israel in the future and this report suggests that may be the case.
That said, this also could just be propaganda for Israelis for domestic consumption to try and quell a pleb revolt over Netanyahu signing a peace deal. Don’t forget, last year Israelis rioted against their own government after they caught wind of a potential plan to prosecute IDF soldiers who raped Palestinian prisoners.

This division could be used by the Republican Party to unseat Trump if he pushes his pro-Israel zealotry too far, especially if he reads the mood wrong and tells his supporters who don’t want to back Israel that the MAGA movement neither needs nor wants them, in which case he’d effectively be calling his own supporters deplorables. But it would put Israel into proper perspective if his support for them does unseat him. Put a spin on that one MSM and Zionism.
